Aliana looked at them warrily as they looked at her.
Aliana looked at them warrily as they looked at her.
"We could take her years…" One suggested.
"We have many years already."
"Or we could take her looks."
Aliana inhaled slightly as they started to debate what they could take. Years, fine she wasn't expecting to live a long life anyway. Looks, okay she didn't think she had that much beauty anyway. If anything she thought herself ugly, but it would still be a blow to have that taken.
"Confidence?"
"Intelligence?"
"Memories?"
Hatta frowned.
Aliana felt her breathing speed up slightly. Each one of those sounded worse than the other. Confidence she didn't have much of, but she valued what little she had. Intelligence was the one part of her she enjoyed and liked. But memories, that was the worst of them al. She didn't want to forget anything. It was all so precious to her.
The girls looked at her, then each other, silent now as they deliberated.
Hatta clenched his jaw for a moment.
Aliana took a breath and looked to Hatta before back at the girls. He was more important than her own traits. The world needed Hatta, it did not need Aliana.
Hatta looked at her. "You don't need to do this." He said softly.
Aliana looked back at Hatta, "But I do. It's you loose your control or I loose something. And the world needs an in control you more than it needs any part of me."
Hatta shrugged. "They wouldn't take all my control. Just some." He replied, running a hand through his hair.
"And you need all of your control at this point," Aliana responded softly.
Hatta shrugged, picking at his shirt a little bit. "Yeah, maybe. I could survive without it." He replied, shaking his head a little.
"I-" Aliana took a breath, "Maybe, but that's too big of a risk isn't it?"
He shrugged again, looking at her. "Maybe."
Aliana looked at Hatta with a sad look. She figured almost knew it was too big. In her head better safe than sorry. She looked back at the girls, "Have you decided what you want?"
(which one? She's your character, so your choice?)
The girls nodded a little, looking at her.
(Okay, ummmmmmmm. Confidence or intelligence your choice.)
Aliana gave them a nod back and waited for the blow.
(Sorry, I'm indecisive at times. And this just happened to be one of them.)
(confidence then lmao)
"Confidence. Not all, just some."
"A pinch, really."
(it's fine)
(Thanks)
Aliana took a breath and let it out. It was just a little bit of what confidence she had. She could lose that, but might as well use it up while she had it, "Okay. I'll make the wish for the location of the guardian."
(np)
The girls nodded. "Come to the well, girl." they replied, leading them over.
Aliana took another deep breath and stepped towards the well. She was ready to do this, at least she thought so, "What now?"
"Throw it in and make a wish." they replied.
Aliana didn't understand what they meant by throwing it in. She reached for a small piece of her confidence, the little part she was using to keep herself where she was without freaking out and threw it into the well. At least she hoped she did. She didn't know if she should say it aloud, but did anyway, "I wish to know the current location of the original guardian of the Vorpal Sword. Um, please."
The girls smiled, and there was a faint but audible plop as the confidence hit the water. "Of course."
Aliana felt a little deflated and more scared than earlier. She could feel the confidence missing from her and took a shaky breath before looking back at the girls and Hatta the new uncertainty of her choice now setting in, "Right. So the location?"
The girls named the location. "You'll have to get there on your own."
Hatta nodded. "Alright. Thanks."
"Thank you," Aliana gave a nod as well. She glanced at Hatta hoping he wasn't mad with her for her actions. Her voice was soft, "Ready to go?"
Hatta nodded. "Yeah. Come on." He said softly. He led Aliana back to the stone center.
Aliana followed after him her head hung sightly. She didn't know if she made the right choice, but at the same time, it was the only one to be made. Who knew taking away such little confidence would reduce her to this. Or maybe it was only temporary.
Hatta was quiet as they walked, hands in his pockets..
