Vitalis sighed. "Calix could smite you… if vitalis doesn't stop him."

"you know what?he could but he wouldn't." he said with an easy smile, tilting his head and clasping his hands behind his back

"Yeah… Echo maybe." He offered.

He paled slightly, if possible, at the mention of the reaperess. "yeah, she wouldn't hesitate." he scratched the back of his head and flinched slightly

"Eh, your safe." Vitalis said then put an arm around him, "Something wrong?"

"death is both a friend and a terrifying enemy. I both love it and hate it all at once." he shook his head, green hair flopping about "yeah, as fine a crazy can get."

"Eh, she's not death… Just pals with death." Vitals said and laughed.

"that's what I'm afraid of." Brink murmured, hugging himself and looking away "but it's also what I look forwards to the most, ya know?"

"Yeah I know, also I promise death is pretty nice."

"you've met them?" Brink asked in wonder like a little kid who just found out that birthdays happen every year

"Yeah, played Monopoly with death once, they're nice… Also they beat me." Vitalis said and sighed.

“Aw that’s sad for you.” He laughed softly “you’re well over due for a rematch.”

"Probably, I'll have to bring that up tomorrow." He said and laughed.

“You see them tomorrow?” He asked in curiosity, swinging his arms back and forth while leaning his head on Vitalis’s arm

"Well yeah, I'll die again tomorrow. It's a boring cycle and slightly uneventful. I've died any way you could think of." Vitalis said and sighed.

“Oh, is that why it takes you a while to come back after a death?” He tilted his head towards Vitalis

"Yep, sometimes I have conversations and hang out a bit."

“Do ever just want to stay?” He asked softly, gaze dropping to the floor as they walked

"Yeah…. But I don't, I'd rather suffer out here." Vitalis laughed.

Brink nodded and grinned slightly "stay with the chaotic and broken rather than the peace and tranquility?" he gestured towards the space around them and shook his head, laughing aloud "dying every day must be truly miserable if you want to come back to this mess."

"Eh, if really isn't awful." He said softly and nodded.

"does it hurt? do you feel the pain every time you die?" He looked up at Vitalis worriedly

"Yeah, I always feel it before everything just goes numb." Vitalis nodded.

"Oh, then sorry about before, I didn't mean to land on you."

"It's fine, I've honestly felt even worse pain before."

"are you scared to die?" he asked softly "I know it happens all the time to you but do you ever think the death will be permanent?"

"…. Yeah I'm scared to die completely." He nodded. "Though I know i shouldn't"

"there's no way you can't die every day?" Brink asked, suddenly worried for Vitalis "you can just lock yourself in your house, for a day."

"Tried that, doesn't work out too well. Still die."

"what did you do in your house that got you killed? Jeez, you're a fragile thing, arentcha?"
