Grayson nodded and let his eyes close, drifting off. His dreams turned to nightmares, the events of the past hours coursing through his mind. He felt trapped again, Seth's brothers reaching through the bars of the cage. Their fingers brushed his skin, grabbing him and pulling, tearing him apart. He caught a glimpse of Seth's body on the ground, bloody and broken.
Grayson gasped awake, trembling and trying to catch his breath. "Seth?" He choked out, drawing his knees up to his chest.
Seth hadn't dozed off, mostly just held Grayson close as he let his mind process everything that had happened. He soon realized that Grayson was having a nightmare, and instantly he became worried. When Grayson called for him he gently cupped his boyfriend's cheeks. "I'm right here baby." He whispered soothingly. "We're safe."
Grayson nodded a little before pressing his face against Seth's neck, trying to choke back a sob. He held Seth tight, still trembling as he attempted to block out the terrifying images in his head.
Seth held him tightly, kissing his forehead and rubbing a hand through his hair. "It's okay." he murmured, his hands gentle as he gazed down at Grayson. "You're safe now, they can't touch us anymore. They won't find us. We're safe. It's just you and me. I'll never let them put another hand on you, I'll never let them near us again, I swear on it." He whispered. All he ever wanted to do was keep Grayson safe. Grayson was his everything, he was the reason Seth woke up in the mornings. He was the reason that Seth didn't give into his anger. He loved Grayson with all his heart and he swore to himself that none of his brothers would ever touch Grayson again. He ran his hand through Grayson's hair, whispering sweet nothings and words of encouragement, rocking Grayson back and forth gently. He would do anything to protect his love, anything to protect Grayson.
(damn where's my seth)
Grayson shook his head, tucking his chin to his chest and squeezing his eyes shut. "No no no.." He sobbed, freeing himself from Seth's touch and pulling his knees up to press against his forehead. "They're still here..he's still here.." He choked out, raising a trembling arm to cover his head as if he was trying to protect himself from something. "You.." His breath began to come in heavy pants like someone was forcing it out of him. "You aren't here..it's just a dream.." Grayson whimpered. "I don't want to wake up..don't want to go back…pl-please.." He gasped for air.
Seth had no idea what to do, his eyes were wide with concern, his hands gently reaching out to Grayson. He must be having a panic attack… His eyes were gentle and he shook his head. "Grayson, baby…. No one is here except you and me. Hey, hey. It's okay. It's okay. You're safe." He muttered gently. "This isn't a dream, you're awake." He gently guides Grayson's hand to his chest, let him feel the slow pace of his heart. "We're alive, we're okay." He murmured softly. He didn't know how to help so he stayed as calm as possible.
(I feel like everyone needs a mini Seth.)
(fjskdjsyes)
Grayson shook with sobs, too far gone to comprehend Seth's words. "Hurts.." He whimpered, unable to control the tremor in his voice. "It hurts.." He squeezed his hands tight over his ears, still struggling for air. He continued to mutter quietly to himself until his body finally gave up and he lay passed out on his side next to Seth, still shaking slightly but breathing normally.
Seth was startled and worried, his eyes filled with concern as he watched Grayson struggle, having no idea how to help or what to do. When Grayson passed out, Seth gently rested a hand against his forehead and whispered a soft spell. Just a simple one that would keep him from nightmares. He gently picks Grayson up, kissing his forehead and carrying him back to bed. It hurt like hell, but he pushed himself through it. He tucks Grayson into bed before grabbing a few things to help if the situation called for it. He returned to Grayson's side and held his hand.
Grayson slept for another hour or two before blinking awake. He stayed still, expressionless as he glanced around, taking in his surroundings. After a minute, he sat up and rubbed at his face, not acknowledging Seth's presence as he moved to the edge of the bed, staring down at his feet.
Seth had stayed awake most of the time, only just dozing off when Grayson woke up. He was in his chair, his eyes shut, his breathing soft and slow. His hand rested beside Grayson's. He seemed at peace for the moment. In reality he really wasn't. His mind was everywhere, his dreams hellish. But nothing gave that away. His body twitched a little when Grayson moved to the edge of the bed.
Grayson stood up and padded quietly around the house. He made himself some tea after taking a quick shower and sat down at his desk, glancing over at Seth. He's not really there..you're just imagining it…
He couldn't remember much of the past few hours events, only he was fairly sure the images of Seth's broken and bloody corpse lying on the ground that were flashing through his mind were real. His brain felt numb as he began catching up on missing assignments. Why don't I feel sad..I should be mourning right now. He's dead. Seth is dead.
Seth groaned softly in his sleep as Grayson showered and had his tea. His body ached but he was okay. He was alive. He hummed softly in his sleep, twitched and then cried out before his eyes shot open. He pants softly and looks around, gazing at Grayson's empty bed before seeing him at his desk. "Grayson?" He croaks softly, walking to the others side. He gently set a warm hand on Grayson's shoulder, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Hey baby… What are you working on?" He asks quietly.
Grayson flinched away from his touch, squeezing his eyes shut and resting his forehead in his palm. "Stop it.." He whispered to himself. "Stop stop stop. Focus…"
Where is he now..can they still hurt him when he's dead? Please let him be okay…please..let him be safe now.. His vision blurred slightly and he wiped at his eyes.
(sorry for the shitty writing, im multitasking lol)
(It's alright!)
Seth pulled his hand away in fear. "Grayson, what's wrong?" He asks gently, kneeling beside the other. He didn't know how to help or what to do. His eyes were wide with fear. "Baby talk to me, please?" He begs softly. Why was Grayson acting like this? What was wrong? What was going on? He seemed so scared, distant, and alone and it was scaring Seth.
"You're not here." Grayson said through clenched teeth, holding back a sob. "I watched you die. You're dead so just leave me alone." He stood up as Seth knelt down next to him. "Get out of my head! You're not real!" He yelled, fresh tears streaming down his face.
Seth looked genuinely confused and scared before sighing and standing as he looks at the other, a desperate hand reaching out to touching his face. "Grayson I'm here, I'm right here." He whispers, "I didn't die, I never died." He whispers, his eyes soft as he gazed at the other. "Touch me Grayson, I'm real. I'm solid. I'm right here. Do you really think I would really abandon you, love?" He asks gently.
Grayson stared up at him in disbelief. "But I saw…I thought.." He trailed off, reaching up to touch Seth's chest where his heart was and feeling a steady beat. "Oh.." He paused for a couple seconds before taking a soft step towards Seth and gently wrapped his arms around his middle, staring down at the floor while a few stray tears rolled down his cheeks. "I..I'm sorry.." He whispered.
Seth gazed at the other and kissed his cheek, pulling him close. His eyes are soft as he keeps the other close. "Sh, shh… It's okay baby. I'm right here for you love." He whispers. He ran his hand through Grayson's hair his eyes soft. "Don't be sorry, I'm staying right here for you." He murmured.
"I..I can't tell what's real or not. I can't remember.." Grayson said quietly through the tears. "Everything is so fuzzy.." He added in a whisper. "I'm sorry though…I'm sorry because I know you..that you're probably in more pain than I'll ever be and..and I couldn't help you…I couldn't stop you from hurting.."
Seth listened to his words, listened to what he was saying. "First thing in the morning tomorrow, we're going to find help, okay?" He shook his head and presses a soft kiss to his forehead. "We're both in pain, baby. You're in pain, and your pain is just as valid as mine. We're gonna get through this together. I promise." He murmured softly. "You mean the world to me."
Grayson let his eyes shut, relaxing slightly into Seth's arms. "I love you.." He murmured, letting himself calm down for a few more minutes before glancing up at Seth. "What happens..when you die?" He asked quietly. "Where do you go?"
"I love you too baby…" he murmured softly
He shut his eyes for a moment. Seth paused at the question and sighs softly. "I suppose for a demon it's a restart, really. No one really knows. It's thought that a demon gets another chance at life, or that they just die completely." He sighed softly and ran his hand through Grayson's hair.
"You would be okay though, right? They wouldn't be able to hurt you?" Grayson pulled away and took Seth's hand, leading him over to the bed where he sat down, gently pulling his fingers through Seth's hair.
He shook his head. "Nah. I'm to stubborn to die." He laughs quietly as he cuddles the other. Seth follows after her and hummed as he looks around. He settles down as well and leans into his hands, somewhat dozing.
“Get some sleep, Seth.” Grayson said softly, moving back to the top of the bead and holding his arms out to him. “C’mon.” He smiled gently.
Seth wasn't going to argue with the idea of sleep. Seth eagerly crawled into the others lap and cuddles him happily. He gave a happy sigh.
Grayson gave a soft laugh and continued to pet his hair affectionately. "This reminds me of when we first met and you shoved your face in my stomach to get me to keep playing with your hair." He said, shifting himself downward so that they were both laying with Seth draped across his chest.
Seth purred softly. "I love it when you play with my hair." He mumbles as he slowly nuzzles closer. "And you can't blame me for wanting to snuggle you. You're perfect for cuddling." He coos happily as he slowly dozes off.
"You're perfect for everything, darling." Grayson replied in a whisper. "I'll see you in the morning." He added before spending the remainder of the night lying awake, lost in thought.
