Betty smiled at Evan gently

Evan looked at Betty. ”So… will you marry me? Be King and Queen with me?” he asked eagerly, as he got to a knee in front of her.

Lysander was staring in complete shock. He did recognize that the man was both a guest and the King of Vampires but… He had some gall to ask another man’s wife to marry him.

" Oh gosh Evan I…I don't know what to say" she said

”You could always say yes.” Evan teased a little. ”I know this is sudden and I'm sorry I didn't bring a ring but I didn't know it would be you.” he apologized.

Lysander's eyes flashed darkly at Evan’s comments though his gaze returned to normal as he looked at Betty, hoping that she would say no.

" if I agree I have some conditions the other people in this room come before any queen duties I may have Lysander is still my husband and I will have time for him" she said

”Betty, any duties that you have as a Queen Alpha wouldn't change from what they might be now.” Evan assured her. ”They would just include both species. But yes, I can agree to those conditions… If you don't think it would be too awkward for you to have two husbands.” he added a little nervously.

Lysander was trembling, unsure how he felt. He was furious at the strangely familiar man because Lysander didn't want Betty to marry anyone else. It took all his willpower to keep his hands from bursting into flame. At the same time, he was hurt that Betty hadn't turned down the offer. He was fine with the truce but… marriage? To the King Vampire?

" can I think about it" she asked

”Of course.” Evan agreed, standing up. ”Take as much time as you need.” he smiled.

Betty nodded and looked over at Lysander

Lysander was a mess at the moment. He couldn't really hate Evan because he understood the political side of this arrangement but the fact that he also liked Betty made his stomach churn in jealousy. ”Excuse me.” he muttered before walking out towards the lake.

¨ I´ll be right back¨ Betty said and walked outside over to Lysander and she grabbed his wrist to stop him

Lysander quickly pulled away from the touch, his skin almost burning. ”Don’t do that. It's not… I’m not safe right now.” he warned her gently.

"Ly please… talk to me" she begged

”I’m sorry, Betty.” he sighed. ”I just don't want to hurt you. I’m sorry.”

" Then why are we doing this I'm scared to hurt you your scared to hurt me" she said

”This isn't your fault.” he assured her. ”I’m just having a hard time controlling this ability at the moment. I still love you, and always will.”

" well never touch each other how are we supposed to do this how are we supposed to be together" she said

”What do you mean?” he asked. ”We were just holding each other last night before you decided to sleep on the couch.”

She ran a hand through her hair " What are we how do you feel?"

He almost reached out to her but held back to try to calm down a little more first. ”We’re Eternals. We’ve been married for almost a year now. And we have a beautiful daughter.” he reminded her. ”My feelings for you haven't changed.”

She wiped her eyes of the tears that fell

He sighed and took a step closer to her, his skin was still warm but no longer painful to touch. ”Please don't cry, love.” he said gently, reaching out to her.

" I-I'm changing your changing were both changing" she said and looked in his eyes " and I'm afraid that we'll both change so much that we'll lose our love or maybe you'll forget why or how you fell in love with me' she said

”I know we're changing a little. I mean, you're the new Alpha of all werewolves. And I'm one of the few vampires who can control fire.” he agreed. ”But I will never forget how much I love you.”

" and I'm about to become the queen of vampires" she said

He sighed and dropped his hand back to his side. ”So… You’re going to accept his offer?” he asked softly.

" I have to" she said

”Why?” he asked. ”I want this truce as well so I can understand that aspect of this but…” he sighed. ”I… I don't want to lose you.”

" Hey…" She said cupping his chin " I'm your girl. . .say it" she said

He chuckled softly, placing his hand on her upper arm. ”You’re my girl.”
