Kye had slipped carefully back into the shadows hearing Chris come back. Hoping that the knight had not seen him. He was usually more careful about not letting people get that close to finding him. He knew that because he was in the shadows and Chris was not, he had a better chance of Chris not seeing him.
If he sees you and attacks you I am finding a new host.
Sure you will.
The brothers tried to move away from the figure but they both couldn’t move a limb at that moment.
”What’s wrong…?” the figure asked quite threateningly before a black cloud of smoke surrounded the two foxes, causing them to fall into a fainted state. The cloaked figure smiled a bit as they set foot towards Kasai.
Chris noticed Kye clearly, he turned towards the visitor after all. But it did not seem like he cared much about the visitor being there. He ran towards the figure on the bed.
The scientist leaned closer to the figure.
”Do you remember who you are?” the scientist asked as the man on the bed nodded softly and answered with the words.
”Sebastian Autumn, protector of the Dimensional Travelers… host of former Knight, Vincent Dylan’s soul shard…” the man on the bed answered as the scientist nodded satisfyingly at the results.
Hinata turned in a flash, sword drawn as she put herself between the brothers and the lunatic.
"Don't fucking touch them."
”Oh, are we going that route?” the cloaked figure asked hysterically as he moved the blade to the side with ease using his index.
”Don’t worry—“ the figure rolled up their sleeves ”—I’ll make it quick…” they said as they reached down to touch Kasai.
(Stab the figure’s throat?)
(Stab the figure’s chest?)
(Stab the figure’s stomach?)
[Special Option]
(Stab the figure’s head)
Hinata growled, not going to do this without a fight. She swung back, slashing out as to decapitate the cloaked figure.
"Not if I can help it!"
She shrugged. "Okay. But seriously, why do people care abo…" she trailed off, tilting her head. She heard the faint sounds of fighting, then shrugged. "Nevermind. Let's go."
The figure grabbed the blade that Hinata held quite easily. He looked Hinata in the eyes.
”You sure about that…?” the man attempted to break the blade he was holding and it did look like he was going to succeed…
A blue energy-created dragon head rushed the cloaked figure’s hand that was holding Hinata’s blade and… snapped it off. The cloaked figure turned towards where the dragon had came from. Hinata would now be on the floor due to the impact from the dragon head.
”Who’s there…?” a black substance originated from the cut that was made and the figure’s hand regenerated. They looked into the darkness and almost immediately ran in the other direction when ten of the dragon heads from earlier rushed them. With that, the cloaked escapist ran away from the scene.
Sounds of polite and graceful footsteps came from where the dragons were sent from.
”Are you alright?” a blue-eyed, black-haired man asked as he extended his hand to help Hinata up. He had sand-like skin tone which looked quite healthy. He was wearing a white t-shirt, a pair of training pants… and dark brown slippers. He looked quite relaxed for whatever his job was.
Matthew did not question why she wanted to head inside the building as soon as possible. He wanted to as well. With that, he stood in front of the building’s main entrance and opened the doors for Adara.
Inside, nothing was out of the ordinary just yet though the place was, at that time, awfully quiet.
Hinata would have been on the floor anyway, from the strain in her body from the man nearly breaking her Companion Soul. Her eyes were squeezed shut, and she was taking deep breaths in an attempt to gain enough control over her body to ease the pain.
"I will be," she mumbled, eyes opening slightly so she could reach up and clasp the man's hand to pull herself up onto shaky legs.
The next hallway Jade would find was one with several ten corpses laying around with some sort of string tied to them.
They looked like they were decapitated then tied back together with those strings.
Jade's mouth fell open as she saw the bodies her horror must have been apparent but she hoped not as she tried to use a stealth spell and walk through the hall of bodies holding her nose but knowing it would fail in the end to try
The man who helped Hinata up saw her actions and instinctively swept her off her feet, carrying her like a princess.
”Whether you like it or not, I’m taking you to the doctor. As for now, restrain from moving, that’ll hurt you on the long run” he said as two small blue dragons came up from the ground and helped carry the foxes. The man then started towards the backdoor exit.
As Jade would walk through the hallway, a loud and sinister laugh came from somewhere above her as some strings attacked her, attempting to slice off parts of her skin and to tie her up like the corpses on the floor.
Jade tried not to scream or show fear as she was attacked and attempted to use a defensive spell against her assailant "custodire et defendere agaisnt ignotum malum hoc" to protect and defend agaisnt this unknown evil and tried to remove the strings
Kye cursed himself silently for letting himself be found, but stepped out of the shadows to stand a little behind Chris. "Who is this?" his voice was calm sounding, but very quiet.
Hinata let out a sound of disapproval, looking up at the man with one eyebrow raised.
"This is highly unnecessary," she said, crossing her arms. "I can handle myself. Besides, I'm not the one who needs medical attention, and I don't trust anyone else to help with the one who does."
The spell worked but that did not stop the Knight’s trial. Some other strings rushed Jade, now from different directions and now extremely hard to avoid.
”This is Sebastian, he used to be a dead man but as you can see… we managed to save him by installing a mechanism inside him” the scientist said as the man on the bed turned to Kye.
”Sebastian Autumn, pleasure to meet you” he said with a small bow.
The man carrying Hinata looked down at her with a warm smile and closed eyes.
”C’mon, don’t act so unnecessarily strong— Balance Keeper” the man said as they left through the backdoor and headed towards the hospital.
”Now that I said it, why are you here actually?”
Hinata didn't care that this man knew she was the Balance Keeper, rolling her eyes a bit.
"I got shoved through a portal by a time manipulator named Cronos. I've just been kinda rolling with it."
”Ah, that man. He’s a great man once you get to know him actually though I highly doubt you want to meet him any time soon, right?” the man asked as he paced gradually towards the hospital. The foxes’ bodies were still following the man. The dragons that held them up were quite strong for their size.
"I honestly don't care either way. So long as he doesn't shove me through any more random portals." Hinata chuckled, shifting a bit.
"But seriously, could you please put me down?"
”If you are completely sure that you can walk on your own, then sure. But you’ve got to promise me that first” the man said with a small, friendly chuckle as he continued. All this time has passed, and the man still hasn’t introduced himself.
"I am completely and utterly sure I can walk on my own," Hinata said. Most of the pain had receded by now, and all she really needed right now was a snack.
"And you still haven't introduced yourself. You know you I am, but I don't know who you are."
The man nodded, knelt down a bit and let Hinata stand on her own.
”My name is Ichika Kyoshun, former Knight of the Labyrinth and currently working as a Multiversal bounty hunter—” the man introduced with a small bow ”—in other words, I’m working across dimensions so you might have seen pictures of me in taverns where hunters would gather” he shrugged, hoping what he had said was true to some degree.
Hinata slipped out of Ichika's arms, having no trouble standing now. She nodded in response, thinking for a moment as to what Ichika had said.
"I have seen pictures," she noted. Of course, she was usually drunk by the time she got around to actually looking around taverns, so the memories were fuzzy at best.
Ichika nodded with a small grin and started walking again. He looked like a friendly person from his every action so far but there was no way Hinata could know what he’s thinking exactly. He looked down at his right wrist as a blue aura cloud surrounded it, giving it an ominous look.
Hinata followed, mostly because Ichika's dragons still had Kori and Kasai. She didn't like that she was just blindly following this man, but she figured that there weren't any bounties on her. Then again… it wouldn't surprise her.
”This is Sebastian, he used to be a dead man but as you can see… we managed to save him by installing a mechanism inside him” the scientist said as the man on the bed turned to Kye.
”Sebastian Autumn, pleasure to meet you” he said with a small bow.
Kye nodded, breathing out a silent sigh of relief that Chris was cool with him being here. He looked to the person and gave a polite bow in return. "My name is Kye Gathrodir. The pleasure is all mine," he said.
The man soon took her into the hospital and before she would know it, Hinata would find herself in a clean patient's room. The foxes were on beds, separate ones. Soon, a familiar doctor would step into the room.
"Hello again–" Cassius said as he flipped through the documents he'd been given "–can you explain to me roughly of what happened?"
Chris was fine with the interaction but he had to turn to Kye.
"I'm sure this is gonna be obvious, but you followed me because of the bloody knife I had on me, right?" the scientist asked with a tilted head.
Due to the scientist's quick and mumbled accent, the mechanized man on the bed seemed a bit confused like he did not fully understand what Chris had just said.
Kye thought quick and shook his head. "No, the door is locked, so I came to find you again…. And then I saw the knife and got curious," Kye explained. "Ordinarily the sight of the knife would have told me that it was time to go, but seeing as how you have been nothing but kind to me, I figured you had a reason."
"O-Oh… I forgot to unlock the door for you then. My apologies" the scientist said in a soft tone before turning to the man on the bed.
"Would it be fine I went to unlock the door for you then disappear for an hour or two… I need to run some tests" the scientist asked, putting his hands in his lab coat's pockets.
