"Oh." What she was saying hit him in the face. "Um… fantastic." He sighed. "Nice dinner?" He pushed himself onto his feet, randomly realizing how much smaller she was than him.
"Oh." What she was saying hit him in the face. "Um… fantastic." He sighed. "Nice dinner?" He pushed himself onto his feet, randomly realizing how much smaller she was than him.
"Yeah, it's a really fancy place. I have to shower and go out, again. But I'm not sure how I'm going to scrape up the rest of the cash…" She muttered rubbing her face. "I'll text you when I'm on my way back so you can start getting ready." She muttered.
"Okay." He paused for a moment. "What're you getting?"
"A second dress, the one I have is overly formal. I need something simpler, but still nice." She mumbled looking up at him. "Why do you ask?"
"Do you have anything in mind?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. "Because I know of some dresses that are both cheep and expensive-looking."
"I didn't have anything in mind, not really." She replied leaning her back against the wall. "Where are these "Cheap" yet "expensive looking" dresses you speak of?" She asked doing air quotes.
He rolled his eyes almost playfully. Almost. "At the nearest clothing store. Look for the brand called Marvin's. Always works."
"You're positive?" She asked crossing her arms, she was so close to believing him. Something was making her doubt him though. Something eating any trust away. "I don't want to spend hours looking for something that doesn't exist."
"Well, you can choose to believe me, or to not. Doesn't matter to me." He shrugged, moving to his room. "I'm going to get at least semi-prepared."
Joanna pushed herself off the wall. "Fine, I'll see you in a bit then." She shrugged, slipping into her bedroom to shower and get herself ready for the evening to come.
He rolled his eyes and scowled before moving over to his bags, closing the door. He picked out a nice shirt and pants, wishing that his suit had arrived. Sighing, he started to change. He put on a tie, too, although he wasn't sure why. Maybe he just wanted to make a good first impression.
(I haven't yet, but do we wanna do a skippp?))
Joanna locked her bedroom door, and dropped her towel aside. "So cold in here!" She squeaked rubbing her bare arms as the air conditioning hit her.
(Sure! You want to start, or should I?)
(I will, just so it makes things easier lol))
Joanna smiled at the dress in her bag, and at the recite in her hands. "Dang it… he was right…" She laughed lightly tucking the recite in her bag. She slid her phone from her pocket and unlocked it, opening up her messages app. Done getting a dress, the price was great, and I'm headed back now.
(Okay, thanks!)
His phone chimed, and he glanced down before snorting. Told you so, he sent back, grinning, although he didn't know why. He sat on the couch again, rolling through pictures on the internet, bored out of his mind.
Told you so,
She rolled her eyes, and sighed. "Oh whatever." She smirked some, sliding her phone in her pocket, "Alright, off to the hotel!" She chirped to herself walking off. "Oh shoot!" She thought of something, pulling her phone back out.
How are we going to get there?
Arsen hadn't actually considered that. Dunno, he texted back after a moment. You want to impress her, or blow her mind?
Joanna was surprised at the response. 'What on earth is he thinking?' She asked herself, her fingers typing a response.
What the heck? What do you mean?
I'm not poor, ya know, he answered. I did inheirate everything from one of the richest men in the country. Do you want a nice car, or a great car, for the evening?
She bit her lip, weighing her options. Tonight would be the night to have a great car, we need to keep a low profile at the party. She sent back in a reply as she pushed through the spinning door on the front of the hotel. So, we'll go with a great car tonight. She smirked coming to the elevator.
Fine. He sighed dramatically, even though she couldn't hear him, and phoned a company, going to get a car for the evening.
She looked at his dry response and chuckled lightly. "Such eloquent wording." She hummed watching the lights flash by.
Arsen went to wait for her in the main room. He sat on the couch. He had just gotten word that the car was waiting in the parking lot, and so he couldn't wait to go.
Joanna pushed the door open, and jumped a bit at seeing him. "Oh- hey." She greeted shutting the door with her heel.
(Sorry 'bout not responding right away! Again.)
"Hey." He nodded his head in brief greeting. "The car is here. You ready to go?"
(It’s ok! I’ve noticed you haven’t really been online lol)
“Let me change into the dress, then I’ll be ready.” Joanna responded with a light smile. She quickly ran to her room shutting the door.
(Thanks… I feel so bad… but my internet has had problems, and it sucks!)
"Good." He stood and stretched, carefully straightening his tie, and waited for her.
(Again, it's OK. My internet has been sketchy before )
She quickly changed, and walked out of her room. Her hair was curled, and she had a ton of makeup up on. But she was trying to fit in. She smoothed her dress down, and cleared her throat. "Ready?"
"Yep." He eyed her makeup before shrugging. It was fine. She would blend in. He jerked his head at the door. "Let's go."
“Let’s, and get this night over so we don’t have to do this ever again.” She muttered sharply adjusting The strap of her heel.
