"But guess what?" he asked with a sly smile.
"But guess what?" he asked with a sly smile.
Lucas sighed, shaking his head a bit with a lingering smile. "What is it, love?"
"I still can very much mess you up in more ways then one." He whispered with a smirk.
Lucas flushed red, actually a little surprised by the answer this time. "L-Love…"
"Yes?" he looked away all innocent. "I didn't say anything…"
Lucas sighed, kissing Nick softly. "We're here…" He murmured as he led him inside.
"I'll wait outside the locker room then." Nick smiled softly and found a bench to sit on.
"Alright." Lucas changed into his gym clothes and came back out, taking Nick's hand to lead him over to the bench in the gym.
"Do your best okay?" he smiled softly before letting go of his hand.
"I will, love." Lucas headed over to the group anxiously, looking up at the rope he was going to be expected to climb.
"Rope climbing is easy. Maybe not for some of us, but don't let that get your hopes up. Let's go!" the gym teacher said so everyone could start.
(I'm gonna say there's separate ropes for each person lol)
Lucas sighed and hesitated for several seconds before he grabbed onto the rope and hoisted himself up. He began climbing, trying not to think about how much it was hurting his hands and muscles to do so.
(kk)
Nick couldn't see, but he was waiting for a certain pattern that one of the bells would ring. So he waited.
Lucas could hear other people ringing their bells and heading back down. He was pretty high up, and finally, he reached up one arm and hit his bell, panting from exhaustion.
"Yes!" he yelled when he heard the pattern. "You did it!" Nick wore a wide smile.
Lucas started heading back down, but since his hands were sweaty, he slipped a bit. He quickly began sliding down the rope, falling hard on the ground when his hands were burned.
He heard catering and the mention of Lucas’s hands burnt. Nick had felt useless. He wanted to go over and help, but how could he when everything was black and he can barely walk alone.
Lucas was sore, his hands were bleeding, and he was dazed, but he seemed otherwise okay. "Nick, I'm going to the nurse…" He muttered as the coach steered him outside. "Be back soon…"
“O-Okay…” he pointed his head down and moved his hands around. “I pushed him didn’t I?”
The coach sat Lucas down in the nurse's office and left him with the woman he'd grown quite well acquainted with. "Morning, miss… sorry I'm back again." He apologized quietly, showing her his bleeding palms. He still seemed to be a bit out of it.
“Getting into trouble?” She asked as she started to whipped the blood off his hands.
"No, I fell off the rope in gym." Lucas didn't even flinch when she touched the wounds. "My head kinda hurts. Is that bad?"
“Yup, let me see,” she moved her hand in a way to tell him to turn around.
Lucas turned, swaying a little once he was still again. He didn't seem to have any external injuries.
She checked the back of his head. “I don’t see anything. Turn around so I can make sure you’re not concussed.”
He turned back around. When she shined the light in his eyes, he winced and tried to follow as he was told, but he couldn't quite do it.
“Yup, you’re concussed. Lay down while I call the hospital okay? Jeez, it’s in and out of hospitals with you two…” she shook her head and helped him lay down before going to call the hospital.
"Mm…" Lucas lay on his side and closed his eyes since the light was hurting them. "What about Nick…? He's still in the gym… I… I can't leave him there…"
“Go to sleep. He’ll be there when you wake up…” she took the phone and called. “They’ll be here in a couple of minutes. Hang tight okay?” She walked off to go get Nick who was in the gym.
"Kay…" Lucas closed his eyes and quickly passed out, going limp on the cot.
