Karly took his hand, smiling brightly. "That's awesome!" She asked, seeming to perk up from her quiet fizzle. She was back in her chipper mood, as quick as she was out of it. "I'm part anthro shifter too. It's a really long story, but yeah." She smiled, fixing her rich brown pony tail.
"Wow I umm…never met another one besides my sister" And with that he showed her his canine like form "We're all glad shedding season is over." he chuckled
"Oh believe me, I know." She laughed brightly, her face still a rosy pink. Joanna watched the two's interaction with a bright smile of her own.
"Well I'm so happy to meet an old friend of Jo over here….if you don't mind me asking…what's your other form? don't have to show me if you don't want of course." he assured her
Karly’s smile only grew. “I’m a cat hybrid. My fur is a dark indigo color. Most people think it’s just black.”
"That's what my sis is except her fur's more a midnight." he explained as her smile only caused him to wag his tail. He looked over to Jo "I didn't know you had friends like me." he chuckled
“I didn’t either until I came to see her after meeting you.” She laughed, turning from reading the ice cream menu. “If you didn’t believe I was blind, just look around the shop. This place was made for people like you, and I totally didn’t even acknowledge that.”
"You're sure right…it's great to see a place that we're welcomed" Tempest responded, then looked over the menu himself "This place is sure neat."
“We have anything you can make with ice cream! What can I get you two?” Karly asked, her smile bright as ever. “It’s up to you babe, it’s your celebratory ice cream.”
"Um well…do you have cookie dough ice cream…in a waffle cone?" he politely asked Karly
"Yup! We do!" She hummed, scooping up the ice cream for Tempest. Handing it over, she started scooping up strawberry swirl for Joanna with a relaxed smile.
Tempest grinned happily and turned his head to Jo "Thank you for taking me here beautiful." Then he looked to the hybrid behind the counter "and thank you for the ice cream"
Joanna smiled back to him, and pecked his cheek in response. Karly was more verbal with her gratitude for his. "Of course! I'm always happy to help out someone like me! I hope you enjoy it!" She told him, handing over Joanna's.
"I will Karly!" Tempest chirped as he took a giant lick of his ice cream "mmm I love cookie dough"
"Mind sharing?" Jo asked softly, licking her own. "It looks tempting."
He held his out to her "Can I steal a lick of yours too?"
"Sure thing." She smiled, licking part of his cone. Holding out her cone, she let him lick.
He licked a bit of hers too and grinned a bit "Strawberry is the second best."
“Second? You’re joking.” She said, with a slight role of her eyes.
He just stuck out his tongue and chuckled "Cookie dough is so good!"
"It is, but clearly not better than strawberry swirl." She hummed with a smirk.
He smiled and said "Alright we'll agree to disagree." he chuckled
"Fine, deal." Joanna agreed, going back to happily eating her ice cream. "Wanna walk back to the studio with ice cream?"
He nodded and thanked Karly once more before opening up the door for Jo
"She's sweet, isn't she?" Joanna asked, walking through the doorway with a smile. "Thank you."
"Yeah, I'm gad you have a friend like her." he responded as they started on their way back
"Though, she tends to… go for what she wants. Not normally thinking about who it could possibly affect. So she had her downside." Joanna shrugged slightly, watching the pavement as they walked.
"What do you mean?…She doesn't seem like that." he said to her as they walked, slipping his hand into hers
"She masks it. Behind her huge smile and bright eyes." She sighed, barely lifting her gaze. "She was partially to blame for my last breakup, things just got set up that way. Yet, I wouldn't have met you, if I hadn't broken up." Joanna shrugged, resting her head on his shoulder.
"well I'll keep my guard up babe." he told her as they neared the studio
