During Steven’s outburst, Spinel had tucked herself under Amethyst’s arm, desperately clinging to it as if it was her only chance of survival.
Steven, on the other hand just looked creepily stiff, like every muscle in his body was tensed. But he suddenly seemed to relax and emotion returned to his eyes. Once again, as if nothing happened at all.

Amethyst pet Spinel's head, noticing her unease. "Its okay spinel." She says.

She sighed quietly and closed her eyes, calming down immensely. Her trembling seemed to stop, but she didn’t let go, and buried her face into Amethyst’s arm as if it would make her disappear.

Amethyst smiled a bit at her cute behavior. "Guys, let's calm down a little bit, please. You are scaring spinel."

Steven blinked a couple times before seeming to come back into thought. “Wh-?” He started before being interrupted by a protective Amethyst. “Yes, lets calm down. Who scared Spinel?” He asked in a scolding tone, somehow unaware it was his doing.
Steven attempted to give her a comforting smile and a pat on the head, but she pulled away, gripping Amethyst a little tighter.

"It's okay Spinel, steven is safe." Amethyst said, trying to calm her.

She shook her head and hid herself even more, quietly stating “I don’t like it when he goes pink…”

"He's not gonna go pink right now. Okay?"

“But he’s being scary!” She protested, looking up at her, starting to shake again.

“I don’t like it when he goes pink…” Spinel repeated quietly, once again hiding her face, continuing to mumble things about disliking his alter ego.

Nightfall gave Spinel a sympathetic glance. She put her wing around her and Amethyst in a sort of group hug. "It'll be okay Spinel." I hope…

Steven frowned, looking to the side with shame.

Nightfall looked back at Steven. "Maybe we should take that flight I mentioned." She suggested. "It might help you feel better."

He just shrugged and held his arm, feeling bad that he spooked the small Gem.

"Come on." The dragon spread her wings. "Just for a few minutes."

“If you insist…” He sighed.

She positioned herself for Steven to climb onto her back. "Trust me, you're gonna love it."

“I don’t like it when he goes pink…” Spinel repeated quietly, once again hiding her face, continuing to mumble things about disliking this alter ego.

Poppy glanced over, locking onto the commotion. She walked over calmly, not wanting to stick her nose into this, she back up more. She mumbled sorry as she walked back to the tree. She looked sad again, it was only normal. Taily wouldn’t even look at her any more.
