He frowned a little. "Why?" he asked softly. He also wondered what or who Danny was referring to when he said "fuckin' pigs". But he wasn't going to ask about that.
He frowned a little. "Why?" he asked softly. He also wondered what or who Danny was referring to when he said "fuckin' pigs". But he wasn't going to ask about that.
Danny shrugged again. “Increase in ‘supernatural’ activity, I guess. That’s what I heard, anyways.”
"Oh." Alex replied softly. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing softly. "That sucks." he thought of his own curse, of the tattoo in the small of his back that was a constant reminder of the fact that, at any time, he could lose control of himself.
“I think it’s a steaming pile of bull, but..” Danny trailed off, pulling his knees up to his chest. “Think it’s just a stupid excuse to fuck up our way of life.”
Alex nodded a little bit. "I'm sorry, Danny." he said quietly, glancing over at Danny again. He realized again the divide between him and Danny. Because yeah, maybe Alex was cursed, but he didn't have to put it on his passport. He didn't face discrimination for it, and he hid it most of the time anyways.
“Thanks, thanks. Tell ya what, if I see any cops at the damn gig tonight, someone’s getting hauled out in a bodybag and I’ll go out in handcuffs.” Danny laughed raucously, his head tilted back.
Alex blinked, raising his eyebrows a little bit. "Uhm." he wasn't quite sure what the proper response to that was. So he merely looked at Danny with a confused, hesitant expression on his face.
Danny nodded knowingly, noticing the confusion on Alex’s face. “If I see a cop, I’m killin’ him.” It was odd- knowing Danny, it was hard to tell if he was joking or dead serious.
Alex frowned now, eyebrows drawing together. "I…can't tell if you're serious or not." he said slowly, blinking in confusion as he looked at Danny.
Danny shrugged. “I dunno either. Guess it depends on how the night goes.” He laughed a bit, head peeking up as he heard the apartment door bang open.
He took a deep breath. "Yikes. Guess I better not ever introduce you to my dad then." he replied, shaking his head. "Ex-cop, you'd probably hate him." Only an ex-cop because he's so sick now.
Danny breathed out through his teeth. “Guess not,- Hugo, hey!” Danny waved to the new werewolf that had walked into the apartment. He was huge, especially compared to Danny- a tall, hulking beast of a werewolf.
“Hey. Who’s this?” Hugo pointed to Alex, running a hand over his buzzcut hair.
Alex turned, raising his eyebrows as he saw Hugo. "Oh. I'm Alex." he said with a hesitant smile, unsure how to behave. Jesus Christ he's huge.
Hugo scanned Alex up and down, dropping his backpack on the rickety kitchen table. “..Alright. Hugo. Nice to meet you.”
Danny grinned, standing up to meet his packmate. Hugo was easily half a foot tall than Danny, and it was easy to see. “Yeah, Alex ‘n I went to school together, ain’t that nuts?”
Alex dipped his head in a nod. "Complete opposites, but we shared like…two or three classes." he chuckled softly, feeling extremely short as he looked up at the two tall men.
Hugo nodded, only seeming partially interested in what they had to say. “I have work to do. Keep it down or I’ll skin you alive, and I mean it.” He grunted, taking his backpack and walking to his bedroom.
“Ha.. yeah. That’s my older brother.” Danny grinned, sitting down. “Cool guy.”
Alex raised his eyebrows a little, and shrugged his shoulders. "Yes, except for the threat to skin us alive, I'm sure he's very cool." he replied with a faint laugh.
“Agh, he’s just like that, y’know?” Danny stretches, resting his arms on the back of the couch. “But hey, what’s your family like?”
"Uhm. I'm an only child, my mother does a lot of art, and my father, the ex-cop, is sick and probably dying." he shrugged his shoulders, looking away for a moment.
“Oh, wow.” Danny raised his eyebrows, tilting his head. “That.. sucks. Sorry about that, brother.”
He shrugged again. "It's fine. Not your fault." he let out a faint, loose, forced chuckle. "I've got uncles and aunts and cousins, too. Just no siblings."
“Sure, sure. It’s like, the exact opposite for me, kinda. I’m tryna think about everythin’, hold on. Let’s see, I got.. aunts and uncles ‘n shit, I’d say.. 40 siblings? Kinda? Direct packmates, I mean. Close enough to be siblings.”
He nodded a little bit. "Sounds noisy." he said with a laugh. "But…like you've always got people around, then, I guess."
He nodded enthusiastically, a sharp grin spreading onto his face. “God, it’s so loud. But it’s amazing, you know? I fucking love people.” He laughed, tugging at his shirt collar.
(oh my god. my brain scrambled the words and I read that as "I love fucking people" and uhm. i think i need serious help lmaooo)
He chuckled softly. "Mm. That's another place where we're different, because I prefer my alone time, you know?"
(ok not ENTIRELY out of character. just a bad time for him to say itlmao)
“I used to pretend to be like that.” Danny nodded. “Emphasis on pretend, ‘cause if I’m ever by myself longer than.. I don’t know, like a day? I start to freeak, dude.”
(lmao)
"Nah, I actually am." he replied with a shrug. "I can stand to be alone for a long time. I entertain myself pretty well."
Danny nodded, not fully sure how else to respond. “Sure, sure. I mean, I don’t really get it, honestly, but I know what you mean.”
He shrugged again. "Yeah. And you're more social. Probably has to do with like…how we were each raised."
Danny nodded, yawning. “Yeah. Guess once you grow up with three dozen people around you 24/7, you sorta get used to it.”
