Nightfall rose into the air with ease, considering this was her first time carrying another creature with her. She flew up above the forest, where there was just sky and the tops of trees as far as the eye could see in one direction, and a lake in the other. The sun was starting to set, painting the clouds different shades of pink, orange, and yellow. "What do you think Steven?"

Steven looked distracted, and seemed to be spacing out, only to be shook back to reality once Nightfall spoke. “Huh? Oh, yeah, it’s great.” He said simply, not even looking at the view.

She sighed. "Not in the mood huh? Alright." She brought Steven back down to the ground, and smiled at Amethyst and Spinel.

“Sorry…” He apologized, still a little lost in his world. Steven was continuing to stare into the distance, (unfortunately) missing everything else that was going on during so.

"It's fine." She replied, though she didn't think he heard her. She went and curled up on the ground next to Amethyst and Spinel.

Spinel bent her head back to look at Nightfall and smile, trying to wave at her despite the fact that it was slightly disoriented from being upside-down.

(Hi, I’m going through something at the moment, I would like to warn you. I won’t be on for some time, probably a day or two. After not being able the breathe and almost dying then having the worst realization that’s making me very unstable I won’t try to write. I’ll probably fuck up. Spinel giggled softly and pat her nose, using her other hand to cling to Amethyst’s shirt so she wouldn’t fall out of her arms.

Amethyst stood up, setting spinel down gently.

Making a questioning squeak, Spinel looked up at her, not understanding why she was leaving all of a sudden.

The small Gem (clumsily) stood up as well, grabbing onto Amethyst’s arm with a stretched hand, giving a worried smile up at her.

Nightfall sat up as the two Gems interacted. She glanced at Steven, before stretching and flexing her claws, much like a cat.

(I cannot stop rereading this scene, and every single time, I think that Spinel is acting like a cat and purring and it’s driving me insane)
