My dog doesn't like me very much, we used to get along really well but then I was on some bad pills and I would get angry and yell and hole myself up in my room, and she'd get scared.

People outside are making me play my least favorite game :)))
Is It A Gunshot Or A Firework?

Update: it seems to be a firework, although two went off at different times and only one had the Firework Sizzle so who even knows?

Oh, that's a fun game. I usually just assume it's gunshots. I'm right more often than not, unfortunately.

It's usually fireworks for me. Hopefully.

The best part is when it's the week of the 4th so it could really be either.

I've gotten used to it, so unless it's particularly far away, I'm usually able to pick out whether it's a gunshot or firework. Both usually happen (fireworks being used as a cover-up) around here, so I just don't go outside to celebrate the 4th.

here in the Country™️, pretty much everyone has a backyard shooting range and a massive flipping heck ton of empty beer cans for target practice
they like to shoot at around sunset, so not late enough to disturb sleep but just the right time to annoy you-

We have the Not-So-Amish neighbor boy that likes using his industrial leaf blower for hours at a time for no fucking reason other than "Wee this is fun!"

Honestly, my neighbours must be sick of me accidentally getting stuff into their backyards.

I was at a shooting range once
I was a small child with anxiety
I did not enjoy it

My only experience with a shooting range is that my great aunt and uncle have one, and last time I was there and my great uncle, grandfather, uncle and his girlfriend went to it and my grandma suggested my sister and I go on a walk and just stay away from where they were
It was a little spooky, but we went exploring
