"Yeah. Yeah, let's do that." Clem was reduced to silence, retreating into her own thoughts as she focused on driving. It wasn't very often that this happened - the psychopath blessed onto her by her parents was ever present, rarely shutting up.
"Am I pledging everyone to silence?" She wondered in a groan, slumping back into her seat. Of course, wherever she went, things would get awkward. "I bet if I wasn't here, she'd be pouring her heart out to Jason."
(sorry for not replying to this sooner. i opened it when you last replied and it was like 2:30am so i decided to reply when I woke up)
Clem gripped the steering wheel, knuckles turning ever so white. If she was being honest with herself, she didn't want either of her companions with her. She felt like she needed to be alone. Not that that was possible.
(It's all good! Where I live it was around like… 8am I think. So you're all good :P)
Ember ran her fingers through her hair, chewing on her lip in thought. She was getting anxious stuck in the back of this car, her legs beginning to cram. 'I should've gone with Tim and Dick…' She mentioned to herself, drumming her fingers on the knee.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Jason asked softly, having his own thoughts running through his head. "Not about the fighting Joker thing, about the Lucy thing. It's a huge step, not just for you but for me as well. Are you sure you're ready?"
"I think it's the only thing I can do, really."
The conversation interested her, so she listened quietly and intently. It was important, she could tell by the tone in their voices. Whatever it was, she didn't know, but it was about Lucy. Someone important to Ember.
(sorry I was having some family issues, will you give me a brief update)
(Aww I’m sorry, hope everything is alright!)
(I don’t really know where to start. A lot has happened.)
(everything is fine now and you guys have done so much work without me, a couple of pages)
(We didn’t know what happened to you… well I guess we should wait for @Ghost_Spider_The_Tired_Pansexual to come back)
(I’m just thinking, I don’t know where to fit you in to this, so we should ask them where you should come in at. I can’t exactly give you a rundown, because my phone is small and it might go ballistic on me if I try and type it all out.)
(i cant really help either. i was thinking the same thing, and i really dont know how your character could come in. and i dont have time to summarise it either - im still super busy with school cause my state's not closing its schools (i live in queensland))
The conversation interested her, so she listened quietly and intently. It was important, she could tell by the tone in their voices. Whatever it was, she didn't know, but it was about Lucy. Someone important to Ember.
"This is a huge responsibility, Clem."
"I know Jason. I can handle her. How different is it gonna be to when we babysit her? No different. We'll be fine. I'm sure of it."
(The only thing I can think of is their character getting lost, and having to text in that she has to meet them at their next location)
Ember figured out what they were talking about, trying to bit back her tongue. 'Don't interrupt, don't do it Ember.' She scolded herself, in attempt not to speak up.
"I-"
"I have faith in you, Jason. Lucy adores you so much. I don't think you see it but she considers you like a brother. She looks up to you."
"She does?"
"Yeah, probably more than me. Neither of us are that good a role model, but you're much better than me."
Violet Pulled over at a gas station then pull out her phone and called clem
(hey I hate to be that person but do you mind making your posts longer and using proper grammar? at least the grammar part? i can handle not much detail but it's not hard to use punctuation and the likes)
Clem didn't hear her phone ring, but it wouldn't have mattered. She didn't have her phone's bluetooth on, and her ringtone was on mute.
Ember had lost interest in the conversation halfway through, fidgeting with her own hands. 'I really hope we get there soon…' Sighing, she looked out the window to watch the night sky fly by. It had to be getting late, they had been out for quite some time at this point.
Violet might have given up if she was a normal person, Violet paused then laughed. She started to call Ember, but she stopped if they in a fight and Clem not answering her phone means if she called Ember it could get them hurt or worse killed. Violet opened a special app to make sure that they weren't in trouble, they are fine but they are moving. Violet put her phone down and started to drive again.
(she is following you guys.)
(sorry ive been really busy and haven't had time to reply or anything. nothing is coming to mind either)
(It's all good. Do we want to skip until they get there?)
(probably best, if you could do it that would be awesome)
(Sure thing! Give me a couple minutes here, and I'll write up something decent.)
(No problem!)
As they pulled up to Gotham Academy, Ember let out a breath of heavy relief. The ride had been rather agonizing, in Ember's opinion at least, as she had said almost nothing the whole time. Most days, that wouldn't have been a problem, but right now it killed her not to have. Assuming it was because she felt excluded from their secret conversation, she knew nothing about.
Though she always felt left out. Even if her and Clem were close friends, she normally felt ignored whenever she was around. Especially around this group of people. No one cared, she didn't have a big enough personality. No one paid attention to her.
Sucking in one last deep breath, she let it out in a sigh. Ember slid out of the car, as soon as it had stopped, and stood waiting for the others to do the same as she had.
Clem stared at Gotham Academy, with its destroyed walls and decaying surroundings. She couldn't bring herself to move, hand fixed on the hand brake after she pulled it up. Jason placed a hand on hers, snapping the girl out of her thoughts.
"Hey. You're gonna be OK. I'm here. Ember's here. Tim and Dick are here. We're all here for you. We'll get Lucy back."
Slumping down to the ground, she sucked in a deep breath of the musty air. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't completely terrible. The sight of the school, half relaxed her. It was better than the prison at least.
The words Jason had spoken before set her straight. Don't get too comfortable, the building was unpredictable. There wasn't a for-sure chance they'd get out alive tonight, but she sure hoped they did.
