andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) nodded, heading inside. He was making his way directly to Kun when he saw who he was sitting with.
"…Well, shit," he mumbled under his breath. Now, he brought Cicada over to an empty table nearby, positioning himself to where he could keep an eye on the pair without Coral seeing him.
"This makes things complicated…"
"Thanks," the woman said, just as calmly as before. She whirled around on her heel, going in to strike again. That seemed to be her main tactic; attack so much Syzen wouldn't be able to counter-strike.
How?? This government keeps all characters from being able to come over wherever they wish. There was a pause, then they started writing again.
You're Author isn't from this country, are they?!
(That means a lot to me, thank you sweetie <3)
Coral smiled at her boyfriend's excitement, but shook her head. Her response had to wait, however, because the waiter came over with their order.
"Thank you!" she said, quite happily, to him. She took a small bite of her tart, smiling in bliss. After a moment, though, she continued to speak.
"No, I haven't actually made a Constellation-based character. It's actually about Syzen. Him and one of your other characters. You remember how I said I'm interning at a government facility?"
"I'm assuming because they're with someone," Cicada responded taking a seat and looking around the establishment. She spotted whom they were about to walk over to before being so rudely tugged away, "Probably someone from the facility right?"
Syzen was amazed by the female’s capability. There was one thought on his mind: This individual would make a great Knight. He leaned to the side when the female attacked. If his thought process had been correct, she would be able to dodge his counter attack.
Upon dodging down, Syzen used his hands as a center of rotation to launch himself against the female, kicking her in the stomach towards another end of the room.
”That would be correct!” Noel wrote down with a satisfied smile. He expected more shock from the other honestly but this would do.
”Hmm? Yeah, why?” Kun asked.
The waiter, whilst preparing the drinks, was listening to the conversation as well. The waiter was definitely interested in the conversation as given by the fact that he leaned closer when his… when Kun spoke.
"Yeah. She joined a couple months ago, when several characters of hers managed to escape and get to her." andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) leaned towards the other table slightly, just barely able to make out what they were talking about. His eyebrows creased a little, and he looked… inconvenienced at best.
The woman let Syzen kick her, surprisingly. However, she grabbed onto his foot, pulling him with her and then using the energy to toss him towards the wall. A little bit of static laughter could be heard from the intercom; whoever was watching was enjoying this.
!!! This was all the person wrote for a few minutes, but eventually they came back.
I've been asking around, and everyone says this is the first time something like this has happened!!!
Coral took a deep breath. She was honestly terrified Kun would think she was crazy, so she wasn't going to say a lot on the subject.
"Well, they showed up. Seeing as, from what I've heard, this is Syzen's second time at the facility, I'm wondering just how much you have to do with this." She fidgeted with a loose string on her jeans, the only thing keeping her thoughts from spiraling down into chaos.
Syzen winced when he hit the wall. His calculations were slightly off. He heard the intercom though and when he regained his posture, spoke up.
”Hey! You, watching this! Can you get another person in here? One’s kinda boring” he asked teasingly.
Noel laughed a bit when he saw what the other entity wrote.
”Well accept it. It’s the reality now. Oh, plus, my co-worker’s been in here twice now so I don’t really know” the Viscount wrote quite calmly.
Kun accepted that he couldn’t get away with this much information now… so he gave in.
”If you remember, last time I had one of the Viscounts, to be specific mister Ansel go get him and for some reason, it worked. This time though, I’m not entirely sure why he appeared here…” he quickly eyed the waiter when he walked to the table.
”Chocolate frappe with whipped cream for the gentleman and French vanilla cappuccino for the lovely lady” the waiter spoke as he turned back towards the counter.
The waiter, though, eyed Kun a bit.
Kun gave the waiter a subtle nod as the waiter also replied with a nod, walking to the backroom.
”As I was saying, though it sounds ridiculous, he might have missed the feeling of being in your facility, I’m not entirely sure” with that said, Kun took a slurp of the drink he ordered and leaned back.
”Brain freeze! Brain freeze!! Gahhhh!!”
"So authors whose characters find them end up having to work in the facility?" Cicada frowned and leaned back in the chair. Her staff now at her side, "That doesn't seem fair."
"I feel a little insulted," the woman fighting Syzen said. She paused for a moment, just standing there. Her body finally started reflexing her attitude, much more relaxed now.
What the fuck??!!! The person had definitely warmed up once Noel had proven to be an interesting source of gossip.
The first thing Coral felt was relieved. Thank god, she didn't look like a fool. She listened as Kun spoke, looking between the waiter and him when she caught the nods. She raised one eyebrow slightly, but she didn't ask. She'd probably say something incredibly stupid if she did with how she felt right now, so she just let her boyfriend continue.
"I heard about that," she said, chuckling a little. Agent U had nearly had a heart attack when she heard, and Coral wished she had been around to see it. It died off when Kun said something about Syzen missing the facility.
Coral chuckled softly in good humor when Kun got a brain freeze, but she was a little concerned.
"You good?" she said, leaning towards him a bit. She didn't touch her own drink, knowing it'd be too hot to drink at the moment.
"Not forced, per say. They can refuse if they wish to, but then they're wanted criminals, and deadly forced can be used. Although, if they make it to another country there's nothing we can do." andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) shrugged, leaning towards Kun and Coral again. By now it was quite obvious he was watching them, other patrons giving him weird looks.
Syzen smiled under the shadows of his face. Even though his powers were gone, he could still sense… him. One person who could help him escape with not much of a problem.
Noel felt quite entertained by the person but his exhaustion was perhaps too overwhelming. He closed the notebook, laid down on the bed, and almost immediately fell asleep.
Kun chuckled a bit.
”I’m fine, I’m fine” he stated. When he returned to his normal state, he eyed the person who sat on another table.
Clearly, they were listening to the conversation he was having with his girlfriend.
Soon, the waiter would come out… in a black suit with a red necktie…?
”You sure you’re good?” Kun asked the waiter as if they’ve known each other ahead of time.
The eyes of the waiter changed to a bright crimson red as a red substance covered both of their arms.
”Couldn’t be more ready—“ with that, the waiter rushed through the door of the cafe with an godly speed.
”This man…” Kun sighed and shook his head in both frustration… and satisfaction.
”You need explanation?” he asked his girlfriend after the ‘waiter’ had left.
"Let's get back to the fight, shall we?" the person over the intercom finally said. The woman in the room rolled her eyes, but she fell back into an offensive stance again. This time, she waited for Syzen to make the first move.
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) didn't back down when Kun saw him, but watched with mouth agape as the waiter reappeared in the new outfit and took off.
"Ah… One would be nice," Coral said. She'd been a bit surprised at first, but she figured out pretty quickly the basics of what had just happened. Of course, she had no idea where the 'waiter' had run off to, or why exactly, but she had a general idea of what he was.
Syzen cracked his neck and knuckles before he rushed the female figurine. Upon getting close though, he slid pass her and jumped back using his arms as guiding pads to allow him to press himself against the female’s back, launching her and himself forward.
”That’s Sora, one of my newer characters. He’s a bounty hunter and a professional one as well. When I decided to come here, I thought that it might be a good idea to have him and his other four colleagues around the place in case I need help from them…” he glanced outside.
”Fortunately, you came by a vehicle so his job was made to simpler, he’ll just need to follow the scent left behind back to the facility you came from” Kun shrugged a bit when he said the following. He then took another sip of his drink as if what he said was ‘normal’.
Cicada stood up as she saw the waiter rush out in a new outfit. She hadn't been expecting that and wanted to run after to see where he was going. Of course the author answered that for her when she heard him talk about going back to the facility they came from. She didn't sit back down and instead left the establishment in a slight rush, now was her chance to break away and hey, maybe she could help the other person with whatever they were doing. She just needed to not get caught by this world's government. Once she was out of the building she went to a more secluded area before scaling the wall trying to get on top of the building doing so with some ease. Though the different building material and smoother sides made it a bit difficult.
The woman hissed a little, backing up slowly.
"You're not going to get away with this," she said in a low voice.
Aron smirked. "Who, me? But of course I am." he replied.
The woman let Syzen slam into her back, but as soon as they were pushed forward she ducked under him, going into a tumble. If he stayed against her, he would be slammed into the ground. If he pushed away from her, his own force would cause him to go flying.
Coral listened, picking up her cappuccino and blowing on it softly before taking a sip. She nodded, folding her right leg over her left.
"I see," she said when Kun finished. Under normal circumstances, she would be freaked out. As it was, though, she couldn't really say anything. She herself had several characters with her at all times.
"Hopefully he won't run into too much trouble."
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer), when he saw the now confirmed character dash out, he leaped to his feet, his chair falling to the ground. This caused Coral to jump, and she turned to find the source of the sound.
"Goddamit," She mumbled under her breath. "It's fucking andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)…"
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) was too distracted by the new development to pay much attention to Cicada, so she was able to get away easily. On the roof, the pull at her gut was stronger, trying to lead her out of the city. It was also hard to see much of anyone in the crowd, people jostling against each other and making it very hard to pick out individual people.
"My… My Author's already called for backup. There'll be too many for you." The woman continued her backward path, towards the door.
Aron slashed at her with the sword. "We'll see about that." he replied, following her towards the door.
Cicada looked out towards the city limits. She could feel the pull leading her out there to the desert she knew was beyond. She let a deep breath and backed up a few paces, she could definitely follow the her gut now. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) was distracted, she just had to make it back to the van before she did. It wouldn't be that hard to jump to the next roof and over and so she did. Slowly and cautiously Cicada made her way through the city along the rooftop of it's buildings only stopping to reroute because she couldn't make the jump.
The woman jumped back just in time, grunting as her back hit the wall. She was right by the door, but she didn't try to open it. Instead, she moved to block Aron's path to it. Still, she looked… scared.
Occasionally people would point up to Cicada, but so far no one had arrived to stop her. People must have thought it was a promotion for something, a new movie perhaps. No matter what, the pull was always in the same direction, trying to take her directly to the source.
Cicada spotted the people pointing and slipped down the side of a wall. She rolled at the end to get rid of her extra moment. She felt the tug still and kept following it, it had to lead somewhere good. Maybe it would help her get back home.
Aron sidestepped, swinging with the staff now. He didn't want to kill her, just get her out of the way so he could get the fuck out of here, and maybe figure out what was going on.
The pull was leading her to the edges of the city, and beyond. When she got to the edge of the city, however, someone was blocking her.
"You shouldn't have left," Crow said, face serious.
The woman let out a little whimper when the staff hit her, but she held her ground. She had to stall Aron.
"I'm not letting you leave!" She said.
Aron rolled his eyes. "I think it's obvious by now that there is no letgoing on here." he replied. "Now, you have two choices. You can die, or you can stay the fuck out of the way."
Cicada looked at him and held her staff in her hands ready to fight. She looked at Crow, "Yeah, but he didn't notice. Or clearly he did since your out."
"You act as if I won't die if you go through those doors," the woman said, holding her ground.
"As if my Author won't deem me useless and…" she shuddered a little.
"He's busy getting word to the facility about the new threat," Crow said. He flicked his wrist, and his arm turned into a blade.
Cicada looked at Crow seeing how his arm was now a blade. She took a step forward confidently and spoke evenly towards them, "I expected as much. Something's telling me to go out here, and I'm going to follow it. Understand me?"
"You see, that's exactly why I can't let you go," Crow said.
"Just turn back now, before it's too late." Crow took a step forward as well, scowling a little.
Cicada kept her hands on her staff, but her posture became more docile as she scowled, "Fine. Take me back to the van or whatever. I just wanted to explore a little, and this felt the right way to go."
Aron narrowed his eyes. "Well, I can't trust you to come with me. So would you rather I knock you out?" His voice was cold.
Crow eyed Cicada for a moment, and flicked his arm again, turning it back into flesh. He came over and lightly took ahold of her upper arm.
"Thank you," he said calmly.
The woman hesitated, then nodded slowly.
"Please," she says in a small voice.
Cicada pulled her arm away from Crow and began walking back towards the city, "Whatever. Let's get back to the van."
Aron nodded. He raised the staff, hitting her head hard enough to knock her out, but not hard enough to kill.
Crow pressed his lips, staying behind Cicada to make sure she was actually going back and not trying to take off.
The woman crumpled, the door no longer blocked. She'd given in rather easily…
