(We're in a lockdown drill, and I dont like it.)
Marco let himself collapse by a dumpster, crying softly as he thought about what he had done.
(It'll be okay…hugs I'm here)
He wrote words that came out shakey. "Please, come back!"
(It went fine, but literally no one takes it seriously and I'm like, what happens when something ACTUALLY happens.)
Marco didn't see them, his arms covered by his sleeves, and his vision clouded by tears.
(Yeah, no I take lockdowns seriously or even fire drills. I hate them all!)
He threw the marker against the car and right now he wanted to smash anything to pieces. He wanted to smash himself into pieces. "How could he leave me….What did I do?" he stood up and walked to his car as if he was brainless. He drove home and walked in the door to see his mom there. Levi cried harder and ran into her arms.
(Me too!)
Levi really hadn't done anything wrong, but Marco had found the whole situation to be too much for him. Too much pressure, too fast, just… overwhelming.
“I know I did something!” He yelled. “I always do something! It’s always wrong!” He voice cracker and he tried to wipe his tears. Levi looked at his arm for a response, but got nothing.
Marco shivered wher he was, feeling more worthless than he ever had in his life. Ever.
He pulled away from his mom and went to his room. “Answer!” He wrote it on his hand.
Marco saw something appear on his hand, and pushed himself up against the wall in an attempt to orient himself.
His back started to hurt a little bit. “Are you getting beat up again?!” He wrote.
Marco could barely read it, and he realized tearfully that he had no way to reply, nothing to write with, his only pen having been lost the day before…. That seemed to be the last straw as he broke down again into blinding tears and wracking sobs.
“I’m done for. That’s it. I lost him forever. I didn’t even get to know him. It’s been a day. Now, I’ll never see him again. Unless he just remembers our address. I can’t write it because the universe won’t allow it. Now what am I supposed to do. My life is meaningless now that he doesn’t love me back or even like me for that matter. He doesn’t even want to be around me. He even said he doesn’t care about my feelings. I don’t even have his trust!” He yelled into his bed sheets.
Marco cried against the wall of the alley, pulling his knees to his chest. The one thing he'd been waiting to have happen all his life…. he'd blown it. He couldn't handle it and he'd blown it.
Levi ended up laying down and thinking about what happened. His chest started ti hurt and grabbed his roughly hopping it would stop. It wouldn't. He wasn't allowed to have a brake. He wasn't allowed to have a soulmate. Levi whimpered in pain and shut his eyes. "I hate you Marco….so much…" then he fell asleep, squirming even in his nightmares.
Marco whimpered when the pain started, unable to stop crying, much less get any sleep as he instead forced himself to his feet, knowing that staying there was likely to get him beat up again and the least he could do was avoid that. Getting shakily to his feet he began walking, his vision still blurred by tears as he wandered the city, wanting nothing more than to collapse someplace warm and safe and never wake up again.
Levi woke up in the middle of the night in cold sweat. He sat up and rubbed his face. He sat there for a moment before rushing out of bed. "I can do this!" he whispered before slipping on his shoes and ran around the city looking for Marco.
Marco was walking along a dim street, shivering slightly as he walked, his feet aching for a break as it was already past midnight.
"Marco!" he yelled looking in alleyways and places where he would get food. "Marco!" He tried looking on dark streets next. "Marco!"
Marco found himself wandering into a park, shivering quietly in the chill of the night. He couldn't feel his fingers and toes anymore as he walked.
"Marco!" he yelled walking into a park. "Marco!" he yelled over and over again.
Marco had stopped in a forested area, leaning against a tree as he tried to stay awake, completely exhausted from the day. He thought he heard his name being called, but he didn't answer…
He ran to the swing set and called his name and ended up sitting down. "He leaned on the chain of the swing and sighed. "Marco! Where are you! It's the middle of the night! I have school tomorrow too! Will you please come back Marco!"
Marco just barely heard him, but something in him told his exhausted self that he could trust that voice as he pushed himself off the tree, stumbling towards him.
"Marco!" he stood up seeing a figure coming towards him. He ran over and hugged him. "I thought something bad happened to you because I woke up and I didn't feel right, so I came to find you and then I couldn't so I got frustrated and it turns out you came to me and…god I'm so happy!"
Marco barely understood him, pulling away with an exhausted whimper at the yelling, too tired to understand that it was excitement and relief, and not anger.
"S-Sorry, for yelling I was just really worried and now I'm happy. Come on I'll bring you back to mine so you can get cleaned up okay?" Levi took his hand and walked with him.
Marco nodded tiredly at the apology, to tired to fight him or really pay attention as the other started pulling him off back to his place, stumbling alongside him exhaustedly.
