Amethyst looked back to steven. "You do???"
Amethyst looked back to steven. "You do???"
“She got factory reset by the rejuvenator! She lost all her memories, and she’s basically like she’s newly emerged from the Kindergarten!”
“And how exactly is this a bad thing? Last time I checked, pinky over here almost destroyed the world.” Acantha said as she crossed her arms. “Also, it took you this long to figure out what happened to Spinel?”
“Yes, it is!” Steven huffed, quite disappointed that anyone would have that mindset. “At least she has someone that loves her!” He retorted protectively, and uncharacteristically, a slight flicker of pink crossing his face. “And it’s not like anyone knows what that thing is, except you, apparently. Now, stop your sass and try to be helpful for once.”
Acantha put a hand to her heart and a look of hurt appeared for a moment before it disappeared and a unreadable face appeared. She frowned, but she stayed where she was, not moving nor breathing. Or, well, that’s what it seemed.
He glared at her for a moment with emotionless eyes that eerily glimmered with a deep magenta, before crossing his arms and looking back to Amethyst as if nothing had happened.
(Insert unfitting classical music)

"Is there a way we can fix it?" Amethyst asks.
“Well, like we talked about before, we could substitute memories until the real things come back.” He offered, but knew that would mean that they would have to leave her somewhere, which he knew none of them were strong enough to do.
He glared at her for a moment with emotionless eyes that eerily glimmered with a deep magenta, before crossing his arms and looking back to Amethyst as if nothing had happened.
It was odd to say that out of everyone here, Spinel seemed to be the first one to notice that something was off about Steven, especially with her very short attention span. The Gem absentmindedly coiled her arm around Amethyst’s a little tighter.
"…Steven…are you okay…?" Nightfall asked, concerned. She had stopped watching the bird and had tilted her head at Steven.
“Yeah, I’m fine, why do you ask??” He replied, not looking as ‘fine’ as he insisted.
"You…uh…don't really look fine." She answered, glancing at Acantha. "And who's she?"
(Remember, she didn't know who Acantha was.)
“I don’t know, she only pops up once and a while to bicker.” He answered, shrugging, Nightfall’s comment seeming to phase right through him.
Nightfall's concern grew, but she visibly made herself look as if she believed Steven was perfectly okay. She glanced at Amethyst, hoping she would know how to make Steven feel better.
“I only pop up once in a while? Why, I’ve been here ever since that anti guy has been here! Actually, no. I’ve been here since Alastor showed up. The thing is that I’ve been so quiet and I’ve been daydreaming for the past couple of hours, that you and your friends have completely forgotten that I was here.”
“Oh, I forgot you existed, because of how useless you’ve been all this time! Now daydream again! Close your eyes, and imagine yourself as being a more likable person, then open them and weep!” Steven hissed, his face starting to turn pink across his nose.
This had made Spinel even more worried, and was now properly squeezing the purple Gem’s arm.
Nightfall's eyes widened at Steven's tone. She tentatively put her wing around him. "Are you sure you're alright?"
His face went back to its usual color as he said “I told you; I’m fine.” He said with a reassuring smile.
She didn't hide the look on her face this time. She was worried, and wasn't sure he was as 'fine' as he said. She had never heard him talk to someone that way.
Acantha legitimately looked hurt. She frowned, got up from where she was sitting, took out an object that she had found while wandering around when Spinel turned into a nicer version of her previous self. She threw it to Steven, turned around and marched away without saying a word.
Nightfall watched Acantha leave, and wondered if she would be okay. She looked at the thing that Acantha had tossed to Steven. "What is that?"
Steven didn’t seem to care, which was hugely concerning. Ever sense his battle with Alastor, he’s been…off… Now there were two problems that they had to solve. He just stared at the object emotionlessly, completely still.
“S-Steven, I think you should-should take a break…” Spinel suggested meekly, looking quite spooked.
The object seemed to be a part of Spinel’s Rejuvenator, which somehow managed to fall off, or was ripped away from the Rejuvenator when Alastor was in possession of it.
(…what piece??)
(I was thinking the gem piece of it, but the handle/the bottom works too.)
(I’m not sure how that would work but okay)
