@gracehustle

She shrugged, still not looking at him as she answered, "Well..yeah, that did scare me. It's alright though, you're fine, It just shocked me." As long as he didn't make a habit of having his eyes turn black, she wouldn't be too scared, most likely it was a side effect of whatever powers he had. That was something that everyone knew, that they all had powers.

"A few more minutes, then we'll be there," She replied, letting them sit in silence for a few seconds before turning her radio on and listening to whatever country song was playing. At this point she wasn't really listening to the words, just driving and trying to guess what Oscar's powers were.

@gracehustle

Honor didn't know how to properly explain a radio, but she did try her best to answer his questions, "That's someone singing, I'm not sure what singer it is specifically, but they sing songs. Do you know what those are?"

"Songs are something to do with music, right?" Oscar replied vaguely. "I learned about that in the dictionary, but I didn't really understand the point of it. Do people just make sngs because they sound nice, or is there more to it?"
(gtg for a bit, seeya)

@gracehustle

(See ya!)
"Yes, songs have to do with music, and no, people don't just make songs because they sound nice," She explained, turning into the parking lot of the store and driving around while looking for a parking spot, "There are tons of reasons why people make songs. They want to, or it means something to them. It could tell a story, or yes, they could make it just to make something that sounds nice."

@gracehustle

Honor shook her head, then paused and shrugged, "No..well, now yes, most songs are based off of love or relationships, they used to sing about other things to, like the land or stories from the singers childhood. Those songs have faded away more often than not though, with love songs becoming popular."

@gracehustle

"Yes, this is the place with the shoes," She replied, smiling and shutting off her car. They were outside a small but busy mall a few towns over, where there were shoe places that he could try on several pairs and decide between.

Oscar nodded and hopped out of the car, scanning the sunny parking lot with interest. "There are so many other cars here. And people everywhere." He paused. "Most of them will ignore us, right? We won't have to talk to very many of them or be close to them?"

@gracehustle

Honor locked her car behind herself as they got out, starting towards the building with him at her side, "Most of them will ignore us yes, and no we won't have to talk to almost any of them, but they will be walking around around us, so don't be scared. I'll be with you the whole time."

@gracehustle

"No, I'm not," She replied, shaking her head while she led him into the mall, "Tell me if you start to get overwhelmed by the amount of people."

(I gotta head to bed but I'll drop this here before I go)
"I will." Oscar followed her and immediately started looking every which way as he tried to take in all the sights and sounds inside the building. For the most part he seemed to be handling the commotion okay, although he seemed much more distracted and vigilant now. "Um….I'll follow you."

@gracehustle

(oke! Goodnight!)
She nodded and immediately started watching out for Oscar wandering off at all as she led him through the people and to the shoe store. This wasn't a giant mall, with only one story of shops, but it still got heavy use, which was clear from the amount of people in the mall walking around.

Oscar did his best to keep the busy environment from getting to him, and after a few minutes he discovered that he could keep himself feeling grounded by reading the various signs and posters as they passed them. "All this isn't just for shoes, is it? It seems like there's a lot of other stuff here."

@gracehustle

"No, there's lots of stores in here, only a few that sell shoes though." Honor pointed to the shoe store she was leading him too, "That's where we're going, to pick a good pair of shoes out for you. After we find out what size shoe you wear."

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

"Oh, okay." Oscar seemed relieved to hear that the task was fairly straightforward, and stepped boldly into the shoe store. "How do we find out my shoe size?"

(Me: scrambling to search up average men's shoe sizes lol)
(Edit: He's a size nine I guess XD)

@gracehustle

(lol XD I would've guessed around there, maybe a ten so that works)
She just motioned for him to follow her after offering a bright smile to the store employees, leading him to the mens section and tapping one of the multiple metal foot measuring devices that seemed to migrate around the store like birds. "Take off your shoes and put your heel against the back metal piece of that, it'll tell us what size shoe you need."

@gracehustle

"I'd suggest a running shoe, something you can wear that will last you," She said, leading him to the variety of running shoes and trying to ignore the price labels below them, "Whatever color or style you want, just make sure they fit and feel nice."

Oscar studied the shoes with more than a little excitement–he'd never actually picked out something for himself from a store before. Grabbing a pair in the correct size, he turned them over in his hands before glancing at Honor. "I can try them on without having to keep them, right? As many times as I want?"

@gracehustle

Honor nodded, smiling at his excitement and leaning against the rows of shoes lightly, "Yes, you can try as many on as you want as many times as you want until you find a pair you like. Then we'll get those ones."

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

"Good." Oscar smiled and shuffled over to a nearby stepstool so he could sit while changing footwear. For the next few minutes, he went through several dozen pairs of shoes, discarding each one until finally he settled on some fairly cheap sneakers with brightly colored laces and accents. Some might have called them garish, but Oscar seemed quite pleased with how they looked. "Can I get these, Honor?"

@gracehustle

While he was trying on shoes, she was careful to put the shoes he didn't want back, keeping the space clear of shoes. She nodded when he settled on a pair, checking the price and holding out the box to him, "Sure, let's go pay for them, then you can wear them if you want."

@gracehustle

"I have to give the store money in exchange for the shoes, like trading but with money," She tried to explain, starting to walk to the counter while digging through her purse for her wallet.
