"Six?" Cas asked, a little confused. "How big are they?" He watched the process curiously, still eating his cotton candy while doing so.
"Six?" Cas asked, a little confused. "How big are they?" He watched the process curiously, still eating his cotton candy while doing so.
"Six inches long, normally. I'll eat three, haha." He said. Churros were kinda small, but they packed a bunch of flavor. Sorrel paid the cashier as he received the churros, taking three in his hand. He passed the others to Cas.
"That's kinda big." Cas accepted the churros and thanked both the cashier and Sorrel while he examined them curiously. After a few seconds, he took a bite of one and seemed pleased with the taste.
Sorrel gently fluffed Cas's hair up. "Cinnamon-y taste, right? I love them, I'd say they taste like heaven." He whispered. He'd never eaten heaven before, but if it was going to have a taste, cinnamon had to be it.
"Mhmm. It's good." Cas took another bite, humming softly in satisfaction. He didn't particularly care that Sorrel had mussed his hair up.
Sorrel blushed a little bit. He ate his churros, wrapping one of them in the last it of cotton candy he had. Sugar overload, but he didn't care at all. He looked at the sunset in the distance, noticing how low it was already. "Fireworks are gonna be in about thirty minutes."
"Cool. What do you want to do until then?" Cas asked, finishing his first churro and moving onto the next.
"I don't know. Have you ever played fair games?" Sorrel asked, with sparkling eyes.
Cas shook his head. "No. I've never been to a fair before."
"You have to play toss-the-ring then." Sorrel said, instantly. He walked with Cas towards this place with a load of bottles, and a ring. "Hey hey hey! You two playing?" The worker asked. "Of course." Sorrel responded, with delight. The game's worker handed the two one ring a piece. "Toss it onto a bottle. If you succeed, you get something."
Cas accepted the ring and tried to figure out what he was supposed to do. Alright… just aim for the bottles, right? Seems pretty easy. I know how to throw things relatively accurately. He tossed the ring. It hit the bottle he was aiming for and bounced off, but caught itself and spun around the neck of an adjacent bottle.
( woo!! )
Sorrel followed Cas, aiming for his own bottle nearby. His ring hit the bottle he wanted it to, with a loud sound. "Ooh, I see, great work. Pick a prize on the wall." The worker said. Many stuffed animals hung up there, of many types. Sorrel put a hand on his chin as he thought about which one he wanted.
Cas thought for a few seconds before choosing a stuffed cat for himself. He placed Nix on his shoulder so he could hold it while he waited for Sorrel.
Sorrel pointed at a butterfly, and he held onto it happily. "Great work, you two! Have fun tonight!" The worker exclaimed. He barely had time to breathe before another few people took to his stand. Then, a few comms spoke around them. "The firewords are starting in five minutes, five minutes." Sorrel smiled. "Follow me!" He said, walking kinda fast to the pier.
Cas trotted after him, a little more prepared this time. "I'm excited!" He grinned, stopping at the pier when they reached it. He was breathing a little heavier than normal, but nothing much.
Sorrel carefully sat down at the edge of the pier, water lapping just below his shoes. The end particles of the sunset reflected off of the water, beautifully complimenting the new stars. "I'm so glad you're here for this," Sorrel mumbled, just loudly enough for Cas to hear.
"Me too." Cas smiled softly, sitting down beside Sorrel and resting his head on the other's shoulder. The water wasn't near his feet like it was for Sorrel.
( lol )
Sorrel slipped an arm around the other, as a firework took to the sky. A ripple of cold went through him, and it settled down as he realized it was completely alright. "Fireworks, a fair, and a perfect new friend, could life get any better?"
Cas jumped when the firework was suddenly sent up, huddling a little closer to Sorrel. At the question, he blushed a bit and shook his head. "It's pretty good…" He murmured in agreement.
Sorrel laughed, softly, but remained silent. He saw no reason to speak again, as the many lights exploded in the night sky. His smile explained how he felt, completely. He leaned into Cas, careful not to go overboard with his newer movement.
Cas smiled softly as well, his eyes reflecting the bright fireworks in the sky. "It's so beautiful here…" He kept his voice soft, like before. He didn't want to ruin the moment by being loud. Nix was curled up contentedly in Cas's lap.
Sorrel nodded, as an extremely big firework let itself shine above the two. "It really is," He whispered, admiring Cas's attentiveness to the quiet. He giggled, as he looked towards Cas, being subtle as he could.
Cas was watching the fireworks and didn't notice Sorrel looking at him. He scratched behind Nix's ears, prompting the cat to purr softly. The quiet noise was occasionally audible between fireworks.
Sorrel looked at Cas's featured, for what seemed like the millionth time. Then, he looked at Cas's lips, for the first time. Soft, sweet things, he thought. "You're so… sweet." He mumbled, on accident.
Cas blushed a bit and looked over at Sorrel, seeming a bit confused. "How so?" He asked. Nix looked up when Cas paused his petting.
Sorrel leaned closer to the other, somehow not appearing aggressive. "Your face, it shines under the light of the fireworks," He mumbled, again, on accident. He wasn't meaning to spill his feelings, not like this. "U-Uh,"
Cas flushed harder, his eyes wide, but not with fear. "Um… th-thanks, I guess?" He laughed nervously, a little flustered grin appearing on his face.
Sorrel bit his tongue to restrain himself from saying his next words. He wanted to kiss the guy, to be very blunt, but he didn't know if he would be alright with that. "I-Impulses, I swear," He mumbled, with a cautious laugh. He rubbed the hair behind his neck.
"No, no, it's okay. I kinda like impulsive, remember?" Cas's smile softened as he looked up at Sorrel fondly. He hadn't known the guy long, but he'd grown to rather like him.
Sorrel gently held Cas's face in his hands, and sweetly brought him the smallest bit closer. "I hope you don't mind this, then," He whispered, before his lips met the other's for the first real time.
