“Guess that’s fair enough, yeah.” Danny lightly tested the split in his lip, recoiling at the sharp pain as if he didn’t expect it.
“Guess that’s fair enough, yeah.” Danny lightly tested the split in his lip, recoiling at the sharp pain as if he didn’t expect it.
Alex frowned slightly. "Don't do that to your mouth, Danny. Let it heal."
“I am lettin’ it heal. I just wanted to see if it was still bleeding.” Danny mumbled the last part.
"Don't check to see if it's still bleeding!" Alex sounded exasperated. "You'll just make it bleed again!"
“Wh- ugh! what am I supposed to do then?” Danny rubbed his hand off on his pants leg. “Just leave it?”
"Yes, if you can imagine that. You just leave it." Alex replied, shaking his head a little bit.
“That sounds hard. I dunno if I like that idea.” Danny snickered, taking the ice pack off of his eye.
He rolled his eyes. "Of course you don't." he replied, sighing softly.
(gtg soon sorry)
(goodnight!)
“Hey, how bad’s this shiner? I haven’t taken a peek yet.” He pointed to the black eye (which was bad enough to where his eye was partially swollen shut, but he didn’t seem to mind). “Is it cool, at least?”
Alex shook his head. "It's…pretty bad, Danny. And no, I don't think it's cool. Bruises aren't "cool"." he let out a breath.
(sorry i’ve only been responding pretty late as of recently, i’m trying to spend less time on my phone n shit!)
(but i’m definitely not abandoning this, dw!)
“I’m just messin’. Makin’ the best of a bad situation.” Danny mumbled with a tiny huff.
(it's okay!)
"Okay. Okay." he replied softly. He sighed quietly, running a hand through his hair. "You're, uhm, welcome to stay here tonight, if you want."
“That’s nice of ya. Probably get inta another fight if I gotta try to walk back to the apartment right now.” Danny scratched at the base of his ear.
(I actually might have to go soon, sorry)
Alex let out a faint laugh. "Yeah, that would be a problem. I can set you up with blankets and stuff on the couch, if you like."
(it’s no issue, sorry i got on so late!)
“You don’t have to do that, brother, if it’s a bother. I sleep on the couch at home anyways.” Danny stretched again, this one accompanied by a small, doggish yawn.
(it's fine!)
"Nah, 's fine." he got up, and grabbed a pair of pillows and some blankets from the closet, setting them on the arm of the couch.
“Oh, thanks!” Danny said brightly, taking the folded blankets into his arms and holding onto them. “Nice of ya to do.”
Alex smiled a little, and nodded. "Mhm. Uhm…I don't always sleep too well, so if you hear me moving around during the night…sorry." he shrugged a little bit. "I might pace for a while, or sometimes I have bad nightmares."
“‘ts fine, man, nothin’ I never heard of before. I’m a heavy sleeper.” Danny reassured him, leaning back. “Doe’n’t bother me none.”
"Alright." he replied, sitting down again and letting out a breath. "I'll try not to wake you up, though."
“Thanks, brother.” Danny stretched again, crossing his legs. “Thanks again for lettin’ me crash here.”
"Yeah, no problem." Alex replied, finishing up his water and getting up to put it in the kitchen. "You're free to use the bathroom or kitchen or whatever if you need."
“Sure thing, sure thing.” Danny nodded, rolling his shoulders. He rubbed his non-bruised eye. “I’m not tryna be rude, but I might fall asleep pretty soon.”
"That's fine, I was actually planning on heading to bed soon." he replied with a soft laugh. "Do you want any water before I head to my room?"
“Uh- nah, man, I’m okay. Thanks though.” He nodded, a grateful smile on his face.
"Alright, no problem." he headed for his room. "Good night."
“G’night!” Danny called in response, settling down on the couch. He wrapped the blankets around himself, trying to sleep despite the dull pains.
Alex closed the door to his room, changing into his pajamas and crawling into bed.
Danny fell asleep, blocking any residual light with his arm. He snored softly, shallowly, his chest rising and falling in a steady motion.
(Gtg soon probably, sorry)
Alex took a deep breath, and eventually fell asleep, curled up beneath his blankets.
