“Mom? No, not really. Gems don’t really have families. We aren’t made like organics, but, I guess our Diamond’s count…” Tiger answered, smelling the lily peacefully. “They did create us all…”

Jake smiled. "well then isn't there some type of higher person like mom or dad?
(yo imma head to bed)

She nodded, “Uh-huh, like I said, the Diamonds are the closest thing we have to parents.”

Jake then looked down. " interesting, well i hope you really enjoyed that flower. " he patted her head lightly. "I'm gonna go get some food."

Tiger smiled, looking up at him with a somewhat bittersweet look in her eyes.
“I do enjoy it, it’s beautiful…”

Jake smiled at that then left the Med- Bay to get some food. ugh..i feel like crap..

Tiger waited, staring at the lily as she thought, her expression turning dull.

Ember coughed back awake a short time later and the Pendant around her neck flickered then glowed steadily

Tiger looked at Ember with an uncertain face, standing up. She said nothing as she left, leaving the lily in her place.

Ember sat up and put her face in her hands and sighed heavily "I…I couldn't do it…I didn't protect them." Ember muttered to herself, ashamed.

Mallory looked at her and frowned. "Ember…"

"…what?" the eldest founder asked avoiding eye contact.

"It isn't your fault." She said softly.

"He threw me aside like it was nothing…if he wanted us dead…we would be…and I'm suppose to be the one to protect you all!" visibly upset as she spoke the last part

Jake heard yelling back in the Med-Bay and ran back, with chocolate on his face. " whoa…hey…it's okay. Ember you did what you had to, it was an unexpected attack." Jake said calmly.

She turned away "yeah…but this is my one job and I fucked it up…you both could have died…the moment Tempest leaves everything goes to shit."

Jake walked over to Ember. " i would've been fine, those creatures are nothing compared to me."

The lily drooped sadly, laying in the spot where Tiger used to be. For some reason, she seemed to have ran off somewhere.

"I…I just need some time…" Ember sniffled a bit and stood, wincing a bit from the bandaged up wounds and starting to walk out

"Woah, slow down. You need to rest." Mallory said taking her arm and pulling her back.

"I don't need to-" she took a breath and nodded "You're right…" she looked to Mal and hugged her. Ember took care of Tempest, made sure she was alright after his lover's death…but failed to realize that she didn't have anyone to look after her, causing her to try to distract herself by acting protector to all in Haven…she's just one person though.

"Of course I am. You will be fine. Tempest should be back soon, we should be safe until then." Mallory reassured.

Ember soon lie back down in one of the med bay beds, pulling the covers up and attempted to sleep to no avail.

"You need anything before I go?" Mallory asked softly.
