"We're armed, go away," A deep voice called, followed by the sound of a round being slid into the chamber of a gun, "No one else is going to rob us today." Delia listened carefully, sighing at the sound of a gun, and shrugging her own off her shoulder. It would be difficult to use but she pulled it to her shoulder anyway, balancing on one of her crutches and her good leg as she aimed towards the door just in case.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Not intending to rob you. Now come on outta the house." Jay retorted, drawing out his gun. Blythe smirked slightly, drawing out her own gun.

@gracehustle

"No." This time it was a kid's voice that answered, and a quiet scolding could be heard moments later before the deep male voice answered again, "Step away from the door first, and put down your guns."

@gracehustle

Seeing as Delia and her gun were mostly useless at this point, she fully set her's on the ground, listening for any other instructions.
"Scary lady and guy, you too," The kid voice said again, a hint of almost pride in his voice, "I can see you guys and we won't come out until you set down your guns." This time the male voice didn't scold the child, just added gruffly, "Are there any more with you or is it just you guys?"

@gracehustle

"…Fine, but if you shoot at us, I won't hesitate to kill your crutch buddy there," The male voice said again, clearly talking about Delia. There was a little scuffle behind the door but slowly it creaked open, revealing a boy most likely no older than six and a tall man who looked like his father. The man was strongly built, and with the shotgun in his hands, he didn't look like someone to mess with, "What do you want?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"A place to stay for the night." Jay replied. His hat was still keeping his pale hair hidden away, but there was no hiding Blythe's red eyes.

@gracehustle

The man scowled, glancing between the three and jabbing his finger at Jay and Delia, "You two only, she's one of them." His gaze shot to Blythe and he gripped his gun tighter, "That's my rule if you stay."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay frowned a little bit. "Blythe wouldn't hurt anyone." he replied, glancing over at the girl, then back to the man.

Blythe curled her lip a little bit. "I didn't choose to be one of them."

@gracehustle

"And how do you know that she wouldn't hurt anyone?" The man replied, clearly defensive as he put a hand on the little boy's shoulder, "I've had run-ins with people like her and as soon as there is any weapon that they could get their hands on, they're ready to kill the rest of us."

@gracehustle

"I won't believe it until I see it," The man said again, scowling at Jay and then Blythe, "You can stay for the night. Under on condition. I will hold onto your weapons until you leave. All of them."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Blythe narrowed her eyes. "No, you won't. I don't trust that I'll get them back. I'll give 'em to the crutch girl, or to Jay. Not to you." she gestured at Delia and Jay when she talked about them.

@gracehustle

He glared at her, then his glare turned to Delia, "Can I trust you? With my son's life?" The man asked.

Without hesitation, Delia nodded, already sure that she wouldn't let anything happen to the boy, "As long as you don't try to shoot one of my friends, you can trust me with his life."

This seemed to satisfy him and he relaxed ever so slightly, motioning for Blythe to hand over her weapons to Delia. "All of them will go to her, until you leave tomorrow, she will be in charge of them."

@gracehustle

Delia took the weapons, taking some time to stuff them into the pockets of her backpack that she could reach.

"Now you can come in, I'll show you to the room you can stay in." The man said, nodding at Blythe even though he still scowled at her, "I'm Thomas, for your information, and the boy is my son, Liam." With that, he motioned for the group to follow him as he turned into the house with his gun gripped tightly in his hand.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Blythe nodded a little bit, feeling bare without the weapons she was accustomed to. Jay was just glad that his hair was hidden away beneath the hat as they went inside.

@gracehustle

"There's a spare room down the hall, I hope you three don't mind sharing," Thomas said, leading them into the house. On the left was a large living room, and on the right was a spacious kitchen and dining room, both on either side of a hallway leading through the house from the front door. Like he had said, there was a spare room, down two doors on the left and directly across from a staircase leading to the second floor.

Delia was silent, though walked behind Thomas, scanning the house warily.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded a little bit, eyes flashing around the house. He knew he wouldn't be taking his hat off tonight, not after Thomas's reaction to Blythe.

@gracehustle

He motioned into the room once they reached it, revealing a simple room that looked right in line with a farmhouse. A single bed was along the wall and a window was on the opposite wall, looking out at the barn. Other than that, it just had a gray rug and a wooden dresser near the bed. "If you want to eat, I'll be cooking something up in an hour or two." That was all Thomas said before turning and walking away, his son right on his heels.

Delia took the first steps into the room, looking around before setting her backpack right next to the dresser along with her gun, "You guys can take the bed, I can sleep on the floor."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded a little bit, then squinted at Delia. "I'm not sharing a bed with Blythe!" he exclaimed, glancing at the other girl for a moment. "No offense."

@gracehustle

"Then play rock paper scissors for it," She said, rolling her eyes and hiding a tiny smile, "I don't care who sleeps on the bed." Already she was settling in, sitting down slowly next to her bag with a satisfied sigh.

@gracehustle

Delia nodded, leaning against the dresser and setting her crutches to the side, "Sounds good." She went silent at that, rubbing her injured leg gently and just relaxing.

@gracehustle

She stayed quiet as she rubbed her leg, trying to flex it and finding out happily that it seemed to be healing. At least that meant that maybe soon she could ditch the crutches and just hobble along.

@gracehustle

"What are you thinking about?" Delia asked, rolling her shoulders as she settled onto her slightly uncomfortable spot on the floor of the room.
