Cas mentally cursed himself for not expecting that. He was clearly a bit surprised, but not angry. He tentatively returned the kiss, but he'd never kissed anyone before, so he wasn't quite sure what to do.
Cas mentally cursed himself for not expecting that. He was clearly a bit surprised, but not angry. He tentatively returned the kiss, but he'd never kissed anyone before, so he wasn't quite sure what to do.
Sorrel, after some seconds more, pulled off from the kiss. He was astonished that he didn't get pushed away, it had him smiling wildly. After it hit him, he backed up a little. "Oh my God, I just kissed you-!" He screamed a little bit, but restricted his volume.
Cas jumped at the sudden loud noise, his face pretty much completely red. "I… y-yeah, you… you did." He laughed breathlessly, his heart fluttering.
Sorrel felt relieved, to say the most. His mind raced with so many words, yet he chose only a few to voice his current feelings. "I hope things can feel this good, forever." He whispered, brightly. The fireworks seemed to be invisible at this point, only Cas mattered to him.
Cas nodded in agreement. He felt the same way, but a particularly loud firework startled him out of his thoughts. Nix rubbed up against him to calm him down.
Sorrel noticed Nix's movements, but simply assumed the cat was what Cas needed most. He tried his best to pay attention to the sky.
Cas turned his eyes back to the fireworks, stroking Nix and soon seeming to relax. "I'm glad I met you." He said softly after a bit.
Sorrel almost stopped breathing then. Cas's words shook him to his core. He sputtered as he tried to respond, though, being unable to comeup with something new to say. "I…"
Cas looked over at Sorrel when the other started making strange noises. "You okay? Did I say something wrong?"
"I don't know how to erm, respond. You've got me tongue tied." He said, with a great feeling taking over him. "I haven't been speechless in a while."
"S-Sorry…" Cas replied softly, still looking up at Sorrel. "Is… is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
"Good, completely." Sorrel promised the other, before breaking into a yawn. "Oops," He mumbled.
Cas yawned as well, holding Nix close to his chest. "That's good… I don't wanna upset you."
"You probably can't, at this point." Sorrel said, before catching Cas's yawn. "You're tired, too?" He asked, with a laugh.
"Not really, but you yawned and I was watching you, I guess." Cas shrugged, humming softly to himself. The fireworks show was almost over by now.
"Oh, really?" Sorrel got himself off of the pier's floor carefully, and sighed. "I wish this night never ended, I could be here forever." He mumbled, happily.
Cas looked up at Sorrel from the ground. "Same… best night I've had in a long time. Probably ever, actually."
Sorrel decided on a new goal then. He'd have to abandon his old goal to make sure every day Cas had was great. "I'm sure this isn't the first time you'll say that." He muttered, to where Cas may have missed it. "Well, that sounds good." He said, covering up his other words.
Cas nodded and got to his feet as well, seeming to not have noticed Sorrel's comment. "Should we head back? It's getting kinda late…"
"Sure then, if you say so." Sorrel responded. He reached out a hand, towards Cas, attempting a hand hold all on his own. The guy was so much smaller than him, and yet, so much better at a lot.
Cas took Sorrel's hand and moved a little closer to the other, cradling Nix in his free arm. He looked up at Sorrel expectantly since he didn't know the way home.
Sorrel nodded, a simple, wordless reply to Cas. He began to walk back home, as random lights began to shut off. Few lights remained on as the final firework left its sparkles in the night sky.
Cas walked beside Sorrel, silently, glancing back to watch the last of the fireworks fade. Tonight really had been fun.
"So, I hope we get some rest," Sorrel yawned. "Tomorrow's got plans, filled all the way up," He murmured, happily.
"Really?" Cas looked up at Sorrel questioningly. "What kinda plans?"
"You'll see," He whispered, sweetly. He noticed his house was only a minute of walking away, they seemed to have been walking quickly. He didn't notice it at all.
Cas sighed. "Now I'm gonna be all anxious about it!" He whined. He was growing a bit tired from the faster pace, but he never complained.
"Don't be anxious, kitten." Sorrel said, slightly demandingly. He turned into his house's driveway, and approached the door. He unlocked it, and held it open for the adorable other.
"Well, I can't exactly help it…" Cas stroked Nix a bit as he walked inside. "But I guess I'll try…"
Sorrel smiled at Cas's willingness to at least attempt being brave. He dragged himself into his living room, plopping down on his couch. "Too tired to walk into my room," He mumbled, with a laugh.
