He flinched at the words, hoping that they just came out harsher than she meant them to. ”That hurts, Betty.” he said softly. ”Because I need you. I have no doubt of your ability to survive, I just…” he sighed. ”I don't want to fight with you. I want you to be happy.”

she rolled her eyes "I honestly could care less right now" she said.

He closed his eyes tightly at her words, almost praying that she didn't mean that. ”You’re not coming back to the hotel with us, are you?” he asked, a little hurt by the thought as he let his hand fall to his side.

She shook her head "no I can't deal with this right now it's not good for Laurabeth it's not good for us and it's certainly not good for the baby"

”Ok. I can understand that.” He nodded, genuinely understanding those reasons but not happy with how this conversation turned.

”I love you.” he smiled faintly at the kiss. ”Will we see you tomorrow?”

”Ok. I’ll see you then. Sleep well.” he told her with a kind smile.

She nodded going back to evan

Lysander sighed and let his shoulders slump as he leaned against the car, waiting for Tyler and Henry. Or at least a message saying that they were going to fly back.

Evan grinned, waving at Betty as she approached. ”Your carriage, milady.” he said as he opened the cab door for her.

She smiled getting in the cab

Evan slid in after her and shut the door before telling his hotel address to the driver.

Betty had her head leaned on his shoulder

Evan smiled at her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

She placed a kiss on his cheek

”You want to order room service when we get there or…?” Evan asked.

She smiled "yeah sure. . . Did you like our kiss" she asked looking at her lap

”Of course, I did. I always do.” Evan smiled at her and kissed her cheek in return.

She blushed " I like it when we kiss" she admitted

”So do I, beautiful.” Evan chuckled softly.

She blushed a darker shade

There was a divider in the way thatm are it where the driver couldn't see in the back and she kissed him
