Finns in the guest bedroom again doing homework. He was less tense about Jay being home since nothing bad has happened yet.
And then a few minutes later his father was in the room, and Jay was cowering away again, protesting and knowing that there was nothing he could do to stop this.
Finn sat there doing homework. He had no clue what was going on but there was still the thought in the back of his mind of what could happen to Jay.
And then he was on the floor, curling into a ball and trying to protect his head and ribs, not bothering to try and fight back because that would only make this worse.
Finn kept working. He hoped that if anything happened at all Jay would call willow and they’d figure something out.
Once his dad was gone, Jay waited a few minutes before forcing himself off the floor, shaky and bruised. He dialed Willow's number with shaking hands, trying not to cry.
She answered. "Hello?" She asked. She didn't have Jay's number but Finn told her that he gave Jay her number.
"It's…uhm…it's Jay." Jay said quietly, sitting on his bed and letting out a soft gasp of pain.
"Are you ok? I can call Finn we sort of made a plan," She said sounding sort of calm.
He took a deep breath. "M-my dad…I…" he felt a little awkward calling Willow like this and he wished he could call Finn.
“Ok I’m calling Finn now we’ll be right over. Just get ready to leave,” she said keeping her voice low.
Jay let out a shaky breath. "Okay. Thank you." he whispered.
"Yeah hold tight," She said hanging up. She texted a few minutes later. "Finn's coming to pick you up. Can you walk ok?" She asked
(gtg now)
"yeah". He texted back, packing up his stuff into his backpack, soft breaths leaving his mouth in half sobs.
(Ok)
Finn hung up on willow and quickly drove to Jays house trying not to get emotional. He parked in front of his house. Gripping the wheel so he wasn’t tempted to just run in.
Jay was out of the house in a minute, and climbed into the car. He was crying softly.
Finn quickly took his hand. “What happened?” He asked turning to face him.
Jay wrapped his arms around Finn. "He…same thing as n-normal, I just…"
Finn nodded and held him close. “I-it’s ok now. This isn’t happening again,” he said holding him for a long moment.
Jay was shaking, crying a little bit as he buried his face in Finn's shoulder. "Sorry…" He whispered.
Finn shook his head. “None of this is your fault. Now come on buckle up,” he said voice slightly shaky.
Jay nodded, letting go and buckling up. His face was bruised and he was shaking.
Finn took a deep breath and drove off. “Jay. Can we run away?”
Jay looked over at him, confused. "But…but we need to finish school." he replied faintly.
“We could do online school or we can just wait until we are 18 and three enroll ourselves,” he said running out of ideas.
"No, that…that wouldn't work." Jay replied softly. "I…"
“Why? We need to do something. I’m not-You can’t go back to that house,” he said parking on the side of the road because he really had no clue where they could go.
Jay bit his lip, and shrugged, curling down into his seat. "But if you leave your aunt you might never see Poppy again…"
Finn shook his head. “We-we can bring her with. Maybe even willow since she turns 18 in two days. The deal with her apartment fell through. We can just all run off,” he tried looking at him.
"We can't, Finn." Jay replied, looking over at Finn. "We can't bring Poppy because your aunt is her legal guardian and it would be kidnapping and you could go to prison. I could go to prison for aiding and abetting or something."
