Lysander smiled and kissed her back. ”Here you go, sweetie. Princess for the day.” he chuckled as he put the crown on their daughter's head.

Laura-Beth laughed happily, adjusting the toy crown. ”Princess.” she smiled and looked at the giraffe.

Betty winced going to the kitchen she went to the kitchen pulling down bottle of pills she took about four different pills

Lysander heard the pill bottle rattle and gave a small sigh, wishing there was something he could do to help his wife.

”Daddy? Is mama ok?” Laura-Beth asked.

Lysander smiled gently at the three-year-old. ”I’m sure she's fine. Probably just making sure everything is ready for your birthday.” he told her.

Betty made her hands into fists drawing blood with her fingernails the bloodrunning down her fingers

Lysander smelled the blood and stood up. ”I’ll be right back, baby girl.” he told Laura-Beth softly before walking over to Betty. ”Are you alright?” he asked.

she opened her eyes and looked at him and wiped away a tear with her clothed arm ¨Y-yeah¨

”You’re bleeding.” He shook his head a little and hugged her. ”It’s ok if you're not but I’d rather if you just tell me.” he said kindly.

¨I Do this all the time¨ she said opening her fists revealing cresent shaped cuts

”I know. Some kind of nervous habit?” he told her, that's what he had figured at least. ”What about the pills?”

" thier depression anxiety and emotional numbness pills" she said

He raised a brow slightly. “I’ve never heard of emotional numbness pills…” he commented. ”But if you need to talk to me about anything, you can. You know that right?” he asked, gently brushing back some of her hair.

She shrugged " it doesn't matter" she said

”Yes, it does.” he told her gently. ”If something is bothering you, I want to be able to help you.”

She sighed but nodded

He held her a bit closer. ”I love you.”

" I love you too" she said

”Are you going to be ok for the party or do you want to just make it the three of us?” he asked, glancing at her bloody palms.

" no it's alright" she said

”Alright, love.” he nodded softly and kissed her temple. ”You should probably wash off the blood before our little Dhampir sees it.” he attempted to joke a little.

She winced slightly running a hand under the faucet

He frowned a little at seeing her in pain but kissed her cheek. ”I’ll go and make sure Laura-Beth’s still playing with her new toy.” he told her.

She nodded washing the blood off when there was a knock on the door she quickly flung her hands dry and open the door

Henry smiled at Betty as the door opened. ”Hey. Am I early?” he asked just a little embarrassed.

"a little but you're fine" she said

Henry let out an exaggerated sigh of relief and smiled. ”Good. It's good to see you.” he said giving her a quick hug.

”Ashy!” Laura-Beth ran over to see her friend.

Lysander walked in after her. ”Sorry. She heard Henry was here and just took off.” he smiled apologetically.

" Laura Beth go sit down" she said " have you seen Evan I want to see him" she said

Laura-Beth crossed her arms, pouting but headed over to the couch and sat down.

Henry shook his head. ”Not yet but I think he’ll be here soon.”
