Fiero smirked when he saw her eyeing the queen's throne. So she was ambitious, that was… new. That was leverage. If she wanted to be powerful he could give her power aplenty, and more besides. Witches yearned for magic, for it was just as much a part of them as flesh or blood. He could give her so many spells lost to time and terror, so many things no other person could.

He shook off his thoughts when he saw who she was looking at. A rival of his, one of the few men he'd ever fallen in with. He was a snake, of course, and a terrible person beyond that, but there was something so perfectly horribly clever about him. Fiero couldn't help but keep him around, if only because he was the only person Fi had ever met who provided him with a genuinely enjoyable challenge. He had dressed in grey tonight, close enough to black that it drew eyes. A bold move especially when combined with the way he was eyeing up the witch.

"It is, but I am king." He smirked, taking her hand and leading her down to the dance floor. "These things are all part of my duties." He spun her. "As is keeping my consort in line. Tell me, what about that man draws you in? I can guarantee that he's bad news." Bad news of the best sort, but if Nora knew that she'd never stay away from him.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Nora wasn't even sure herself why she was so captivated by him. Was it his mysterious aura, his handsomeness? When Fiero grabbed her hand, that's when Nora snapped out of her thoughts. "I'm not sure myself." As he led her off to the dance floor, the man smiled and watched her every move. Finally Nora looked away trying to just focus on Fiero. The dance floor cleared, it was amazing how Fiero can clear a room and make people silent just by walking by. He had a certain air about him, and Nora was in awe. "Are we going to show these people how it's done." Nora smirked. When the dance was over, she was going to hunt for her first prey. That's the whole reason she came to this party, well, that and for Fiero to show her off. "I'm getting some jealous glares. You must be popular among the ladies," a slight laugh escaped her lips. Fiero didn't seem like the type girls would list over, but what did she know.

Deleted user

Fiero prided himself on his ability to clear or fill a room at a whim but right now it was something of a nuisance. He was on bad terms with quite a few of his nobles, something about the nation needing a queen in this time of war. He'd snapped back harshly enough that half the people in the room wouldn't even approach him, fearing that he would lash out again. The reaction pleased him, even though he knew he would have to mend the divide somehow. What was a good king if not someone to be loved and feared in equal measure? "Birdy, we're already showing them how it's done." He smirked at her, leading her in one of the simpler dances they'd practiced. It was graceful, requiring more trust that skill from the non-leading partner. "And I suppose some of the women of the kingdom may find me attractive, but I'm afraid the only one I have use for is you. The other ladies are like fat little peacocks and you, my darling, are a hawk."

@Fantasy-Illy!

The analogy he used felt off to her, Nora felt more like a beautiful snake, beautiful but deadly; If you got to close you would get bitten, and Fiero was the sneak charmer. Nora moved gracefully across the floor, her hair and dress flowing behind her. Girls wanted him while guys couldn't keep their eyes off of her.

The man from earlier closely watched the two. He and Fiero weren't close, but Fiero was the only one who stood at the same level as him. Sweeping his hair from his face he put on his fake party smile and walked up to the two. "Your highness." Ky bowed before the King showing his respect, "May I dance with your lady?" Ky heard that the King had actually somewhat tamed the wild black witch, and he wanted to see more. Now, if Fiero refused he would look even worse to everyone than he already did and his little witch would question, which Fiero probably didn't want.

Fiero had been raised in his mother's tradition, in the highland tradition. The people there were famous for their mastery of all feathered creatures, from the frailest pigeon to the darkest vulture. He knew birds. He had been an accomplished falconer since his teenage years and though the days of fame and falconry had been left behind with his youth, he still kept a few in a private aviary. He'd looked so many different ones in the eye and he knew that Nora was a peregrine, deceptively small and graceful, with enough power to take down even the cruelest of condors

Ky, on the other hand, was an eagle. Strong, solitary, and confident. Noble in a way not many others were. Openly predatory. Closing in for a kill, if his smile were to be believed. He wanted to scope out Nora, that much was obvious, but Nora was entirely too interested for him to allow the two to meet. Instead, he let go of Nora's, gestured vaguely towards a gaggle of royal fools ripe for the breaking, and took Ky's hand himself. "Perhaps, if you'll grant me the honor of dancing with you first." It neatly dodged the problems with saying no, and allowed him time to see what Ky really wanted out of this little interaction. "Will you refuse?" All eyes were on them.

@Fantasy-Illy!

"Why of course not, how can anyone refuse a dance with the King." Ky walked out the middle of the dance floor with Fiero and pit his hands in the right position. Ky, unlike Nora, grew up noble and knew exactly what he was doing. Though he wasn't entirely thrilled to be dancing with the King, turning him down wasn't an option. If this would lead to him dancing with Nora he would do it. With a smile he took the lead.

Nora watch in awe, two beautiful men dancing together, it seemed odd to her, but it was mesmerizing nonetheless. Girls watched with a certain look in their eyes, almost like their imagination was running wild. Rolling her eyes Nora left the crowd and went to get something to drink. "You must be the black witch?" A group of men, not much older than her walked up. With one look she could tell that they weren't worth her time, so.. she turned away. "Hey, can't you see we are talking to you?!" With a sigh she turned to them but was met with wine to the face. The people around them gasped, and for a moment everything was still. With the sweetest smile, Nora flicked a bit of wet hair from her face. "I do apologize for my rude behavior. You were just so handsome I became shy." This was her moment. The man froze unsure of what to say, one he was shocked by her reaction and two, he was hypnotized by her beauty. He had made a fool out of himself and the rest of the guests glared at him. Gracefully she walked over and whispered in his ear. "Do that again, and I'll cut your throat." Shivers ran up his spine as he fell to the ground. Nora terrified him, but at the same time he wanted more. She gracefully walked away and the men watched every move.

Ky watched it all go down and he chuckled. "It seems your witch has a way with men." Seeing her make that man fall to his knees with just a few words, made Ky want to see her in really action. He knew of course the King could sense that, he wasn't stupid. Ky went back to focusing on the dance as he tried to have a conversation with Fiero.

Fiero let Ky lead, amused by the awe in the other noble's eyes. He should be in the lead. He ranked far higher than Ky did in any measure of wealth or standing, it should be him spinning the other, and yet he let his favorite enemy spin him this way and that. A favor to Ky's family, people might think, or a sign that he was growing weak. Either would work for Fi. The worse people thought of him the better.

Besides, it wasn't like he was paying attention to the dance. Nora was far more important, already making her rounds and putting the men she came across in their place. He would have been proud if he cared more. "That she does," he replied. "But then again, what consort isn't? I'm sure you've seen her type before Ky, what interests you so much about this one? I can assure you that she's really nothing special, not once you've got a collar around her neck." A lie, and a big one, but important. Ky would never stop going after Nora if he thought she was valuable to him.

@Fantasy-Illy!

"Oh please, you don't think I'll believe that." Ky slightly chuckled, Fiero should know better. "You don't think me or any others have noticed." Removing his hand from Fiero's side he tapped his neck, "The cracks. She's the Black Witch, she's not that weak, so of course I'd be interested," but her power wasn't the only thing he was interested in, he looked over and eyed her for a second before returning to the dance. "She's quite beautiful, nothing like all the other boring ladies here."

Nora walked over to the wall and stood, trying to dry herself off. The wine stunk, and was sticky, Nora could change but this was her favorite dress. Anyone could see the frustration on her face, no matter how hard she tried to hide it. "Hello." Rolling her eyes she made it clear she wasn't in the mood to talk. "So," A blonde open her fan to hide some of her face before continuing "How did you seduce the King?" Of course they would ask that, they were just jealous. "Nothing. Believe it or not," She smiled and looked the blonde straight in eyes, "He came looking for me." The blonde unfazed by this took a step forward and quickly grabbed Nora's face. "You have nothing, no status, no money, what could you possibly offer him." Do they not know who I am? This is going to be fun. "Hm… Looks."She shrugged, Nora knew she was eye catching, unlike the horse faced girls in front of her. "Please, of course he would would choose me. I mean, look at me." A smirk crossed her face. The girl swing her hand so fast Nora couldn't dodge. The sting on her face left her in shock. Did she really just hit me? Nora's blood began to boil. The people close to the gasped, horrified, they knew who she was and they pitied the girl who just hit Nora. "You don't want to mess with me." The purple in her eyes glowed brighter. Now, Nora had no intention to cause a commotion at the King's party, but if they insisted to continue, she wouldn't be able to hold back.

With a smile Ky tilted his head in Nora's direction. "It seems those poor ladies are in trouble." He wanted to see if the King cared, not about the random girls, but cared for Nora even a bit. He could use that to his advantage whether he cares or not.

Fi grimaced internally and spread his lips in an inviting smile. "I'm sure you can see it's a work in progress. Anyone can crack a collar like that, it's a question of determination, not skill." His attention had been flitting across the room, from Nora to the nobles to the man he was dancing with but now his attention was all on Ky, a rather nasty smile on his face. "I'm sure even you could manage it." Ky came from a family of well-regarded warlocks, one of the few sanctioned by the crown to practice magic, and yet Ky had come out without a drop of talent for it. Fiero supposed that was why he spent so much time at court, sharpening his wits and his tongue because they were the only weapons he'd been given.

He smirked when he watched the girl slap Nora, interested in her reaction. Would she cause a scene? Or would she bend to what he wanted and keep herself composed? Or, perhaps best of all, would she nod now, pretend like everything was fine and good, and get the woman back the second her back was turned?

"Yes, it does seem that way." He made no move to break away from their little dance. "But you know the ladies of my court. All so very cruel. I'm sure they can work out this little spat on their own, no need for the king to interfere."

Already the nobles were pressing in around Nora, watching and waiting for a reaction until finally a new contender stepped into the ring. A pretty girl, with eyes like steel and a smile like ice. Her dress was a muted blue that complimented her porcelain skin. Her hair was coal-black, pinned in perfect ringlets behind her head. She was flawless, utterly flawless, and Fiero smirked to see her here. The finest lady of all his courts, the one who may one day become his wife if her family had their way. Madame Mirabella. "My lady." She bowed to Nora, effortlessly sliding between the blonde woman and the angered witch. "Forgive my sister. She merely wished to learn your secret. No consort has been chosen for over a hundred years and even the most beautiful have been turned away."

@Fantasy-Illy!

"I don't care. Keep her under control." For some reason, Nora hated this girl more. Was it because she was beautiful or maybe because she actually had class, whatever the reason, Nora had no intention to lose to her. Taking a deep breath her eyes went back to their original purple. "Hm.. I'm sorry for my rudeness. It's been a long night." With a smile, she grabbed her dress and bowed. This women was of higher status, so it was appropriate for her to bow first. "I am Norabella The Black Witch." When the blonde heard this she stepped back a bit.

Ky hummed as he watched what went down. The more he watched the more he was interested. The song slowly faded and Ky bowed before stepping away and towards Nora. Now he knew Mirabella well, the two had grown up together, their families were close. Ky and her were engaged, that was until Ky and his family realized that he had no warlock talent. "Mira, it's good to see you." Ky had been keeping in the dark for awhile, studying and doing other things to make himself valuable.

Nora heard the voice and was immediately captivated. There was something there, something she couldn't explain. It was a different connection than what she had with the King. He seemed to not care for her though since he went and talked with, Mirabella.. was it. Still, this party was turning out to be a shitty night.

Mirabella didn't blink at the disrespect, pushing her sister back into the throng of people. "Aa much as it pains me to inform you, I am not my sister's keeper." She looked Nora up and down, eyes lingering on the skimpy dress she wore with as much distaste as she was allowed to show in a polite setting. "Though I suppose I can forgive you. You are so new to court after all, and I'm sure even our most gracious king would have trouble training someone as…" She paused, obviously searching for the most appropriate word. "Well, as beastly as you." She laughed softly, and then turned when she heard Ky, giving him a smile so fake it looked like she'd painted it onto her face. "And you know very well, Ky, that you are to address me as Madame. You aren't my betrothed anymore."

She'd been sweet when they were courting, with intelligence beneath the veneer of kindness. Ky had known she was cold, and maybe he'd courted her harder for it but now, when the king was within her grasp, he was far below her aspirations. "And you, darling girl." She took Nora's hands, knowing they had the king's attention and there was no way for the witch to turn her away. Besides, her family was one of the most influential in the kingdom, right below Fiero himself. Nobody would dare turn her down, not unless they were a fool. "Why don't we talk? We ladies need to stick together at court, the men here can be downright predatory."

@Fantasy-Illy!

"No thanks." It was an immediate answer. Nora could care less if the King was here or not, he didn't own her, well…. not entirely at least. Plus, Nora hated this girl and she wanted nothing to do with her. She saw the way Mirabella looked at her, as if she was some slut that just happened to walk in. "I don't need the likes of you. Some proper priss that only follows other rules, a pwan that's what you are. While, sure, I may not be an official queen, you can sure as hell know that i stand far above you." A normal princess over the most powerful Witch, if people had to choose between them, of course they would choose the Witch, she was far more valuable.

Ky chuckled interrupting Nora's thoughts. Clearly angry she turned and gave him a glare. Throwing up his hands he backed away with a playful smile. "I just came to see if you wanted a dance?" It was surprising, she thought he was going to ask Mirabella, not her. But there was something there, she just couldn't turn him down, and it also got her away from these annoying girls. "I would love to." She gave one more look towards Mirabella before walking away. Fiero would choose her… right? If her and Mira were against each other he would choose her. Nora tried to convince herself that she was more important than any of these princesses.

"Let's talk." Ky said as he pulled her closer.

Mira looked cross for a few moments and then she caught Fiero out of the corner of her eye, frowning and frowning and frowning until their eyes met across the ballroom and he gave her a sharp smile, and her face lightened into a cheerful laugh. It was a wild thing, dark and lower than her normal honey-sweet voice would suggest. "Perhaps, but I'm a pawn that's crossing the board, darling." The name was sharp as a razor, piercing. This little witch needed to be put in her place, and Mira knew just the man to do it. "You don't break the king's rules here, you'll learn that soon enough. Or… maybe you've learned it already." Her voice softened with false sympathy "Nasty thing, isn't it? I can't imagine it was pleasant when he had that eye cut out of your head."

Fiero drifted up to them as Ky led Nora away, giving Mira a smile that he didn't bother to polish over. She'd be a good queen, ruthless enough to make him look good in comparison, smart enough to keep out of his way, and proud enough for him to pick her apart like an old tapestry if she ever crossed him. And beautiful too, he supposed. Oh so beautiful. "Mirabella, my lovely." She bowed in greeting and her smile was like his: savage. They didn't hide so much around each other. They didn't play games.

"Fiero." The affection in her voice was real. "I see you've brought a new plaything to court. She's charming, really."

"Don't lie to me, Mira." He took her hand, drawing her out onto the dancefloor. "You think she's horrible, don't you?"

"Oh no, darling." She grinned. His hands landed on either side of her waist, spinning her slowly. "Never. I just think she's a bit slow, is all. You need to get some training in her, poor dear can barely smell the blood in the water even when she's surrounded by sharks."

@Fantasy-Illy!

"Talk? I barely know you, plus I don't feel like talking." Nora was stubborn and anyone could see that, if she didn't like something or someone, she definitely showed it. That was one thing Ky liked, she was fierce, unpredictable, wild, beautiful and so much more. He wanted her and he was about to do anything in his power to get her. "I see the King put a collar on his new dog." Nora frowned at his comment. Her, the Kings dog, yeah right. "This dog bites, so watch it." Ky danced a bit slower so that Nora could follow easily. It was quite for a few seconds, Ky was holding her so close they could feel each other's heart beats. It was weird, Nora thought that she should feel uncomfortable, but it was the opposite. "I'm Ky, by the way." Nora just responded with a hum. She wasn't having any fun and wanted this party to be over. "And you are?" Ky pushed. He was going to get her talking, even if the meant pushing a few of her buttons. "It's only polite to give your name as well." With a sigh she finally looked Ky in the eyes. "Norabella. What is it you really want?" Her magic, she already knew, that's all anyone wanted her for. "Ah, getting straight to the point. How about a walk, to get some fresh air." Taking her hand, Ky led her out the doors and into the garden. It was a chilly night, but it was beautiful. The moon lit up the garden and made the roses look like they glowed. "Nora, the black Witch. I want you to come to my kingdom with me." As Ky talked, Nora watched his breath. He looked even more handsome in the moonlight, his black hair shimmered a bit and his light blue eyes reflected the stars. "You see, I'm a prince of my country, oldest in line." Ah, another King wanting her power. "The thing is I'm not to be King." When those words came out she stopped and looked up at him. Her eyes lingered on him and he just smiled. "My family are warlocks. But me, I was born without any magic, so it is to be my younger brother to be king." Nora pitied him. He was like a lost pup in a family of wolves. But warlocks, she wasn't expecting that. "What does that have to do with me?" They both stood there just looking at one another. "If I bring you back to my kingdom, I would have enough power to become King, and you Queen." It was strange, Nora felt something raise within her, something she had never felt before. "Also," Ky's fingers lightly brushed across her neck till it hit the collar. Nora felt her body got hot, even in the dark Ky could tell that her face was red. "I mean, I don't know." She turned away. There was no way she could answer now. "Well, think about it." Was the last thing he said as he walked away leaving Nora to stand in the garden alone.

Mira watched Nora leave the ballroom from the corner of her eye but Fiero, it seemed, had all his attention focused on her. She preened under the attention, like a peacock flashing its feathers, and they both knew why. She had no idea what Nora had done to gain the king's attention, now when she'd spent so many months carefully salvaging her reputation after the fiasco with Ky. She cultivated every drop of magic in her blood, took every precaution and opportunity to gain his attention and keep it (because that was really the trick, wasn't it? Fi took a passing interest in everyone at one point or another but he never stayed interested) and still some backwater slut had waltzed in and taken him from her.

But still. He was here. He could've followed Nora, could've told Ky off, could've done a million other things to keep his consort by his side and yet he was here, waltzing with her. Grinning that golden grin that made all the ladies of the court collectively swoon. She could see him calculating but for once in her life, she didn't care. This was as good as a victory in her book, this little dance. This was him choosing her, though the little witch may not see it yet.

"Mira, lovely, you're awfully quiet this evening, aren't you?" So Mira thought she'd won, did she? Fi smiled as though he weren't reading her like a book. He could feel every sparkle of attraction Nora felt through their bond and while it was helpful to know how she was feeling it was incredibly disconcerting. Most of the time he wanted to fight Ky, not steal off on some strange romantic tryst with him.

"Ah, many apologies your majesty, I was just wondering whether you'd put any thought into my proposal." Getting her cards on the table early. A smart play, really. It would be a good deal. Mira's family was well connected and filthy rich, with her assets he could easily finish the war. And then… he would be free. Nora was attractive because of her power, yes, but Mira was a well-sharpened tool. She could work the courts as well as any practiced noble, could keep the public on her side despite the fact that she was, in reality, quite rotten. A good queen, that's what she would make.

"I have, in fact." He led them over to the balcony, giving her a soft smile. "I've been thinking of it quite a lot as of late. You're no stranger to me, Mirabella. You know how I must consider these things."

"Yes, but I'd say the time for consideration is long over now, my king."

He laughed. "That it is, lovely. Luckily for the both of us my mind is made up. We are… well suited to each other. You understand me in a way no other creature has." He knelt down, rolling his eyes internally at the flowery prose. High class ladies needed so much wooing, but the payout would be worth it. It always was with this kind of thing. "Mirabella LaMontagne, would you accept from me a courtship with the hope to be married come spring?"

@Fantasy-Illy!

(This is getting good!)
Nora stared at the moon, almost as if having a conversation with it, that was until the bond on her wrist started to burn a bit. She had completely forgotten about the bond she had made, that was one thing that would be in the way of her choosing Ky. Did she really even want to choose Ky, sure there was something there, though she hated to admit it, Nora felt something with Fiero as well. No he's just using you, as well as Ky. No one would fall for a witch. This was something she thought about for a while. If only she was born normal, than maybe she would fall in love with no strings attached. Whincing at the pain, Nora turned to head back inside, till something stopped her, Fiero down on one knee in front of Mira. Her heart stopped, but only for a moment. Damn it! re-composing herself she took a deep breath and made her way back to the castle. What she didn't notice is that the collar had completely fallen off. Making her way back inside, she saw a crowd around the two cheering and clapping, well everyone except the girls who were jealous, that included Mira's sister. A small chuckle escaped her lips, she began clapping and moving forward. When she got close enough people parted. "Congratulations." She put on a sweet smile, making it as genuine as possible. "Fiero darling, I'm feeling faint, I'm going to head back to my room now." With a graceful turn she walked away.

Ky standing at the edge of the stairs watched everything go down, Fiero only made it easier for him to get Nora in his hands. "Please, won't you let me walk to your-" Before he could finish her saw that the collar was gone. This could be his chance to see her full power. Quickly Nora lifted her hand with a smile. "Thank you for the offer Sir, but I'm able to handle myself quite well. I don't need a puppy following me around." Ky tried hard but he couldn't hold back his laughter. "I see, you are quite right. I hope to see you in the near future." With one last bow he headed for the door, there was no need for him to be there anymore. Nora continued up the stairs, as all the guests were still occupied by the sudden proposal.

(yeah it is!!)

Fiero gave her a soft smile. "I'm not your darling, birdy, but by all means go up to our rooms." Mira seemed overjoyed at the way Fi had snubbed his witch, the very picture of a grinning bride until you looked closer and saw the sadism in the smile on her face. Fi turned back to her, something like love shining in his eyes, and she schooled her smile back into something small and sweet and docile. Fi pretended like he didn't notice. "I'll join you once I'm finished here. We have… much to discuss." His grin went from sweet to salacious in a second, holding her gaze long enough for the whole court to get a good look.

Mira didn't seem pleased, clearing her throat softly. "My love, I've accepted your engagement. Wouldn't it be wise to spend the night with me instead? I am your bride to be."

Fi tilted his head, raising the back of her hand to his lips as he pulled himself to his feet. "That you are, my dove, but it would be improper for me to take advantage of a maiden in such a way before she is married. Surely you wouldn' wish for me to be anything but a proper gentleman?"

"A gentleman with a consort?" She raised an eyebrow at him and he laughed.

"A gentleman who's only 23, darling." He tiled Mira's chin up with a sultry grin, leaning in to ghost his lips across her cheek. "Surely you want me to know what I'm doing on our wedding night." The whisper was so quiet she was the only one who could hear it. Unlike many women, she didn't gasp or smack him or give him a scandalized look, she simply trailed her gaze over him and laughed softly.

"I suppose I'll concede then, won't I? Any husband of mine must be the best of the best, I'll accept no less."

He chuckled once more and kissed her cheek. "Then I suppose I'll need to practice, won't I?" They grinned at each other for a few seconds before they broke the stare with a laugh, gliding back into the dance floor together.

"Yes, I suppose you will. Now why don't you go to bed, I'm sure you consort as a great need of you."

@Fantasy-Illy!

As soon as the door closed behind her, Nora undressed out of her sticky wine covered dress. "Maids get a bath running." Nora was stern and didn't care how mean she sounded at the moment. Nora wanted sleep to forget all about tonight. Scrambling the maids quickly headed toward the bathing room. Unpinning her hair, Nora sighed, tonight definitely didn't go as planned. Looking at her wrist, she let her fingers trace over it. "Guess I didn't need this." Why would she do something as stupid as bond magic anyway. She could easily undo it, but would never tell Fiero about it. Only the person who cast the spell can undo it. "Ma'am, your bath is ready." Perfect. She walked in and waved for the maids to leave. The smell of roses and herbs filled the air. The bath was steaming and felt nice on her cold sticky body. Nora thought back to what Ky said. If she went with him she could easily become Queen, and would as she pleased. Ruling her own country did sound nice. A Witch that was wandering the streets, to Queen of her own country. But did she really want to be tied down to a throne?

Fiero took his time wandering up to Nora's room, slowly stripping off the various pieces of his suit. The jacket went first, slung over the back of the chair by the desk, then the tie, set off on one of the shelves of the bookcase, then vest and shoes. "Honey, I'm home." His smile was quickly slipping off his face, gone with the rest of his clothes. He wondered what Ky had been talking to Nora about, what he'd offered her. Ky had the same instincts Fi did, which meant he wanted Nora for his own. No matter what deals he made, what pretty sunshiney words he told her, he considered her an object for him to possess the same way Fiero did. At least Fi was honest about the ways he wanted to use her. He started stripping off his shirt, carefully undoing each button before he let it fall to the floor. "Where are you, I thought you said you were coming up to your rooms?" The closets were full of clothes that would fit her, but Fi had the dresser packed full of things for him, just in case the maids felt like snooping. Everyone in this palace was so nosy, it got tiring. Mira would have his back, sure, but even that would fade with time if he didn't keep up appearances. He slipped on a nightshirt, kicking off his pants before he settled in bed.

@Fantasy-Illy!

"I'm bathing." Nora said annoyed, waving her hand, even though he couldn't see her. This whole night was just exhausting. Sleep was the only thing she wanted at this moment, but she was too lazy to leave the bath. A few more minutes. "How is your precious Mira doing?" The thing about Mira coming to live here, is that the two would be at each other's throats when others weren't around. Nora dislikes her, and Mira already knows that. The thing is, Mira better watch herself, because Nora could turn her to ash if she felt like it. Something started to bubble up from inside her, anger. It felt like as if she was finally about to explode. It wasn't until she saw a bubble come from the water that she understood that she was getting a bit out of control. Taking a deep breath, Nora decided it was best to get out. Slipping out of the bath, Nora's long hair almost touched the ground. The thought of anyone taking her place as number one irritated her. On the counter laid her housecoat that the maids left for her. After putting it on Nora headed for the door. "I'm assuming most of the guests are leaving." If the King were leaving the party, what would be the point in everyone staying. Gracefully, Nora waltzed over to the bed and sat on the edge of it. At this moment she could barely look at him, so instead she looked out onto the balcony.

(poppin' brouhaha is peak slang though, I'm never saying the word party again)

Fiero humphed and grabbed his book off the bedside table, flopping over onto his stomach to make for more comfortable reading. His legs swung lazily behind him, like he was kicking through water instead of air. "Mirabella is fine, darling, not that you really care. What makes you dislike her so?" In his mind, the two could be friends. Nora had what Mira lacked in raw power, Mira had what Nora lacked in political maneuverability. They'd be unstoppable if they could get along for more than three seconds. He glanced up at Nora entered the room, and then scooted over to the edge of the bed to give her space. "And I'm not sure you'd be right in your assumptions. The nobility loves to go wild when I'm away, they'll rage on from dusk until dawn if I don't officially end things." The nobles needed time to work of steam, Fi was more than happy to give it to them in a place where he could monitor all the gossip and keep them penned in from the rest of the citizens. "Why do you care, anyways? High society life isn't exactly thrilling to you, if tonight's performance was any indication."

"Is curiosity a sin?" Nora turned to look over her shoulder. "I'm not used to things like this." She decided to ignore the question about Mira, since it made her burn with anger. Tossing her long hair to one side she began to braids it. It was a hassle to have such long hair, so Fiero better be grateful. It may look more feminine, though Nora never thought about such things. "I do apologize for my barbaric behavior tonight, it seems my lowlife childlike self had come to say hello." With a smile, she turned and sat beside him. They did seem to get along when they were alone, with others around though, Fiero seemed to be unbearable for Nora. Just the fact that Mira would be Queen, shook Nora to the core. The night was beautiful and she wished she could wander the garden again, the wind against her skin and the moonlight was such a sight.

"Perhaps now where you grew up." Fi glanced over to watch her toss her hair, admiring the look of it. There was something so graceful about long hair, something he'd always admired. "But here it is best not to speak until spoken to. Especially when your… lowlife childlike self, as you so eloquently put it, comes out to play so often." He grinned over at her, turning back to his book after a few seconds. Nora had a rather nice smile when she wasn't trying to impress anybody. Granted she had a nice smile even when she was tossing it on for show, but there was something much better about getting Nora in her natural state. "You'll have to control yourself better when my fiancee comes around, of course. I understand your hatred for her, of course I do, but it would serve you well to at least pretend to get along with her. Mirabella is a powerful woman."

@Fantasy-Illy!

"I'll do my best." Her voice was soft and sweet. She did her best to be on the Kings good side, but she also felt like he liked the natural her more. Putting on a show was something she never liked. Laying down she thought of many things, her childhood, her mother and where she had ended up. Her mother wouldn't think that Nora would end up in the castle, in fact, she tried to keep Nora away from people like Fiero. "What are we doing tomorrow?" There was always something to do, or at least that's what Nora thought. Fiero must be busy, and there must be a way she can help or a job she could do. As Fiero read she listened to his breathing, it was quiet, but she could hear it. It was relaxing to her. The thought of being used for only her power was a bit irritating, but she wasn't alone anymore and that, that was what was comforting.

Fi leaned into her as she laid down, body subtly tilting so he could glance at her out of the corner of his eye. What had Ky offered her? A position as a consort of his? A position of power in his kingdom? Access to their magical libraries? He couldn't see why she would find any of them attractive and yet he had felt the excitement fizzing in his veins as she thought of it. Maybe it was that she fancied Ky. That would explain the excitement, he supposed. And the host of other uncomfortable emotions that swam through him faintly whenever she spoke to Ky. He wondered what she felt when he spoke to Mirabella, if she even knew how to suss out the emotions that filtered through the bond. "I have a few meetings to attend, which you can tag along to if you wish but would undoubtedly find horrifically boring. There are some petitioners coming in, so you could could help to advise if that's your cup of tea, and then I have a dinner with Mira, which you're welcome to chaperone."

@Fantasy-Illy!

Nora thought for a moment, thinking how boring the meeting might actually be, honestly she hated being bored. "I think I'll walk around and take a tour of the castle. Since being here she hasn't seen much. "But, if you need me at any point," tapping her wrist she gave him a smile, "you know how to call me." Though she hoped if he did need to call her it would be to put someone in their place, or maybe scare someone. "Goodnight." She turned over away from him, she felt vulnerable when sleeping. What will tomorrow bring? Drifting to sleep she had no dreams, which was rare since usually she had nightmares every night.

(I've been thinking about it for a while, but I need a break. Everything that's been going on lately is really dragging me down, so I'm going to take some time to reconnect with friends and the family I don't get to see every day. I'm sorry for springing this on you, but I'm honestly really drained and I need to take a little time away. I'll be back in two weeks, so don't worry about me abandoning this rp, and I hope you stay happy in the meantime!)

@Fantasy-Illy!

(That's totally understandable. I hope you have a good time with family and friends. Everyone needs a break from time to time. Relax and enjoy your break.)
