Ender glanced over at Venus and noticed she was crying. He put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey," He started. "It'll be okay." He was BAD at this.

Without thinking, Venus broke down. She sobbed loudly, wiping her face with the paint soaked towels, making her tanned cheeks patterned with splotches of red, black, green, brown, and white.

Blaine looked up at the sound of Venus crying. She noticed that Ender was already there, so she decided not to try to help. She was not a very sympathetic person, especially when she was mad.

Nessa Ran back inside with the rags, "hey I'm… " She saw the seen and shut up, she scooted over to Blaine, "We are getting her a professional paint set you hear not the cheep ones she deserves better."

“Yeah,” Jane said quietly, spotting her chair into a corner and resuming the paperwork. “There. We will only need to spend an extra….. eight hundred dollars.”

Ender hugged her. "Hey, now….its okay I'll buy you new paint okay?"

“Um. It’ll be fine. I have about a thousand saved up, allowances and stuff. I can buy it.”

Blaine grumbled under her breath about the price.

"That's, like, two months worth of paychecks, you guys."

“It’s fine,” Jane insisted. “I’ve got it covered. But, uh, Nessa? I may need a rain check on that cake.”

Nessa began cleaning again, "Alright Venus cleaning this up will only mess you up more. Ender! Escort her to the couch and stay there with her got it."

Ender nodded. He guided Venus over to the couch.

"I was so-so close!" Venus whispered. "So CLOSE!" She slammed her palm into a puddle of blood red and sent it splattering all around.

Ender flinched as the paint splattered on him. "Venus, I will buy you new paint with my own money, got it?"
