She rolled her eyes in annoyance back. " Sooooo what do we do now?" She asked out of curiousity.

The king looked at the seven people he grimaced, "As some of you may know, the Everflame was just stolen. This lead to me calling all of you here."

Tay stood up, throwing quick glances around the room.

(I'm going to a book festival soon, so if I leave, control Tae-Min while I'm gone)

"Er, your majesty, if you don't mind my asking, why have you brought us here in particular?" Rosalaine took her cloak off and folded it in her arms, revealing the dress she was wearing underneath. She wondered how her friends would react to finding out she wasn't a commoner.

"I don't wanna," he whined, putting a hand through his hair.

" I dont understand, what does this have to do with us?" She asked.

So this is what I get for repeating the same routine every day! Arrientel thought to herself.

"Each of you have a connection to a spirit," King Xzavier looked specifically at Cicada. She shrunk down into her hood, "Or you are connected to someone as such. I am begging you to go and check on the other three spirits. We must ensure their safety."

Rose was wearing a dress. He glanced at her.

"Thank you." She turned back to King Xzavier. "So you wish for us to ensure that the others are safe?"

" Eait wait wait, hold up. You can't just expect us yo believe this and sent us on a wild goose chase." She gestured.

"Yes," he responded, "That is my main priority. Afterwards we can discuss retrieving the Everflame."

"I want to go home." he got down on his knees. "Please? Please!" his wings folded, dropping a few feathers here and there.

"If you have any doubts ask Cicada," he gestured towards her.

"Wait, what do you know?" She asked Cicada suspicously, backing away from her.

"I mean, he is the king. Why would he bring us here for no reason?" Rosalaine said pointedly. "So what am I connected to? You said we were all connected to one of the spirits."

The king looked at her, "I shouldn't say. The spirits wouldn't wish for me to."

"Umm, hello? I exist, can you like, oversimplify for me?" Arrientel smiled as best she could without dying a little on the inside.

"Does it have something to do with royal blood?" Rosalaine's mother, Queen Reagan, looked down at her. "Now, Rosalaine, stop asking questions."

Cicada glared at her second cousin, "I don't know a lot."

Xzavier looked at Reagan gratefully. He turned to the girl who seemed lost, "How much have you heard?"

"I've heard everything you all have said since I got here if that's what you mean."

"That is what I meant," the king put his head in his hands, "I've told you all everything I can tell you. The Everflame's been stolen by someone, I need you seven to go check on the other three spirits for their safety, and the you can be on your way. I'll provide you with food and supplies, anything you need."

"And, umm who are all the other people?" She said gesturing to the others.
