"That looks terrifying. Don't you get scared, being up so high on ice?" Angelique asked, staring up at the ice tower. Personally, Angelique was severely afraid of heights. Being on a tower, even if it wasn't slippery, would make her panic; she admired the other queen for her bravery.
"No, not really. I trust my abilities, I won't let myself fall." She found the journal, then moved to the outermost section of the ice. She curved it and slid down, the ice disappearing once she reached the ground.
Angelique nodded, smiling politely. "What's in that journal?" She asked curiously.
"You see how it's water logged?" Aeryn asked, flicking through the pages. "My mother taught me something when I was younger, before she died."
She put the journal on the floor and kneeled beside it.
Angelique cautiously went over to Aeryn and looked over her shoulder. What could have made the water damage? Maybe the queen had frozen it in ice.
Aeryn could see Angelique's quizzed look. "My grandfather died in a lake. This was the only thing on his person when he was retrieved. That's why it's water logged."
Angelique nodded. "What's in it that's so important?" She asked curiously.
"It's not necessarily what's in it, but what's trapped in it. Sure, I control ice. But there's something else I can do. I don't know, it's hard to explain."
Angelique blinked, utterly confused. "Alright, then," she said softly, eyes flicking back down to the book.
Aeryn pressed her hands to the books. "I want to see the battle. Show me that battle." The water droplets in the book slowly began to rise up. They enveloped Aeryn and Angelique, avoiding Adelaide. The two queens were the ones who needed to see the truth.

Angelique yelped in surprise, looking at the water with fascination. This is amazing, she silently gushed. She was going to have to find out the power behind that at some point.
"Show me the battle exactly as it happened. Don't skip any details. We need to know." The water became cloudy, obscuring them from the outside world. It began to close in on the pair. "SHOW ME!" It enveloped them.
Angelique flinched as the water came closer. What an incredible power to have.
Aeryn opened her eyes, standing up. She rubbed her temples, icing them slightly. After a few moments, she took the ice away. "So this is another thing I can do. My mother was a rare royal. She had no magic, but she was from a long history of a different kingdom. What we think happened is that the powers she were supposed to happen were transferred to me. Not Gaius, but me because I'm female as well. And this is what she could do, before she lost it. She could use any water to create a memory, even one she didn't know."
Angelique smiled, fascinated. "That's incredible, I've never even heard of powers like it. Your family is certainly an extraordinary one."
Aeryn blushed, then started to look around. She heard something, and grabbed Angelique's hand. "This way. I hear something."
Angelique felt her ears grow hot, and nodded. "Do you know where we are?" She asked quietly.
"We're in the battle, before it began. No one can see or touch us, it's like we're not here. Just spectators."
