“Me too,” she whispered kissing her on the cheek. She hugged her back.

“So do we just wait now to see whether my dad comes to his senses or not?” Aurelie asked.

“I guess so…we don’t want to run and then find out that he was fine with it,” she said smiling softly.

Aurelie laughed shakily. "Yeah…" She disentangled herself from Cat and sat down on the edge of the bed, patting the spot next to her. "So now we wait."

Cat sat down next to her placing her head on her shoulder. She held her hand playing with her ring. "Should we try to find Eli?"

“That might be a good idea,” Aurelie agreed. “He’s always been a great friend, and if he can help us, he will.”

Cat nodded in agreement. "Plus I need someone to brag to," She joked kissing her on the cheek before standing up.

Aurelie smirked. “He will be pretty hyped,” she said, getting up as well. She held onto Cat’s hand.

Cat gripped her hand smiling. She walked towards the door.

Aurelie led Cat around, searching for Eli. Thankfully, there were a lot less men walking around in the castle now.

Cat glanced around at everyone holding Aurelie's hand tight.

Aurelie couldn’t seem to find Eli anywhere. “Where do you think he went?” she asked Cat.

Cat shrugged. "All the guards are probably busy kicking out all of the lingering men," she teased looking at Aurelie.

Aurelie giggled, rolling her eyes. “Don’t remind me. At least I was unconscious for that,” she quipped.

Cat nodded. "Yeah you're lucky. Most of them weren't very attractive and I think Eli almost beat one because he stayed too long," She giggled.

“Now that is something I would want to see,” she joked with a chuckle. “He’s such a good friend to me, he’s practically my brother.”

Cat nodded “.yeah he said something like that while we were in line.”

“I think I see him!” Aurelie chirped, seeing a familiar-looking head of curly hair.

Cat turned to where she was looking with I large smile. Holding Aurelie's hand tight.

Aurelie led Cat over to where she had spotted Eli, smiling. Once people realized that she was the princess, they began to let her pass with stares and lots of muted whispers. Eli turned to see them with a grin. He instantly hugged both of them. “I knew you could do it,” he added to Cat.

Cat smiled and nodded. “Thanks I wish I had that level confidence,” she said leaning slightly on Aurelie.

“Do you want to tell him, or should I?” Aurelie asked Cat quietly. Eli raised his eyebrows.

“Keeping secrets, are we?” he teased.

Cat smirked and looked at Aurelie. “You should tell him,” she whispered.

Aurelie nodded, unable to keep the smile from her face. “Cat proposed! And I said yes!” Aurelie squealed, positively beaming. Eli grinned.

“I’m so happy for you two!” he cried, hugging them both at once.

Cat hesitated and froze slightly but then hugged him back. After the hug she looked back at Aurelie and then Eli. “Thanks! I was really nervous she’d say no!”

Aurelie’s lips parted slightly at the admission, but Eli just chuckled. “Yeah, but you were brave,” he said.

Cat smiled and nodded bringing Aurelie’s hand up to kiss over her ring. “So has the king ordered for my arrest yet,” she half joked letting out a nervous laugh.

“I haven’t heard from him,” Eli admitted. “No one has. He must still be stewing over the fact that Aurelie was woken up by a girl.”

“He’ll come around eventually,” Aurelie added, hopeful but not quite believing her words.

“Yeah,” cat said hiding her nerves behind a smile. She rests her head on Aurelie’s shoulder.

Aurelie smiled nervously as well. “Would it help if I look for him?” Eli asked.
