(I have no ideas, unless Alex had a nightmare and woke Danny up?? idk)
(That’ll work!)
(alright! Want me to do that, then?)
(Yes please!)

Alex was thrashing. Low, quiet noises left his throat, his limbs tangled up in the blankets. He was having another nightmare, some twisted thing of Keats in his head.
Danny might’ve been stretching the truth a little when he said he was a heavy sleeper. Okay, a lot. The noises jolted him awake, his head swiveling in the direction of Alex’s room. He sounded like he was having a nightmare, just like said. The question, though, was whether or not it would be better to leave him alone or knock on his door to see if he could calm Alex down a little.
Alex was tossing, rolling around a little bit, faint whimpers escaping his mouth. His hands fisted in the blankets, and he was shaking.
Danny finally decided to bite the bullet and check on him. He knocked on Alex’s door, lightly at first, trying to see just how asleep he was. “Alex? You okay, brother?”
Alex didn't wake up, still squirming and letting out faint gasping sounds, starting to cry quietly.
Danny knocked a little louder this time, knowing full well how bad of an idea it would be if he just showed up in Alex’s room while he was having a nasty dream.
Alex jolted awake with a ragged sound, sitting up, trembling and looking around the room for a long moment before realizing he was safe.
Danny knocked softly again. “You alright in there?” His voice was soft, but audible enough from Alex’s side of the door.
Alex took a deep breath, letting it out again slowly. "I…" he didn't quite know how to respond. No, he wasn't "alright", but he didn't know…he knew he should just respond with yes and let Danny go back to sleep.
“That sounds like a no, brother.” Danny stretched. He only kind of sounded tired. Chances were, Danny could just tell Alex he couldn’t sleep and that’s why he heard the noises of his nightmare.
"Yeah, you're right." he admitted quietly. He picked up his glass and took a drink, trying to steady himself.
“Thought so. Mind if I come in?” Danny was still on the other side of the shut door, leaning against it with his elbow. His head rested against the door.
"If you want to." Alex replied, voice quiet as he set the drink away, taking a deep breath.
Danny opened the door, raking his fingers through his hair. “So what’s wrong, man?”
"Had a nightmare." Alex replied simply, looking over at Danny. "Just, uhm…Keats. That's all."
“Ay. Shit’s rough, brother.” Danny rocked on his heels. “You good, though?”
"For now." he replied, running a hand through his hair. "Uhm…I'm sorry, by the way. Every time you're over here I'm having some issue or another."
“Nah, it’s fine. This time, technically it’s my issues that even git me here, so it doesn’t count.” Danny grinned lightly. “Nothin’ to worry about, brother.”
He laughed faintly, and nodded slightly. "Right. Okay. If you say so." He replied, taking a deep breath.
“Yeah, I do say so.” Danny snorted. “Lemme know if you need to talk or somethin’, man.”
Alex let out the breath again. "I don't…think so? I mean…I'm usually fine after a few minutes." He replied, shooting Danny a quick smile.
“Yeah? Sure thing. I’ll see ya in the mornin’ then, brother. G’night.” Danny gave him a reciprocal smile and a thumbs-up, then turned tail to go back to the couch.
He nodded a little bit, watching Danny go. "Yeah. Thanks, though, Danny." he gave a faint smile, looking up at the ceiling for a moment.
“Yeah, brother, it’s nothin’!” Danny called, flopping back onto the couch. He tugged the blankets back over himself, stifling a yawn.
Alex got up to close the bedroom door, and took a sip of water, still working on calming down.
