"Mhm," Jude said a little weakly, wondering if he should further prompt him about what they had him do, and if he would be able to stand it. He shook his head softly, trading his thoughtful look for a lighter one. "First thoughts on the pancakes?"
Nyx gave a happy little smile, not seeming to get too caught up in his thoughts or past. "They're good!" He exclaimed happily, kicking his feet a little as he ate some more.
"Hm, I'm glad." Jude smiled, assuming that he was probably overthinking whatever it was he thought Nyx was referring to. "Try some fruit, too," He suggested, nodding at the bowl next to him, knowing that he'd be hyper for the zoo.
Nyx reached out and tried a piece, his whole face lighting up. "What was that?" He asked, eyes round in his face. Adorably innocent, or at least he seemed like it.
"Um, strawberry?" Jude said through a laugh, smiling at Nyx's surprise. "There are some raspberries and blueberries, too."
Nyx wrinkled his nose a little. "Don't laugh at me. It's not my fault that I don't know what anything is." He said, then promptly grabbed more fruits and closed his eyes as he chewed.
"I know," Jude said with a smile and nod, "And I'm laughing because you're cute, I can't help it." He shrugged, focusing on his pancakes like it might stop him from smiling so much.
He wrinkled his nose again. "Humph. Fine." he replied, eating some more of the fruit, then the pancakes.
"Fine," Jude quietly repeated, shaking his head and taking a sip of juice. "You excited about the zoo?" He asked.
Nyx looked up with another happy, barely contained little smile. "Oh! Yes!" he crowed happily. "I want to see everything!"
Jude had to bite his lip from curling into another smile. It's this early, and my jaw already hurts. "And you will. It's only like a half an hour drive to the Bronx, and we'll grab lunch at this little bodega in Little Italy."
Nyx looked at Jude again, smiling happily. "Are we going to spend the whole day there?" he asked, eyes sparkling at the idea.
"Most of the day, yeah." Jude nodded, thoughtfully chewing his breakfast. "I think we'll leave at one, for lunch, and go back for a little bit before coming back."
Nyx grinned again, practically squirming in his seat, excited at the prospect. "Yes! Thank you!" he said, eating a little bit more food.
"You're welcome!" Jude replied at the same volume, softly laughing to himself. "Don't tire yourself out. We've got a long day ahead," He smiled, "And It's gonna be pretty busy at this time of year, so…lots of people."
Nyx sighed softly. "Fine." He grumbled, trying to calm down. But it was difficult, when everything was so new and exciting and there was so much to learn still.
Jude smiled as he ate the last of his pancakes, leaning back in his chair with an amused expression. "You know New York has five zoos?" He said with a nod, "Five, including an aquarium."
He looked up at Jude, wide-eyed. "It does?" He asked excitedly. "Can we go to all of them??"
"Maybe," Jude shrugged, drumming his fingers on the table, "But I don't think there are enough hours in the day. And there are so many other places for me to show you, you know." He smiled, raising an eyebrow. He's in the greatest city in the world, and he just wants to go to zoos. It's too cute. It's just– I can't.
Nyx let out a disappointed sigh. "Well…we can go to one of the others some other time?" He asked hopefully, eating a little bit more food and looking expectantly at Jude.
(This is why I love RPing as Nyx. Bc he's just so cute and innocent and happy and most of my characters are…not, and ugh he's adorable)
"If you like the zoo that much, then yes," Jude said with one slow nod, "There's actually one in Central Park, but the Bronx Zoo is better, which is the one we're goin' to. And Nyx–" He smiled, "It's a big city, there are other equally exciting things."

Nyx wrinkled his nose a little bit. "I know that, but…" He trailed off, feeling a little unsure of himself now. "But…I don't know."
(Maybe more like 95% because the scientists… definitely made him do some bad things lol)
"Hey, It's good that you're excited." Jude nodded, popping a blueberry into his mouth, "We'll go to loads of places– and we'll go to the other zoos, just not all in one week."
( * suspenseful music * )
He chuckled softly, running his hands through his hair. "Alright. Alright." He replied with a smile.
( * evil smile * )
"Mhm," Jude hummed contently, "So go on and finish your breakfast, since you're so hyped up about seeing these animals." He nodded, drinking the last of his juice.
Nyx finished up his breakfast, then looked at Jude with expectant blue eyes. "Done!" He exclaimed, practically vibrating in his seat with excitement.
"O-kay," Jude smiled, slowly standing up and nodding down the hall, "D'you wanna go and get ready? I'm gonna clean up the kitchen."

Nyx grinned, and went to Jude's room. He realized that he didn't really have any clothes, so he stole some of Jude's.
