Jay chewed on his lower lip a little bit, not sure what to do. He wanted to rush to Finn and comfort him, but he knew now what had happened. Finn's aunt had found out.
Finn looked up. "Please just let me take him home. You won't see hi-" He started but his aunt glared at him. She looked down at her phone.
"Oh and let you spend another $150 on a night in a hotel," She said raising an eyebrow. "Give me your card." She extended her hand out. Finn got out his wallet and handed her the card. She snapped it in two and then looked at Jay. "Come on show me your mark," she said.
Jay bit his lip again, and rubbed off the cream on his cheek. He looked down at the floor, not meeting the aunt's eyes. He knew that he would have to go home. Back to his father.
"I can drive him," He tried again. His aunt ignored him and kept her eyes on Jay.
"Do your parents even know about this? I'm driving you home and having a word with them," Seh said shaking her head slightly.
Jay flinched a little bit, shoulders curling inwards. "They…they know." he said softly.
"And they're okay with it? God people these days. get whatever you have here and follow me. I don't want you to have any excuse to come back here," She said before turning to Finn. " Put that cream on your hand and change your pants. Finish dinner and I'll be back soon." Finn looked terrified but nodded. He glanced at Jay before slipping into his bedroom. She went on her phone.
Jay didn't look up, heading over and grabbing his backpack, checking that everything was still inside. He didn't say a word, or look at anyone.
Finn's aunt nodded and left the house. "I ordered a uber. It'll be in the front in a few minutes," She said before looking straight at Jay. "I don't want to see you anywhere near my nephew or my house again. Understood?"
Jay nodded a little bit, then shrugged his shoulders. He didn't understand why.
His aunt walked inside the main house. Finn came out of the house as soon as she was gone and glanced at Jay. "I'm sorry," He whispered.
He shook his head a little bit. "It's not your fault." he wanted to cry. But he wouldn't. He couldn't. He wasn't going to.
"I have to go but I'm probably not going to be in school," He said walking over glancing at the door.
He nodded again. "Okay." His voice was quiet. He was trying so hard not to cry. So damn hard.
Finn bit his lip. “I love you. I promise I’ll try to figure something out,” he said. His eyes where watering slightly so he turned around and walking into the main house.
"I love you too." he whispered as he watched Finn leave. He scrubbed at his eyes with the heels of his hands.
The Uber arrived a few minutes later. (Let’s pretend she asked his address kind of forgot that that’s how that works) Finn sat down at the dinner table with a fake smile.
(ha alright)
Jay got into the uber, buckling and curling his arms around his backpack.
The driver drove Jay home silently. Finn tried to join in on conversations at dinner and tried to not think about Jay going home to his dad.
Jay knew what would happen when he got home. He knew, knew that his father would beat him until he couldn't move.
When everyone left the party Finn didn’t go back to the guest house. His aunt took away his phone and she locked him in a guest bedroom of the main house. (Time skip? I’m guessing Jay isn’t going to school)
(yes, and no he isn't. When should we skip to?)
(two days at school?)
(kk. Want me to do it, or should I?)
(You can)
(alright)
Jay showed up to school finally, after missing a day. He was limping and bruised all over, a hoodie covering up the bruising as best as he could. He went to his locker, then to class, sitting down.
Finn saw him in class and lit up slightly. He had a bruise on his chin that he hadn't even tried to cover up that morning. No one even asked. He moved to the empty seat next to him.
Jay looked up, biting his lip. "Hi." he greeted softly, arms curled around himself protectively.
Finn noticed the bruises and the slight smile that was about to form dropped. “I’m really sorry Jay,” he whispered reaching out to gently place a hand on his arm.
Jay flinched very slightly at the touch, then closed his eyes. He let out a slow breath. "It's okay. It's not your fault." He whispered back.
