@Fraust
Cas shrugged. "I dunno. Just kinda felt like coming, I guess. It's warm, and something I meet interesting people."
Cas shrugged. "I dunno. Just kinda felt like coming, I guess. It's warm, and something I meet interesting people."
Sorrel gasped, softly. "That's a great reason, truly. The beach is the territory of fate. You'll find anything here." He whispered, just as he put his hand into the grains of sand near him. He messed around for a second before he pulled out a little seashell, and tossed it towards Cas.
Cas managed to catch the shell and examined it curiously, not sure why Sorrel had thrown it at him. "Um… I suppose so, yes. I don't come here super often, though."
Sorrel tilted his head. "Ohh. Is that so?" He said, with a question in mind. 'If he doesn't come here often, why would he happen to be here now?' He thought to himself. He shook his head at the answer he thought up. "Hmm." He muttered, as he began to think of something Cas might like.
Cas was still examining the shell and wasn't paying attention to Sorrel too much. Honestly, there wasn't any particular reason why he came here besides he never thought to come. It was sometimes a nice place to go, though, considering he had no home to go to.
(Forgot to mention that he kinda lives on the streets oof)
( Oh my gosh that child- My heart- )
"You want to go out to eat? I love this place that's got a little restaurant nearer to the city, b-but it's got a great view of the beach." Sorrel said, accidentally stuttering. "Like, not like one of those 'date' kind of places. It's a hangout." He added, thinking it would make the question more normal. He didn't notice it, but it made it worse, but at least he knew he tried.
"Oh! Um… sure, if you'd like. I don't have any money, though… I-I mean, not on me." Don't tell him you're fucking broke. Cas seemed a little nervous now, not wanting a stranger to have to pay for him.
"Hey now, it's alright. Literally, I spend too much on myself as-is. This'll help me cut down on my spending on me. You'll be doing both of us a favor!" Sorrel said, reassuringly as he could. He practically always buys the bigger portions and appetizers, because he's somehow got a black hole in his stomach. "C'mon," He pouted, letting a little bit of his baby side show out.
"Alright, alright… if you're sure." Cas got to his feet and held Nix in one arm while he brushed the sand off of himself. "What restaurant did you say we were going to? I've got Nix's papers, so he'll be allowed to come inside.
"It's a little place called 'The Sicillian', they serve Italian, it's beautiful inside." Sorrel began, as he listed random foods off of the menu. "I'd recommend the bread sticks and marinara sauce." He said, notifying Cas of his favorite food there. He licked his lower lip, and 'mmm' followed quickly after.
"Sounds pretty fancy." Which is probably why I've never been there. Cas followed Sorrel away from the beach, still carrying Nix. He would definitely feel bad if the bill was too expensive considering he had no way of paying Sorrel back.
Sorrel looked around the walking path, waving to the occasional face. "You know, you'll love it." He said, with determination in his tone. He low key began to skip after he said those words, feeling even more elated. He felt more free with Cas, and he didn't know why. "And if you don't, I'll be sure to make next time better." He whispered, softly, to Cas.
Next time? "I'm sure." Cas hummed as he just walked beside Sorrel. He hadn't really eaten in a while, so he didn't exactly have the energy to skip anyways. "How far is the place from here?" He asked, scratching gently behind Nix's ears.
"It shouldn't be but maybe five more minutes away, in walking terms." Sorrel said. He pointed at a quaint little building that wasn't that far away, and within eyes' view. "There. Right there." He said. The place looked almost like a glass building, except for the roof. Lights shone through the window-walls, and a creme color appeared to be prominent.
Cas nodded. Definitely looks fancy. He was still a little apprehensive, but he didn't voice it. He touched his pocket to make sure he still had Nix's papers, which he did, and continued walking with Sorrel. He had to walk a little faster than he normally would to keep up with Sorrel's longer legs.
Sorrel looked down at Cas, and noticed his change of pace. "Am I walking too fast? Oh gosh." He thought. He gradually slowed himself down, trying to make sure that Cas wouldn't notice. "You know, I wish I was your size." He said, softly. He remembered always being big, and never being able to get through spaces he wanted to.
( Cas you precious thing aww- )
(Cas is bby <3)
"Hmm?" Cas blushed a bit, looking up at Sorrel at his comment. "Oh, um… it's got its downsides, trust me. Kinda hard to hold your own in a fight if your opponent is a foot taller than you." Wait, normal people don't get into fights very often, do they? Ah, fuck.
"A fight? Dear me, now you need a guardian!" Sorrel said, with a laugh. The poor thing must be getting bullied, or something of the sort. "Now I'm honestly glad I met you, I'll be of much greater use to someone!" He said, with elation. He noticed that the place was extremely close then, and patted his back pocket. Wallet, check. He was prepared to make sure that Cas had the best 'date' of his life.
Cas laughed weakly, holding Nix a little closer as his heart starting pounding harder. He was just way too anxious that Sorrel might find out that he lived on the streets. He wasn't even sure why, but he figured it might be because Sorrel was so unpredictable that he didn't even know how the other would react. When they entered the restaurant, he handed Nix's papers to the host to prove that he was a service animal.
The host smiled, and allowed Nix inside the place. "Hey there! Could we have a table for two?" Sorrel asked a waitress that went by, they seemed to know each other. "Of course! I see it's a special occasion." She squeaked with excitement, racing to claim the table with the best view. "That's Melanie. She's an old friend of mine, nothing other than that." He said, as he smiled a little. He began making his way towards the table.
Cas put the papers back in his pocket and thanked the host, following Sorrel again. He kept looking around, seemingly in awe of how nice the place actually was. Even when he'd lived in a house with his dad, it wasn't anywhere near as nice as this restaurant. He nodded at Sorrel's explanation, sitting down at the table they were brought to.
Just as the two sat down, Melanie rushed into the room. "Hey! Here are your menus! Anything to drink?" She asked the two. "Well, I'll take a lemonade! Remember the cherries!" Sorrel said. He'd always loved the place's cherry lemonade, Melanie knew it well. "Sounds good! And for you?" She asked Cas.
"Um… just water is fine, ma'am." Cas set Nix in his lap and started looking at the menu. He was honestly a little overwhelmed by the amount of things on it, but he was really trying to not look like he hadn't been to a restaurant in years.
"Alright then! I'll be back in a little." Melanie said. As she was walking away, she smiled to herself. "It's been a while since Sorrel brought someone else in," She whispered, with a snicker. "So, what're your favorite flavors? I might be able to find things you'd like best," Sorrel asked.
"I'm really not picky, honestly." Cas sighed, resting his chin on the knuckles of one hand as he tried to make sense of the pictures on the menu. He could hardly read, after all, so all these fancy dish names were making his life rather difficult.
"Try this one. It's a chicken alfredo. It's delicious!" Sorrel said. He flattened his own menu, and pointed at a certain dish on Cas's. It looked like a chicken pasta, and seemed a little less extreme than the rest of the food. "I'll get it, too." He added. Not like it mattered what he got, it only mattered what Cas wanted.
"Alright. That sounds good to me." Cas shrugged and closed his menu, laying it on top of Sorrel's. "How often do you come here?" He asked. Pretty often, he assumed, considering the waitress knew him by name.
"Maybe three times a week. I'm dreadful at cooking, so I have someone else do it for me." Sorrel said, with a slightly embarrassed blush. "Like, the last time I tried to cook, I almost burned my kitchen down." He whispered, as if it were a secret of some sort. "But it's alright. I saved it." He giggled.
( Going to have to go for an hour- )
(Alrighty)
Cas laughed a bit as well. "It's been a long time since I've cooked." Well, I don't exactly have a kitchen. "I usually get stuff from the market in the square. Bread and stuff, you know. It's cheap, it's good, why not?"
( Back! )
"Bread's wonderful." Sorrel purred, thinking of a certain bread he really liked. After he said his words, Melanie returned with their drinks, and she passed them out. "What would you two cuties like to eat?" She asked. "I'll have the chicken alfredo," Sorrel replied to her. He decided to let Cas say his own order, rather than the usual 'same for him'.
