Jas stood and took the empty plates to the counter to be rinsed off before they went into the dishwasher. "do want to keep the food we didn't eat for tomorrow?"

"Ah-sure!" Axel smiled. "I'm stuffed. I haven't had a dinner like that in a long time." Axel's smile faded. "I have a question to ask you."

Jas turned and tilted his head, walking over and kneeling next to Axel, noticing his fading smile "of course, is everything alright?"

"Yeah…about your sister…do you still want to go back to her…are you okay with leaving her…?" Axel sighed.

Jas blinked a few times and took Axel's hand in his, stroking it gently as he thought.
"I'd love to see her once more, I'd love for her and for my parents in this life to meet you. But I don't know if thats a good idea. I don't know how i'd act around them now…would they notice the change?"

"I don't know. I'm sorry when you didn't have your memories it felt like you'd choose your family over being with me, that's fine, you just never implied that you wanted to stay before, so…I didn't know if you wanted to go back to them or not…I'm sorry, I'm being selfish right?" Axel shook his head. "Just forget I said it. Let's go to bed." He got up and walked back to the bedroom.

Jas followed him to their bedroom and pulled him into a secure hug before Axel got a chance to sit down. "You're my family. I will always and forever choose you. Yes I do love my parents and I'll miss my sister but they'll understand. you have every right to be selfish. After everything that's happened, you have every right to be selfish." he kissed his head and started to lightly sway with Axel in his arms. "I'm yours my love, forever and always. No matter what."

Axel hugged him back. "I just don't want you to be mad at me for feeling this way. I though you might get mad…"

He shook his head "No, I'm not mad. If anything, I'm glad you still feel the same, considering how long it has been since we've been properly together." he kissed his brow and rested his head on top of Axel's

“Too long…” Axel whispered and then kissed Jas. He wrapped his arm around Jas’s neck to deepen the kiss.

Jas melted into the kiss, cradling the back of Axel's head to hold him in place. His other hand rested on his back, gently tracing the length of his spine. He pulled back gently, still close enough for their lips to touch. Jas gazed at him through his eyelashes, the hand holding his head now came to brush his cheek "i've missed you my vampire, so so much."

"I missed you too, my knight and shinning armor." He whispered. "But…" He looked at the table. "We have to clean up first." Axel went and started putting the extra food away.

He chuckled softly and followed to help with the table, washing minor dishes and putting the food into containers for later.
"I didn't hurt you, right? when i didn't have my memories or much of my soul?" he asked, once they had finished clearing the table and they had a moment to rest

Axel looked over "Physically or emotionally?" Axel sat up on the counter and swung his legs.

Jas flinched and looked away "i don't remembering hurting you physically, so I guess the latter. Though that wouldn't be any better…." he sat down in a chair "any way, did I ever hurt you when I didn't have my memories or soul?"

"Well, you did say that you might not be ready to be with me or live with me somewhere that's not here. But we already situated that, so nothing, I guess. Don't worry about it." Axel smiled softly.

Jas nodded, his hands clenching slightly in his lap. He released a breath he didn't realize he had been holding and looked up at Axel. "anything else? I remember you crying for some reason and a party… did I do anything then?"

"No, no, I was mad that you didn't remember me. That's all." Axel smiled and kissed his forehead.

"oh…ok." He leaned into the kiss gently and stood, hugging Axel again "Do you still hate me for that?" he asked softly, playing the the hair at his nape.

"How could I hate you for something you can't control?" Axel giggled.

he smiled softly and shrugged "I don't know." he nuzzled the top of his head and hugged him tight "thank you my love," he whispered softly, swaying with him and humming

"For what?" Axel asked. He swayed with him, loving the little moment they were having.

"For not giving up on me. loving me despite me not being able to remember a thing from our past life." he tilted his head back to gaze at Axel and gently stroke his cheek "for fighting when i couldn't."

Axel leaned into his hand. "Don't beat yourself up about it. It's in the past now. What I think we should do is, go to our bed and cuddle."

He chuckled softly and nodded "I'm absolutely fine with that." He kissed his head and led them to their bedroom

Axel closed the door and kissed him softly, leaning forward so Jas would fall on the bed with him. "Is that what was on your mind?"

Jas smiled and snuggled with Axel into the blankets. “Mmm, it was indeed my love.” He reaches beneath his shirt and rested his hands on his back. “I love you, so very much.”

Axel's face began to turn red. Axel leaned down and kissed Jas. "You're such a flirt." Axel laid down next to Jas with a giggle. "So how does this adoption thing work? We fill out the form and now what?"

He sighed at the kiss, pulling him closer when the other settled beside him. "Now we wait for a call from their offices. I assume they'll set up an appointment soon to meet with us in person and things will go from there."

Axel nodded. He pressed his ear to Jas's chest and listened to his heartbeat. "The sound of your heart is soothing."
