Aliana was trying her best not to start crying, but it was difficult. God, the nightmare had shaken her up badly.
Aliana was trying her best not to start crying, but it was difficult. God, the nightmare had shaken her up badly.
Hatta held her, rubbing her back gently. "Are you alright?"
Aliana felt the first tear slip down, "I, no. No, I don't think so."
Hatta nodded. "Okay, well…what can I do to help?"
"Just," Aliana took a shaky breath in and out, "Just keep doing what you're doing. Thank you."
Hatta nodded, and kept rubbing her back gently. "Alright." He replied.
It took a few minutes of silence, but eventually, Aliana calmed down. The first word out of her mouth after the silence was, "I'm sorry."
Hatta raised an eyebrow. "For what?" He asked. "You don't have anything to be sorry for."
"For being a mess," Aliana responded her voice soft and filled with a pang of unneeded guilt, "And a deadweight and having so many problems and not being able to control myself and I have so many things to be sorry for."
Hatta shook his head. "You don't have anything to apologise for, Aliana." He replied. "Really."
Aliana looked up at him, "But, but I do. You, you, you have to be mad or annoyed or something."
Hatta shrugged. "I'm not mad." He replied. "Why would I be?"
"Becuase I'm a bother, an annoyance, and a pain," Aliana whispered, "I don't know why you haven't abandoned me like everyone else has."
Hatta shook his head. "You aren't." He replied with a soft laugh.
"You promise?" Aliana looked up at him not believing him for one moment.
Hatta nodded. "Yeah. I promise."
Aliana still didn't believe him but gave him a smile anyway before burying her head aginst him again, "Okay."
Hatta smiled lightly, holding her. "Mm." he replied softly.
Aliana hummed a little as her eyes started to close again, "Can, can we stay like this for the night?"
Hatta nodded. "Yeah. If you want to, we can." He replied softly.
"I, I would like that," Aliana admitted. She didn't want to move risk losing him again.
Hatta nodded. "Alright." He yawned softly, covering his mouth with a hand.
Aliana looked up at Hatta keeping her eyes open, "Do, do you want to move onto the bed rather than stand?"
Hatta nodded, sitting down on the bed tiredly. "Mhm."
Aliana giggled a little and leaned back against Hatta, "Okay."
Hatta held her gently. He smiled lightly.
Aliana yawned as she unknowingly nuzzled up against Hatta the sleep starting to take her consciousness once more. He was just so warm and nice.
Hatta held her gently, smiling a little bit.
Aliana went limp in his arms as she fell asleep once more.
Hatta eventually lay down, holding Aliana gently.
