Danny gave Alex a sympathetic smile. “Hard to write, I take it? Sorry, man.”

Danny gave Alex a sympathetic smile. “Hard to write, I take it? Sorry, man.”
(it's fine!)
"Yeah." he sighed, resting his forearm against his forehead. "Because Ari keeps wanting to kill Kasiya, even though I'm like "no, you're supposed to want to kiss him now, not kill him". And Ari still wants to kill him."
Danny laughed at the description. “Man, don’t you just hate that? Big pet peeve of mine, when the fictional characters get a mind of their own.”
(Okay but Alex is literally describing what always happens to me)
Alex groaned. "Yes." he replied, covering his face with a hand. "Also, Kasiya was supposed to be gay, but no, now he's pan instead, and he's insisting on chasing after everything with legs."
(lmaooo, same)
Danny blinked, but a small chuckle escaped from his lips. “I guess that’s a conflict for the main romance, yeah? Or am I wrong?”
"Yes." He replied, shaking his head. "Since half of the couple wants to kill the other half, who's being an ass and isn't listening to meeee."
“Not listening to you? Alex, buddy, they’re not real. You’re the author, can’t you just like.. deus ex machina the thing?” Danny cocked his head, sure that there was a very simple solution to the problem.
He shook his head again. "Nope. They're characters, yes, but…they're also people, which means they have their own personalities. I'm more like a scribe than an author. I just write down what I see in my head."
“Uh-huh, alright. You sound a little nuts now, not gonna lie.” Danny nodded along, though, pretending he understood what Alex was saying.
He snorted with laughter. "I know, I know." he replied, stretching and laying flat on the grass. "But it's the truth."
“I never said it wasn’t, I only said you sound crazy.” Danny teased, fishing in his pocket for something. He pulled out a couple bobby pins, pinning his hair out of his face. “Ah, that’s better.. I don’t like to use these, but sometimes it gets unmanageable.” He patted the hairpins, looking back out at the park.
Alex looked over, a smile tugging at his mouth. "I have never claimed to be otherwise." he replied with a shrug. He smiled at the sight of the hairpins in Danny's hair.
“Well, true.” Danny nodded in acknowledgment, rolling his head on his shoulders. “And it’s a good thing too, because you’ve given me the evidence I need to debunk that claim.” He joked, miming out writing a story.
He laughed a little, then went quiet for a moment, thinking about something. "Danny!" he said suddenly, sitting up. "I know what you should do if you do one of those band battle thingies!" he looked at the Werewolf. "Have you ever listened to any of the "Punk Goes Pop" albums??"
Danny fell back in surprise, definitely not expecting Alex to pop up like that. He sat back up, rubbing his head. “Uhhhh- no, ha? Should I?”
Alex grinned at him. "It's punk artists covering really well known pop songs. It's really fun to listen to." He replied, looking at Danny.
“Yea? I’ll have to check it out, never heard of it before.” Danny nodded, knowing fully well that he’d forget before he ever listened to the albums.
"I can find them now, if you want." he replied with a shrug, laying back down in the grass to look at the clouds.
“Nah man, you’re fine. I’ll just check it on my own, don’t worry about it.” Danny shook his head, leaning back somewhat. He combed his fingers through the blades of grass, picking a few pieces and rolling them in his hands.
"Alright." he replied, stretching and sighing softly. "Sounds like a plan, I guess."
Danny thought for a moment. “Hey- you remember that night the curse took over or whatever and I had to bring you back to your place? Yeah, Fraser talked to you first, right? Was he like.. an ass? Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy and he’s so sweet, but he’s a little weird to new people.”
He frowned a little, thinking. "Uhm…" He trailed off, eyebrows drawing together. "I don't…really remember. My memories are…sort of fuzzy. They always are. But…as far as I can remember, he wasn't too bad."
Danny nodded. “Good, good. As long as he didn’t like.. punch you in the stomach or cuss you out.” He laughed slightly, rubbing the back of his head.
"Uhm…there was cussing, but no punches." He replied with a shrug. "Either way, it wouldn't have been anything new."
Danny laughed sheepishly, unsure how to respond to the second comment. “Aha.. yeah, sorry. Man’s got a vocab that’d make a sailor blush.”
He shrugged again. "Yeah. No big deal. Like I said, I don't…have the greatest memory of it anyways. I usually don't remember much of the curse."
“Yeah, right. Sorry about that.” Danny checked the time on his phone. As he thought more about what to say, he realized that he barely knew Alex at all, meaning their pick of conversation topics always felt slim.
"It's fine, no big deal." Alex replied. He looked over at Danny again, then up at the sky.
“Cool, cool.” Danny nodded. He glanced at the pack of kids, who were once again at each other’s throats. “Fuck, these rowdy ass- I’ll be right back, sorry.” He stood up, wasting no time in prying the warring children away from each other. He carried them back, one on each hip. “The little demons started a fight circle, Alex, where do they get these things?” Danny plopped back onto the grass, keeping the two kids with him.
Alex laughed as Danny came back, shaking his head a little bit. "I have no idea." He replied, shoulders lifting with laughter.
