Wilhelm dropped his bag on his bed, groaning in exasperation as he loosened his tie and pulled off his jumper. He ran his fingers through his hair, sitting down on the edge of his bed and digging around in his bag for a book.
Wilhelm dropped his bag on his bed, groaning in exasperation as he loosened his tie and pulled off his jumper. He ran his fingers through his hair, sitting down on the edge of his bed and digging around in his bag for a book.
Connor had headed to the library, to return his book, which he had somehow already finished. He was a fast reader, though, so perhaps that explained it. He was currently scanning the shelves for a new one.
Wilhelm fell asleep within the hour, thoroughly exhausted by the day’s work. His book was open-faced on top of his chest, as if he had fallen asleep while reading and dropped it. Wilhelm’s jumper was now being used like a makeshift blanket, draped over him the best that it could be.
(is this before or after dinner?)
Connor kept looking through the library, occasionally pulling down books, flipping trhough them, then putting them back.
(i’m gonna say before!)
Wilhelm woke up after a few minutes, blinking the sleep out of his eyes. He sat up, running his fingers through his hair. The book and the sweater fell down, which startled Wilhelm enough to make him yelp quietly.
(kk)
Connor got a book and came back to the dorm, letting himself in and flopping onto the bed on his stomach, already opening up the book.
Wilhelm was hunched over, sitting cross-legged on his bed. He was doing homework, apparently, as evidenced by the papers and textbooks strewn around him on his bed.
Connor glanced over at him, and rolled into his back, nearly falling off the bed. He let out a soft sound of alarm when he nearly fell, and squirmed back onto the bed.
Wilhelm laughed slightly, looking over at Connor with raised eyebrows. “Are you okay? You fell?” He fiddled with his pen, a small smile on his lips.
Connor wrinkled his nose, looking at Wilhelm. "Ah almost fell. That's different. But yes, ah'm fine." He replied.
“Well, at least you didn’t actually fall. Is that a new book?” Wilhelm pointed to the book Connor was reading, head cocked.
Connor nodded. "Yes, and yes." He replied with a faint smile. "I finished my other one, an' ah wanted another one ta read."
Wilhelm raised his eyebrows. “Wow, you finished that quick. You’re a fast reader, huh?” He scribbled down a few more things, tapping his pen against his forehead.
"Yeah." Connor replied. "Tha's why ah'm better at English than at Maths." He chuckled softly, running a hand through his hair and shaking his head a little.
“Well, that makes one of us.” Wilhelm laughed, turning back to his homework. He was nearly done at this point, only a few questions left to go.
Connor chuckled. "Mm. Right, sorry." He apologized, remembering how worried Wilhelm had been about English earlier. He closed his book, getting out his own homework.
“What’re you sorry for?” Wilhelm stretched, running his fingers through his hair quickly and scribbling out a sentence or two. “You didn’t say anything wrong.”
Connor shrugged a little bit. "Alright." He replied, working on his homework quietly. He chewed on the end of his pencil a little, considering one of the questions on his homework.
Wilhelm went quiet, continuing to write. After a moment or two, he set the paper in a textbook, shutting it inside and beginning to work on another piece. The boy had intense concentration while he wrote, barely ever looking up or getting sidetracked.
Connor continued to work quietly. He rubbed his face with a hand, mind drifting to Jamie for a moment. He swallowed hard, pushing away the memories.
Wilhelm shut his textbooks, dropping them into his bag. He stood, trying to stretch before going to watch the darkening scenery outside the window, the shadowed silhouettes of trees and greenery like beasts against the sunset.
Connor shifted, uncrossing his legs to dangle them off the bed, still working on his homework and trying to push away memories of Jamie.
Wilhelm checked his watch, not really moving from his spot in front of the large window. Rain poured down, drenching the outside earth. Wilhelm bit his tongue for a split second, hands now behind his neck.
Connor glanced up for a moment. That would be an interesting painting… He cleared his throat softly, forcing his eyes back onto his homework.
“The garden’ll love all this rain, I’ll tell you what.” Wilhelm rocked on his heels, keeping his hands where they were. He stepped back from the window, rubbing his eyes.
Connor blinked, looking over at him again. "Ah bet they will." he replied, running a hand through his hair.
“Hopefully it isn’t too much for them.” Wilhelm thought for a moment, looking over at Connor. “Shouldn’t be. How’s your homework going? I assume that’s what you’re doing, yeah?”
Connor nodded a little. "Yeah, homework. And it's going fine." he replied.
Wilhelm nodded, looking back out the window. “That’s good, that’s good.” He loosened his necktie again, finally giving up and just taking it off, tossing it onto his bed behind him.
Connor watched Wilhelm for a minute. "Yer incapable o' holdin' still, aren't yeh?" he asked, not with any hint of meanness or cruelty in his tone, just curiosity.
