(Alright. Should you start or me?)
(Could you?)
(Sure)
Runaan took a deep breath as he walked up to the palace gates, his brother wrapped in a warm blanket beside him. Pax was smaller then Runaan by a solid two feet, and couldn't be any older then 8. He shivered weakly as he clung to Runaan's side. "I've come here to see the Prince." He says, glancing at the guards. "If he's here."
Evan ordered the gates to open as he sat on the throne, next to? His sister. They weren't married, but he had put up a fight to not marry any women at the party. He actually came out to his parents, and next month there was going to be a ball for gay princes and lords, which made him much happier. But for now he was practicing ruling.
Runaan entered the palace, his eyes widening a little bit at the sight now that he was truly taking the sight in. Pax looked around in awe, giggling quietly. "I've only seen the castle from afar." He smiled warmly up at Runaan. "Why did the prince ask you here?" He asks after a moment. Runaan shrugged. "I have a favor to return, is all." He smiled gently before ruffling his brothers hair. "Come on now. Let's not keep the Prince waiting." He says quietly. Pax nods.
Evan smiled warmly as the palace doors opened, and he got up from his throne, going to meet Runaan. "Ah Runaan! What a wonderful surprise! Come, come please. And you must be his brother. I've heard a lot about you. It's good to see that both of you are doing tremendously well." He wore a big happy smile from ear to ear, thrilled to have company and overjoyed at not having to sit on a throne and listen to people complain all day. "We'll get a room set up for the both of you. Please, feel free to explore anywhere. We have stables, a library, and a gorgeous garden outside with fountains and plenty of fruit trees to snack upon. You two may stay as long as you wish, live here even. If you like that is."
Pax hid shyly behind his older brother, his eyes wide with curiosity. Runaan bowed politely. "Hello, Evan." He says quietly before glancing down at Pax. Pax smiled a little when Evan said that Runaan talked about him. He still hid behind Runaan, but seemed a little happier. "Thank you, Evan. That's very kind of you." He says softly, resting his hand on his little brothers head. "Say thank you. Pax." He says softly. Pax nods before saying a quiet thank you.
"Hmm. Shy are we? My little brother Alex is about your age, I believe you two boys would get along fine. He has a pet wolf, but is just as quiet and shy as you are. He likes to draw. He's up in his room currently, but I could always bring him down." He walked along, went over to a few maids, and told them to prepare a room for the two brothers. He then led them off to a side room, a sitting room for guests. "Please make yourselves at home. Would you like anything to eat, drink?"
He smiled a little bit and nods, and Runaan laughed quietly at that. "I'd like that." Pax smiles at the other before slowly moving to stand beside his brother. "He has a wolf?" He asks curiously, his eyes wide with excitement. Runaan smiles a little but before glancing at Evan. "I'm not all that hungry, but thank you." He says quietly. Pax tugged gently on his cloak. "Runaan… May I have something to eat?" He asks softly. Runaan nods. "Ask Evan." He says quietly. Pax looks up at the other. "May… May I have something to eat, Prince Evan?"
"Please just Evan. Hmm…what would you like? Something sweet maybe?" He said as he sat down. "Also yes, we have many animals. Wolves, dragons, horses, foxes, bunnies, cats, dogs, snakes, lizards. Every sibling has at least one pet." There was a Mrow at Evan's feet, and he looked down, picking up a tuxedo cat with a mustache. "And this one, is mine. His name is Tux. He loves being petted and loved on, so it's fine to pethim." He set the cat down in Ruunan's lap. "As long as you don't mind a bit of cat hair, he's a lap stealer." He smiled a charming smile, dark blue eyes glittering, full of charm.
At sweets, Pax was sold. He giggles sweetly before nodding shyly. "Wow! Dragons?" He asks, his eyes wide with wonder and curiosity. Runaan smiled at his little brothers excitement. He glanced down at the cat and raised his eyebrow. "Tux, huh?" He had never touched an animal before. They were always to poor to get another mouth to feed. He pets Tux mindlessly, before looking up at Evan.
The cat was soft, and nuzzled into Ruunan's hand, purring loudly at all the attention. "Handsome thing isn't he? Spoiled rotten." He rings a bell and a butler comes in. "Sebastian, bring in a few bowls of candy. Small ones, we don't want to spoil his supper." The man nods and walks off, and Evan booped the cats nose. A maid comes in. "Master Evan, the room is ready." "Alright, splendid. After the butler brings in the candy, have him help you bring up their bags to the room. And then after that, take a short break in the library or gardens. They are always so lovely this time of year." She nodded and rushed off. "I pay them all ya know. It's more of a job and less like…well…slavery. An understanding and kind king, it's what this country needs. Even if I'm not king yet. Not till I marry."
AH! I'm so sorry! I thought I replied!//
Runaan laughed quietly as he pet the cat, his eyes gentle. He rarely got to enjoy himself like this. Pax was still beaming excitedly about the candy and the dragons. He hummed softly to himself before Runaan looked up at the man and then the maid. He kept quiet before looking up at the other. Pax nods, "I'd like a king like that." He giggles sweetly, a small smile on his lips.
"Everyone would. Though being such a good king is easier said then done, but I am trying." He shrugs as the two small bowls of candy are brought in, and sat upon the small coffee table. "I hope it satisfies your tastes Pax. If not, I can always call for more, or different candy. Make sure not to stuff your stomach to full. We have a 4 course meal for dinner to eat. I encourage both of you to please explore as you like. Would you two like to go do anything now, or rest first?"
(I'm back!)
Pax looked extremely excited, tenderly taking one and nibbling on it. He perked excitedly, eating it with a bright smile on his lips. He looked at Runaan and giggles quietly. "It's yummy! Thank you." He says shyly towards the prince. He went silent and Runaan chuckled softly.
"Your welcome. But you two still haven't answered my question. Are your gonna explore or relax? I have enough siblings to entertain any of your interests. I promise." He smiled and grabbed a piece of candy, tossing it into his mouth.
"Can we explore, Runaan?" Pax asks shyly. He glances down at his little brother. He wanted to relax a bit, but his brother seemed curious and excited. He chuckles and nods. "Sure. We can go explore, Pax." He says softly. He smiled at the other before shrugging a little.
"Hmm. Here." He got up,and grabbed a few pieces of wrapped fruit chewy candy, stuck them into Pax's pocket. "For later to snack on. What would you like to see first? I could have you and Alex go see the dragons. And Runaan, you look so weary. I could show you to you're room, keep an eye on the two." He smiled. "Whatever you two wish."
Pax giggled softly, his eyes shutting for a moment as he thanks the prince softly. He glances over at Runaan before looking at the floor shyly. "I- Could I see the unicorns?" He asks curiously, looking back up at the prince in awe. Runaan looked up when he was adressed before shrugging a little bit. "I'm alright, just taking a breather. We can go and see the dragons, Pax." He smiled down at his little brother. Pax gives a gleeful giggle before tugging Runaan up and to the door.
Evan smiled and stood up, pocketing some of his own candies. "Off to the dragons then! And if you either of you two ever need to rest just ask the butler to show you where your room is." He walked off, through winding corridors and long halls, before reaching one of the towers of the castle. He took out a key, and opened the heavy lead door, and with some effort managed to get it open. There, were two dragons. One was hanging upside down like a bat from the ceiling, sleeping, and the other was curled up like a cat. The one on the floor was white, with pink tinted scales. The one hanging upside down was a deep shade of royal blue, white spots dappling it. It was a lot more regal looking with 4 horns sticking out of it's head. The one sleeping had one, and a half horns and was chubbier.
Runaan nods slowly before taking his younger brothers hand. He followed silently after Evan as they walked down the halls. He hummed softly as they walked before looking up at the tower. It was impressive. Pax giggles excitedly when he sees the tower, looking up at Runaan before returning his gaze to the tower. He gasps when he sees the dragons before looking at Prince Evan for permission.
