Joanna rolled her eyes, but when she heard Luna's question she froze up. "W-well I think it's just something that we've caught, it's on and off." Joanna laughed nervously.
Joanna rolled her eyes, but when she heard Luna's question she froze up. "W-well I think it's just something that we've caught, it's on and off." Joanna laughed nervously.
"I don't know," Luna said, looking amused, not suspicious. "You seem very strange. Then again, I'm not one to talk." She glanced at Jake, who shrugged.
"Ahah, I've also been rather tired lately. So that may be part of it." She said, still rather stiff and nervous. "What about you?" She asked Arsen, picking up her spoon to get out of the conversation.
"Eh." He shrugged. "I always act this fabulous."
Joanna choked, trying not to laugh. She glared at him, and swallowed her spoon full before picking up a napkin and coughing into it. "H-Honey…" She whined, wiping her mouth off.
"Yes?" He said sweetly. "Is there a problem?"
“You’re going to make me choke.” She laughed lightly, setting her napkin aside.
"I know," he said, smirking. He ran a hand through his hair and looked at his watch, before glancing up at Luna and Jake. They were whispering to each other.
Finishing off her soup, Joanna looked at the two whispering. 'That's odd…' She thought, looking at Arsen confused. "Did I miss something?" She asked in a whisper.
He shrugged. "I don't know."
"Oh, look at the time!" Luna exclaimed. "We should really get going!"
"O-Oh, really?" She asked, turning from facing her partner. A shaken, and surprised look was on her face. "Well, if you to must be going, I'm so glad we got to see you."
"I agree. It was nice seeing the two of you," Luna said, looking like she was about to burst apart.
Arsen frowned, but didn't say anything. He stood, offering a hand to Joanna. "A-alright. See you later, I guess?"
Watching the two disappear, Joanna took his hand to stand. "Well that was a disaster." She whispered, not looking at Arsen, just watching the married couple leave.
"Oh, yes it was." He watched as the two of them left, whispering to each other. Luna looked about to cry, and Jake looked distressed. "I wonder what's wrong."
"I really don't know, but I think it may have been something we said." Joanna mentioned, mindlessly lacing their fingers together. "Yet again, what could have been so bad, that would have made Luna so upset? And Jake, for that matter."
"I don't know," he murmured, staring after them, almost not aware of the sansation of her hand, it seemed such a normal gesture. "I really don't know." He glanced down at her. "Should we head back to the hotel?"
She had gotten lost in thought, biting the inside of her cheek. Hearing his voice once more, she snapped from her thoughts, and looked him up and down. "Sorry? Back to the hotel? That sounds good."
"Alright, then" He pulled his hand away and left the building.
She looked down to her hand, and frowned slightly. So she held her own hand. "I- I need to grab my bag, you go ahead." She mumbled, turning back to the table.
"Oh, alright," Arsen said, blinking in confusion, before moving to the car, and starting it.
Joanna picked up her handbag, taking in a deep breath. She pulled a ten from the clutch, and set it on the table. “Not much, but all I got.” She mumbled turning to go catch up with Arsen.
He drove them to the hotel in silence, wondering why the Powells had acted so strange. Was it something he had done?
Joanna felt her leg beginning to bounce, and she couldn't get rid of this nervous feeling. "Did you feel strange too? While we were there I mean." She mumbled, turning her head to him.
"I did," Arsen said. pursing his lips. "It was almost as if we had hurt them somehow." He parked the car and opened his door, looking over at Joanna. "I have the feeling that there is something bigger going on, bigger than what we had originally thought."
"I hate that. They give us a mission, and they hide half the details." She groaned, opening her own door to get out. "I swear, this has got to be the most difficult things out there." She huffed, slipping out the door.
"Oh, probably," he said, shaking his head. "I don't see why. I mean, are we supposed to be the best, or what? Because I doubt that."
"You're not helping Arsen." Joanna said firmly, getting tired of the whole situation. She was ready for a nice warm shower, and to go to sleep peacefully. Only one of those things were going to happen. "Once we're inside, I'm going to get ready for bed." She mumbled to him.
"I know I'm not helping," he said, sounding frustrated. "But we were just sitting with two people who acted like they fucking knew us, the real us, not these people we're playing. We have to break into a place, I'm getting random headaches all the time, and I'm just tired of all of it." He rubbed his face with his hands and headed inside, to the elevator.
Joanna stopped, rather surprised at his words. Forcing herself to move, she came up to and took his arm. Pulling him to a stop, she attempted to make him turn to face her. "First thing, you need to watch what you say out loud." She scolded him, trying to act as normal as she could. "Second, are you alright? What's going on with you?"
"I'm fine." He said this curtly, as if annoyed. He was pissed at himself for breaking character in public, and for actually telling Jo how he was feeling.
