Luna watched him and nodded. She quickly got up after him and grabbed a towel. "Well, Goodnight." she said as she started to make her way out of the room.

"Where is Strawberry?" Hunter questioned. "I've never seen her before."

(Sorry, I was at work!)

"She lives at my parents' house. My apartment doesn't allow pets," Kenzie explained quietly, looking back down at her lap.

Hunter fell silent once more, bringing his thumb to his mouth and lightly biting it.
“When I was a child, I secretly kept a pet in Mother’s garden,” Hunter started. “It was a hamster, and whilst I knew that my father would never approve, I still kept it.”

(YAY! I'm glad you're back! That's totally fine! I've been busy, too.)

Kenzie gave Hunter an odd look. "Are you suggesting that I secretly sneak my cat into my apartment? 'Cause I think I could get kicked out if anyone found out…"

Hunter blinked before chuckling.
“What? No!” He laughed. “I’m merely telling the story of my first pet. I named him Flash, because he was extremely fast. He was the best pet ever.” Hunter then paused. “Well, he was my only pet.”

"Oh, good," Kenzie said, a small smile lifting the corners of her lips. Her smile fell slightly as Hunter finished speaking. "I'm guessing someone found out about him?" she asked quietly.

Hunter grinned as if the memory was a fond one.
“Oh, yes,” he replied. “After a week, Flash started escaping the gardens. He ended up escaping to Father’s regular meetings with his partners in his study. I begged him to let me keep the hamster. I promised him that I’d take care of him and that Flash would never bother him. The ironic thing is that Father didn’t punish me for disobeyning him. He actually let me keep the hamster. I was only six at that time and I thought that maybe my father wasn’t too bad after all.” Hunter’s face twisted in a scowl. “Father might be a monster but he didn’t favor animal cruelty. One night Flash grew terribly sick and died. I was miserable. Mother tried her best to cheer me up but I loved that hamster to death. I was extremely attached. I never went anywhere without it. When it died, it was like a part of me died, too. Later that night I realized my father only let me keep the hamster because he knew it would break me if Flash died. He served it as sort of a lesson. He was a monster like that.” Hunter snapped out of the memory and then shook his head.
“That was supposed to be a nice memory,” he muttered. “I really don’t have pleasant childhood memories I could talk about. Talk about your childhood, Kenz.”
