He held her comfortingly and rested his head against hers. ”I’m so sorry.” he told her before letting out a humorless chuckle at himself. ”I really am no good. I mean, ever since I became a vampire I’ve done a lot that I'm not proud of. I’ve tried to be better for you, yet all I seem to do is hurt you.” he said softly.
" p-please don't leave" she begged
He shook his head. ”I won't. I know how you feel about that. I’ll stay.” he promised. ”I’ll stay.”
Shr cried her shoulders bouncing
He continued to hold her. He wouldn’t leave her like that again… he wouldn’t leave her side for the rest of the day. He started rubbing her back in comforting motions.
'h-h e was here" she said
Lysander stiffened at her words. ”Alec?” he asked, almost begging to be wrong. But who else could it be? Alec was the only person Betty was really afraid of.
She nodded " he's gonna get me Ly" she trembled
He shook his head firmly. ”I won't let him. I promised to protect you.” he said, holding her closer. ”I know I haven't been doing a good job of it but I won’t leave you again. I promise.”
She cried into his shoulder
He wouldn't tell her to stop crying. As much as he hated seeing his brave wife like this, but he wouldn't make her stop before she was ready. ”I know that probably doesn't mean much considering what I've just done but I won't leave you alone. I won't let him near you.”
" H-He won't stop' she said
”I’ll make him.” he assured. By killing him.
She closed her eyes shaking uncontrollably
He sighed softly and held her close. In an effort to be more calming for her, he warmed himself up to an almost human warmth.
"don't leave don't let don't leave don't leave" she said over and over again
”I won't.” he replied softly, stroking her hair in an attempt to help her calm down. ”I’m not going anywhere, angel. I won't let go.”
" I'm scared" she said
”I know. It's alright to be scared.” he told her. ”It would be foolish not to be. But I’m here for you. I’ll do anything to keep you safe.”
" I thought I killed her ly but she regenerated" Betty said
He groaned before nodding. ”It’s alright, love. I know of a few ways to deal with a ghost.” he told her.
" I don't want to lose you" she said
”You won't.” he promised her. ”I may need some of your help to stop Marie though. But you won't lose me. I’ve made my choice.”
" why do you need my help" she asked
”Because I can't use salt.” he explained. ”If you make an incomplete circle of salt and get Marie inside then close it; she'll be trapped. She can't cross it to get out.”
She sighed but nodded
”There are other ways to deal with her, that's just how you can if she comes here.” he told her. ”An other way is to go to France, find where she is buried and burn the body.”
" you can go to France " she put a hand on her stomach " but I can't"
He raised a brow at her comment but shook his head. ”I won't go until I know that you’re safe from Alec.”
