Lucien took a deep breath, and led the two to his father's room, hoping this would go well.

Aki follows after, his eye downcast. He didn't want to make any movements that would upset the kind. The king was still the king.

Lucien knocked. The door was opened after a few minutes.

Aki stood behind Lucien, inhaling shakily before looking at Lucien and holding his hand tightly.

Lucien held Aki's hand gently.

The king raised his eyebrows. "Yes?"

He smiled a little bit at the gentle hand and kept his gaze down. He'd let Lucien do the talking.

Lucien explained what had happened, holding his ground in front of his father.

He inhaled shakily before keeping his eyes shut. He clenched on top Lucien's hands, his eyes shutting.

Lucien finished, studying his father carefully. His father closed his eyes for a moment. "I see."

Aki stayed quiet. He didn't want to aggravate or anger the king. He knew what happened to people that pissed off the king.

(not gonna be too active. I got in a fight with my siblings and we're all in trouble 🙄)

Lucien and the king continued to talk for a while, Lucien staying firm about not hurting Aki or forcing him to leave.

Aki kept his head down and his mouth firmly shut, but he did cling tightly to his boyfriends hand, praying that everything would work out. He was so scared, his breath trembling.

The king finally sighed and said fine, he wouldn't do anything, but they needed to figure out a cover for René.

At this Aki spoke up. "With all due respect, your highness… I thought that we agreed on a cover story for Rene? He was being threatened during the time, so the court faked his death and placed him in hiding until the threat had passed." he says softly.

"Ah– yes, of course. I only meant we need to figure out exactly how to handle that. Fine-tune the details, so to speak."

Aki nods slowly. "I can address the cards and see if there is anything we can do to solidify it." He mutters quietly.

The king nodded a little. "Of course. Let me get dressed and eat a bit, and then I will talk with some of the advisors."

Aki nods and turns to Lucien, his eyes filled with anxiety. He needed to get out of the room and get some fresh air.

Lucien shot him a gentle smile, quietly excusing them from the king's presence and leading René and Aki out into the hallway.

Aki instantly relaxed when he saw that smile, he knew that he was going to be okay. He stayed by Lucien's side and shut his eyes as he relaxed. He was glad that he was with the other, glad that they were out in the hallway.

Lucien smiled happily at Aki again, and kissed the other male's cheek softly. "How are you feeling?" He asked softly.

Aki glances up at the other, blinking a little bit before smiling warmly. "I feel better. Stronger." He hummed softly, leaning into Lucien's side. He was glad that the whole thing with the king was over with.

"Good." he replied, kissing Aki's cheek again and holding onto the magician. "I love you." he added in a quiet voice, nuzzling a little bit.

Ali smiled, leaning into the kiss and kissing Lucien's hand smiling sweetly. "I love you too, my prince." He mutters softly, his gazed filled with nothing but adoration and love.

Lucien smiled a little bit, holding him close. "Good." he replied, closing his eyes as he held Aki as close as he could.

Aki smiled before leaning into the other. "We should probably go get some breakfast. I have no doubt that Rene might be hungry." He smiled over at the young prince.

Lucien blinked. "Oh. Yeah. I forgot about that." he said with a laugh, looking over at René. "Come on, let's get breakfast, then." René grinned. "Thanks!"

Aki seemed relaxed and happy as he walked beside the other. His stomach growled quietly, and he chuckled into his hands, "I think all of us could use some food."

Lucien smiled. "I think so too." he replied, looking over at Aki and then starting to walk.

He walks beside at the other and kissed his cheek. He just wanted them to be happy, and here they were. Happy and they had each other. Rene was back. There was nothing to worry about anymore.
