Danny checked the time. He had to get back before 10 to take care of the youngest pack members, as usual. 8:30. Early.

Alex let out a breath, leaning back in his seat. "Don't get in another fight, Danny. I won't be there to drag you out of it."
“I didn’t expect you to drag me outta it in the first place.” Danny crossed his arms loosely over his chest. “I was just off my game, dude. I can usually hold my own.”
He ran a hand over his face. "I don't wanna have to visit you in jail." he grumbled. "That'd be fun to explain to my dad. "Yeah, dad, while you're in the hospital, I made friends with a werewolf who got his ass thrown in jail"." he was talking to himself at this point, shaking his head.
“I won’t go to jail if it’s self defense.” Danny mumbled. He knew it wasn’t true, but it was something he liked to tell himself. His head tilted and leaned forward slightly at Alex’s last comment. “Sorry, what was that?” The fact that Alex had specifically pointed out that Danny was a werewolf rubbed him the wrong way. Maybe he was just testy, because he sorta got why, it just.. felt off.
Alex shook his head. "Nothing, sorry. I'm being a bitch. Sorry." he replied, letting out a breath and running a hand through his hair. "My dad's a cop. Ex-cop. He…yeah." he shook his head a little.
Danny nodded. “Sure.” He leaned right back in his seat. “And I know, I think you told me.” He bit at his nails, which were already chipped and gross-looking again in terms of the black polish.
"I did." he replied, pressing the ice pack harder to his neck and shoulders. He glanced at Danny's nails, shaking his head a little.
He caught glimpse of Connor shaking his head. “What, man?” Danny’s eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly, mainly just from confusion.
(might have to go soon, idk)
"Your nails are gross." Alex replied with a faint laugh, shifting the ice pack around and continuing to ice his sore neck and back.
(alright dude, no problem!)
“I mean.. kinda.” Danny laughed. “But that’s the look, man! It’s not like I don’t wash my hands, it’s just nasty-ass nail polish.”
He snorted softly, shaking his head slightly. "Yeah, well. It's rather disgusting looking." he replied, smiling just a little bit.
“Probably doesn’t help that my hands are all fucked up from last night, huh?” Danny fanned his hands out to inspect them. Yeah. They were scratched, bruised, nothing but bad.
Alex shrugged a little bit. "Yeah, well." he replied, stretching slightly.
“Just hope they won’t be too sore to play. I got a gig in a couple days.” Danny frowned in thought. “Who knows, though.”
He frowned a little. "Oh. Yeah, that would be bad. Good luck." he replied. "Maybe try some salve or something?"
“Yeah, I’ll look up some home remedy shit or whatever.” Danny shrugged, tugging on his collar again. “Probably some hippie granola mom out there who posted her bruise healing shit or whatever.”
He laughed, smiling a little bit. "Yeah, probably. There's a billion things out there."
“Watch be like.. two tablespoons of eucalyptus oil and then the harvested cyanide from apple seeds or some shit.” Danny snorted, clearly amused by his own little comments.
He laughed softly, shaking his head a little bit. "Ha, probably."
“I dunno. Maybe I’ll just rub some dirt on it and get on with my day.” Danny picked at his nails, chipping off another sliver of polish.
"That…does not sound like it would work." Alex replied, wrinkling his nose and shaking his head. "That sounds like a bad idea."
“It’s just a saying, man.” Danny looked back up at Alex from his hands. “I’m not literally gonna rub dirt on it.”
(I'm actually about to go offlinnneeee soon sorryyy)
Alex frowned a little bit. "Oh." he replied slowly. "Right. Okay. That makes way more sense."
(no dude don’t worry about it! i don’t mind lmao, im really only active hella late so it makes sense)
“Yeahh, like- y’know, rub some dirt on it and walk it off or whatever.” Danny replied. “Y’know that saying?”
(lmao oof)
He shook his head blankly. "No. I've…never heard of that saying before." he replied slowly, looking at Danny and squinting slightly.
(i'm sorry for that small gap! it may happen more, as i find myself needing to take time away from social media, etc- i'm not abandoning this, don't worry, i just need to take a break sometimes!)
"What?" Danny looked actually surprised. "Wait- you're joking. You've never been told to just walk off an injury or rub dirt on it. That's crazy, man."
(it's totally fine, don't worry about it!)
"I mean…walk it off, yeah, but rub dirt on it?? Never." He shook his head, looking over at Danny with an incredulous expression.
(thank you for understanding!)
Danny shook his head, eyebrows raised somewhat. "Jesus. That's crazy, man." He nibbled on a hangnail on his thumb. "Wow."
(no problem!)
He snorted. "You're the crazy one. Just because I haven't heard a phrase." he shook his head slightly.
