Teaching Leo to hunt would be useful, especially if he was able to catch food and help Jay. "That sounds good," She said as they finally made it to their bags and she sat right back where she had before, painfully aware of how little she could help with food gathering with talking about Leo getting taught to help.

@gracehustle

"I think teaching him how to play fetch and listen to commands might be good to start," She suggested, knowing that at least him being able to fetch could help when teaching the puppy how to hunt. Said puppy bounded over quickly when Jay and Delia got back, his tail wagging happily as he jumped on them and looked for any sort of attention.

@gracehustle

Delia looked up at him and smiled, "If you want you can go start training him, I think we have enough wood here that I can make a fire and warm up whatever food we have left."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay nodded. "Alright." he whistled at Leo. "Come on, boy." looking at Delia again, he said, "I'm going to take him a bit of a ways away to work."

@gracehustle

"Ok, be safe." She watched Leo trot over to Jay and smiled gently before starting to get the wood set up for a fire. There wasn't a ton of wood, but it would be enough for a small fire to heat the can of soup she had found in the bottom of her bag.

Delia watched them walk away, lighting the fire after a few failed attempts and then moving on to the problem of getting the can open. She knew how to do it, but her knife wouldn't poke through the top of the lid for some reason.

@gracehustle

Struggling, she eventually did get the can open, muttering a string of curses towards the lid as she cut and put it over the flames once she was satisfied. Now all there was to do was wait until it heated up and for Jay and Leo to come back.

@gracehustle

"How did training go?" She asked when the two of them returned, and even though she had already eaten, two thirds of the can was still left carefully warming over the fire for them. Delia smiled gently and leaned back on her pack, watching the two of them.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay sighed softly. "Ugh. He's got a long ways to go." he replied, shaking his head and looking at Leo. Leo wagged his tail happily, looking up at Jay.

@gracehustle

She laughed lightly and looked over at the puppy with a smile, "Did you make any progress?" Nodding towards the can, she glanced up at Jay, "That whole thing is for you two, you earned it.'

@ElderGod-Icefire

Jay smiled. "Thanks." he took the can, and served Leo some of it, then began to eat. "We made progress, yeah, but it's gonna take a while for it to be anything good."

@gracehustle

"What did you start teaching him?" She asked, moving her pack out of the way and stretching out so she was laying flat and watching the sky.

@gracehustle

Delia nodded, looking over at him and smiling, "I have a feeling you didn't get very far in teaching? Leo seems to agree with me." She glanced at the puppy, tail wagging as he padded over, puppy eyes in full gear and probaby hoping she had more food.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He shook his head. "No, not at all. He didn't want to stay, for one thing. And fetching…" he shook his head. "He fetched, but he also chewed the stick into five pieces."

@gracehustle

"Naughty puppy, you can't destroy the training supplies," She said with a laugh, "Did you at least bring the stick back before chewing it up Leo?" Leo's tail just wagged harder and he pawed at her arm, getting her to reluctantly start to pet him as he decided to step onto her and just about squish all the air out of her lungs.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yes, he brought it back, but then refused to drop it, and chewed so hard that it broke." Jay explained, finishing up his food and setting the can aside.

@gracehustle

Deli laughed after pushing the puppy paw off her chest, shaking her head, "That's not good, at least he knows how to fetch though." Leo didn't like her pushing his paw off her chest and he whined before laying down next to her and resting his head on her stomach instead.

@gracehustle

"You'll get the hang of it eventually, won't you Leo?" She asked the puppy jokingly, his tail wagging when she scratched behind his ears, "You just have to learn to listen better."

@gracehustle

Delia closed her eyes and sighed, happy that it was still pretty early in the day. It was nice out and she could lay in the sun for the first time in forever, which also made her very happy.

@gracehustle

"Can we stay here today?" She asked gently, opening one eye and glancing over at Jay as he pet Leo. She really didn't want to get up, and one day of a break didn't sound bad.
