Aron frowned a little bit, still not sure he had done the right thing. Then he opened the door to the room, staff and sword in hand.
Aron frowned a little bit, still not sure he had done the right thing. Then he opened the door to the room, staff and sword in hand.
Cicada wasn't trying to take off, she was retracing her steps to find the van. She tried her damndest not to get lost in the maze-like city.
Syzen ultimately fell on himself. Here was the problem, he managed to fracture an ankle. He tried not to show his pain but unfortunately, with his powers taken away, he couldn’t bare it as much.
Kun eyed the man a bit. He reached up to an earpiece he’d kept hidden with his hair all this time.
”Okita-san, the man who just left the cafe, get him before he finds Sora” Kun said to the earpiece.
”Roger that” the man who had been watching from another building all this time followed the man who just left with his eyes. He ran across the roofs to follow the man, looking for a chance to strike.
The halls were empty, branching off in three directions. To the left, however, the sound of quick footsteps could be heard. The door to the room closed behind Aron.
Crow, once he saw Cicada was struggling a little to find her way back, spoke up.
"Want me to lead the way?" he asked, voice subdued.
The woman was preparing for another attack when she noticed how Syzen was holding himself.
"You good?" She asked, straightening up a little.
Coral sighed a little, settling back down into her chair. She held her drink in both hands, eyes closed for a moment.
"This isn't how I expected this to go," she admitted with a little smile, opening her eyes.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) was hurrying through the crowded streets, sticking to the edges. He pulled out a radio from his pocket, beginning to call in about the situation.
Cicada looked over at Crow and gave him a slight nod, "If you wouldn't mind."
Syzen made a dissatisfied tsk sound.
”Not necessarily. After losing my powers I think my physical powers have decreased and uh—“ he looked down at his ankles ”—I think I fractured an ankle…”
”Well?” Kun stood up and offered his girlfriend a hand.
”Should I take you to see something of a great experience? Might be a once in a lifetime experience though, just saying” the man said with a small laughter.
Sora arrived at the facility. He managed to break in through the ventilation systems. He looked around before dropping into the hallway. When he was sure no one was around, he opened the air vent.
Eisuke, whilst running on the rooftops, had his eyes on the man who left the cafe at all times. His main job as given my his author? Cause as much problem as possible. Some of his clear ribbons rushed down towards the man who blended himself into the crowd. Not attacking him, the ribbons tied themselves around the radio and snatched it from the man’s hands.
The Knight gave a satisfied smile and went a different route now with the radio at hand.
Crow nodded, stepping a little in front of Cicada and leading her through the city, back to the van. He would glance back occasionally to make sure she was still there. When they got back to the van, he held the door open for her.
The woman made a sympathetic face, nodding. She glanced up at the window in the wall.
"That should be enough for today," the person said over the intercom. The woman nodded, turning back to Syzen.
"You mind if I help with that?" she asked.
Coral smiled a little, taking Kun's hand and standing up.
"I don't see why not. So long as it isn't the ziplines- my grandma made me do that once and I was terrified." Coral giggled a little.
The sounds of a heated debate could be heard from a nearby room.
"Soldier A was cut off in the middle of a transmission, something musted be up!"
"L, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) would get cut off if he saw a dog. Nothing's wrong!"
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) cursed with the radio was taken from him, head wiping around to try and see who had taken them. He hightailed it to the van, getting into the driver's side.
"We need to go!" He nearly shouted.
Cicada hopped into the van. She figured he was all worked from the character earlier. She had a grin on as she sat down leaning her staff next to her.
”Absolutely not. That would be—“ Syzen cursed silently at himself ”—great appreciated as well” he stated. He limped when he tried to walk, falling down to the ground.
”Damn it” he smashed the ground a bit, unsatisfied by his current state.
”You’d be surprised—“ Kun started as a winged figure came soaring downwards with another figure who rode a winged, glowing, green horse.
”May I introduce you to Ichika and Kazumi” Kun gestured at the winged figure then the figure on the horse.
”Greetings!” both of them said in unison.
”You can choose who you want to go with. I’m fine with both”
Sora smiled as he silently rushed through the hall, coming across some officers along the way.
Shit. he hid behind the corners. He wanted to complete his mission, hopefully with no casualties on either side.
A figure appeared in front of the van out of seemingly nowhere.
”Here’s a present—“ the figure’s eyes were a glowing golden shade ”—from my Author!” he said with a menacingly fun tone as he coursed a level of voltage into the vehicle, one that would not harm the people inside too much but would break the vehicle down somewhat.
The figure also made sure that the tires were burnt or at least overheating. When everything was done, he disappeared with a smirk.
Eisuke was still running on the rooftops. He managed to slip into a dark alleyway and with that, he was now looking for a way to go to the facility in which one of the Viscount, one he respected, was held in.
Aron started to the right, still holding the weapons in his hands and racing through the hallways. Find a way out. Get out. Get home somehow.
Cicada felt the electricity run through her body and she stood up quickly exiting the vehicle. She looked around trying to figure out who had done so that she could travel with them and get out of this situation. She knew she would probably get punished back at the base and she would rather avoid that if possible.
The woman nodded, stepping over lightly and kneeling next to Syzen. She reached into her pocket, pulling out a glass ball. She held it in one hand, reaching out to Syzen's ankle.
"You fought well," she complimented. She lightly placed her fingers over the fractured part of Syzen's ankle. The glass ball started to glow a little, allowing the woman to use her own healing abilities to help Syzen.
Coral felt her stomach drop to the ground. If she was taken more than four feet off the ground, in any way, she would be screaming in someone's ears. Period. Still, she sucked it up and covered it all up very well.
"Hello!" she said, waving a little. She recognized both, of course.
"Ah, I think I'll go with Kazumi," she said, smiling.
The two soldiers were talking quietly, but one stopped.
"What's wrong?" Soldier K asked.
"Something's off," Soldier S said.
"Well, of course you'd sense something." Soldier K grimaced a bit, mumbling a little under his breath. "What's wrong?"
"A lot of shit…" Soldier S looked around, trying to spot… well, he didn't know what exactly.
It wasn't very hard to find a way to Area 51- there were a lot of signs plastered around from the whole "Raid Area 51" chaos that had gone down a few months before. It was far from the city, however.
There was someone else in this hallway too- the woman in blue. This was the third time she would have appeared around Aron. She spotted him, but said nothing, moving to press herself against the wall to not be in his way.
"Fuck!" andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) shouted, slamming his hand against the wheel of the car several times. "Fuck fuck fuck!!" He climbed out of the smoking vehicle, grabbing Crow's wrist and pulling him out as well.
"Get the fuck over here!" He demanded of Cicada.
Aron did indeed see the woman, but simply kept moving, eyes scanning for an exit. He still held the staff and sword, but moved a little painfully, the places where the first woman had hit him still stinging.
Cicada looked over at andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) and shrugged walking over to where andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) was. She couldn't see any savior and running off on her own especially when Crow was out was a bad, "Spirits, I was just checking everything out."
"Y-You're going the wrong way," the woman called after Aron. One moment, Aron was holding his own sword and the first woman's staff. Now, the staff disappeared.
"You h-have to hu-urry before they f-find you…"
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s hands went up to his head, and he pulled at his hair a little, letting out a low groan.
"Now's not the time to be pulling that kind of fuckery," andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) snapped at Cicada. He grabbed her and Crow's wrists, pulling them to the exit.
"We need to get back to the cafe, and deal with the damn Author who's doing this."
Aron turned. "What?" he frowned a little bit, not caring about the staff. He took a step closer to the woman. "I…"
The woman nodded over to a door.
"T-the exit. I-It's down that hall. T-They de-esigned it so-so no one wo-ould see the w-way o-ut and decide t-to take it." The woman was obviously nervous talking to Aron, not looking at him. She was acting the same way towards him as she had to the soldiers who had brought Aron in.
Cicada almost pulled her wrist back. She felt her heart rate spike as she was pulled along and kept her fight or flight instincts intact. She had a heavy frown on and stayed silent as she was pulled along.
Aron frowned a little bit. "Oh. Okay. Thanks, I guess." he replied with a quick smile.
Syzen eyed the woman a bit.
”You… you aren’t actually a ‘human’, are you?” he asked plainly. Deeply, he was thankful that the woman helped him though his curiosity was overwhelming the gratefulness.
Kazumi smiled and stepped down from their’ horse’. With their gloved hands, they gestured to the horse, providing a clue that they would service Coral as for now.
”Please allow me to carry you onboard” they said. Still, even if Coral knew who Kazumi was, their gender remains a mystery. No one can really be sure.
Kun, on the other hand, gave Ichika—the Draconian—a fist bump as the character transformed into a serpentine-like navy-colored dragon. Kun got on and sat down the serpentine dragon’s neck joint.
”Don’t kill me, but perhaps you should lose some weight…” Ichika’s voice echoed from the serpent.
”Is your story not messed up enough?” Kun asked with a hint of both anger and humor.
”I take that back. You’re perfectly fine sir”
Sora, the Knight who was already in the building, did not want to risk the chance of having himself be seen as out of the norm. When he saw the chance, he knocked out an officer and used his ability to silent them. He then wore the officer’s clothes so he’d be able to blend in with the facility. He walked down the hallway, following a scent he recognized.
Eisuke had a hard time reading the mapping. Even though he’d been familiar with the conversational part of the English language, its other features and complexities annoy him very much. Fortunately for him, Naoki came by to help him. Both of them were now headed for the facility, both of them were as silent as a pin drop.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) growled a little as they walked. Before, he had been very cordial. Now, though, he was at wit's end. He couldn't call in the emergency, his car was fried, he'd have to pay for all of the equipment out of his own pocket because of the scenario that caused all of this- he dragged Cicada and Crow through the crowds, pulling them to a stop when he saw what was unfolding with Kun and Coral.
"You little motherfuckers!" He shouted at them.
The woman glanced up, surprised by Aron's smile before returning it. The sounds of quick footsteps could be heard coming down the hall, and the woman's head whipped to face the sound.
"H-Hurry!" She pleaded, urging Aron to leave now.
"No, I'm not," The woman said, eyes still focused on Syzen's ankle. "Then again, not many in this place are." The woman glanced up at the window again, then spoke quietly.
"There's a rumor that even some of the soldiers here are characters."
Coral chuckled a little at the interaction between Ichika and her boyfriend, smiling.
"Oh, sweetie," she said playfully. She took a step towards Kazumi and the horse when andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) yelled at them. She turned to face him, a little pissed.
Two soldiers appeared at the end of the hallway Sora was in, one male and one female. They spotted Sora near immediately.
"Who are you?" The female soldier demanded.
On the dirt road leading to the base, a car was racing to the city. A very worried looking man was driving, while another man seemed to be trying to calm him down.
Aron nodded, and took off running towards the exit, sword held in one hand and ready to defend himself if he needed to.
Cicada tried to give the authors a look telling them this was not her idea. She did not want to be here. Please help her get away from this crazy man.
Syzen took in this new information, nodding ever so slightly. He looked at the woman again before asking…
”What’s your name? Or at least, what could I call you by?”
”Ichika—“ ”Got it” the serpentine draconian open his mouth as a blue orb charged within it. Upon releasing, it created a wall which blocked the street, making it impossible for the maniac to come through to them.
When Coral got on the horse, Kazumi followed to sit in front of her. The horse’s body then sprouted wings and a green metallic armor appeared around the horse, making the horse look more menacing than it did before.
”Alright—“ Kun started as the two mythical creatures started warming up ”—let’s go” both of them then took off at their own speeds; the serpent was, of course, a bit faster.
Kazumi made sure that Coral would be save on the horse as he’d already ‘locked’ the seat. By that, it would mean that as long as he was on the horse, anyone on with him can never fall off.
Great. My favorite question
Sora nearly cursed but calmed himself down.
”Soldier S, I just got a new hairstyle” he answered and shrugged, trying his best not to look suspicious. Although, he was ready for impact if his answer did build suspicion.
Both Naoki and Eisuke looked at the car as it passed by…
”You wanna just… ignore that?” Eisuke asked.
Naoki took a deep breath. ”Nope”.
He appeared on top of the car as it was moving and caused a little spark, causing the car to stop. From where he was, he knocked on the driver’s window.
Eventually, the hall Aron was running down opened up into a hanger- there were several military planes inside, and cars were lined up on the other wall. The door outside was across the room. Of course, there was a small group of soldiers nearby. No one had spotted Aron yet, though.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) screamed in frustration, grabbing Crow and Cicada's wrists again.
"I'm fucking done!" He dragged them along, heading back to the base. This was going to be a long walk.
"Allani," the woman replied. She finally finished, pocketing the orb and standing. She offered her hand down to Syzen.
Coral laughed at andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s anger, but quickly closed her mouth as they took off. She held tightly onto the back of Kazumi's clothes, eyes wide. Still, she was smiling brightly- the damn adrenaline junkie, she was loving this. She was also terrified, but that couldn't really be changed.
The female soldier raised an eyebrow, reaching for her pocket when the male soldier stopped her.
"You and I both know that test wouldn't help." The female soldier huffed a little.
"If you really are Soldier S," the man said calmly, "What's your real name?"
The car rolled to a stop, and the sounds of heavy cussing could be heard inside. After a minute, the window slowly rolled down.
"Can I help you?" The man inside said calmly.
Cicada tried to keep her heartbeat still. She knew she couldn't do that being dragged around by Soldier A. So taking a deep breath she yanked her hand away from andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer), "I can walk on my own."
Syzen took the hand gratefully as he tested to see if his ankle was working properly now. Once satisfied, he turned back to the female.
”If you haven’t known already, I’m Syzen. Nice to meet you” he stated.
The horse glided through the air quite gracefully. Soon after, Kazumi turned to Coral. He smiled a bit.
”We’re going for a bit of a fun ride. I hope you don’t mind—“ he accelerated the horse as the creature glided down then up again, this time going above the low-level clouds.
(Crap… I did not think this through… ._.)
Sora, almost cursing at himself, stood there silent for a bit. He was going to have to use that, didn’t he? He reached into his pocket subtly and quickly pulled out and ignited a smoke flare, one specially designed by one of his colleagues. Once smoke blocked the two other soldiers’ views, he rushed down the hall.
”Sorry to ask but—“ Naoki’s head was upside down from the driver’s view ”—do you know where ‘Area 51’ is?” he asked like that was something someone on top of a car would ask on a daily basis.
Aron wondered if he could pilot one of the planes…but no. He knew he couldn't. He touched a finger to the wrist of his armor, and a display popped up. He scanned one of the cars. Primitive. Runs on gasoline. Easily taken over without key. The text scrolled across the display. He closed it, swiping it away with two fingers, and headed towards the nearest vehicle.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) froze when Cicada pulled her hand away, turning around to face her with fire in his eyes.
"Now, is not the time," he hissed at her. Crow stepped between andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) and Cicada a little, trying to placate the furious soldier.
"I'll make sure she stays with us, sir," he said, not risking disrespecting his Author at this current time. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) looked between Crow and Cicada, finally growling out a "You'd better" before turning on his heel and marching away. Crow looked at Cicada, motioning for her to follow andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer). He moved to walk behind her.
"Nice to meet you too," Allani said. She made her way to the training room door, which was unlocking from the outside and opening. A female agent stepped in, smiling brightly.
"That was amazing," she said.
Coral gave a nervous chuckle.
"What exactly does tha-" She cut herself off with a loud yelp, squeezing her eyes shut and knuckles turning white. When they leveled off, she opened her eyes a little.
"That was… awesome!" she said, making a point to keep her eyes at or above the horizon line. Any lower, and she figured she'd pass out. She could easily see the mountains from her, grin widening.
The two soldiers sputtered a little.
"H-HEY!" The female one called out after Sora. She cursed, reaching for her radio.
"We've got a rogue," she spat into it, trying to find her way out of the smoke. "Wearing Soldier S's uniform." The woman managed to get out of the smoke, coughing. The male soldier was already out, still calm.
"Let's go," he said. With that, the two of them darted down the hall, trying to find Sora.
The man stared at Naoki, one eyebrow raised.
"That way," the person in the passenger side seat said, pointing in the direction the car was traveling from.
"Though I'm not sure if you want to go there." Static came from their radio, relaying the female soldier's message. "There seems to be a lot of drama going down today." The man in the driver's seat cursed a little. He rubbed the bridge of his nose.
The group of soldiers was just a few feet away from Aron now. Static came through all of the radios, and each looked at the others with worry. Two broke off, heading to block the main exit door. Another two moved to block the large hanger doors. The last one moved down the hall Aron had come from, lips pursed in worry.
Aron slipped into a car, and pressed his wrist against the keyhole. The car rumbled to life after just a minute, and he ducked low, trying to keep them from seeing him. He slammed down on the gas and sent the car racing towards the exit.
