Jay nodded. "Yeah, that's fine." He replied calmly. "Just let me know if and when you need to stop."
Jay nodded. "Yeah, that's fine." He replied calmly. "Just let me know if and when you need to stop."
"I'll let you know," She agreed, happy for the road even if it was rocky and not the best road at all. It was still a road, and much easier on her arms.
Jay took a deep breath, and nodded again. "Alright. Thanks."
"No problem blondie." She replied, cracking a small grin at the nickname and looking over at Jay to see if he liked it.
Jay rolled his eyes. "My hair is white, Delia, not blond." He replied with a soft laugh, shaking his head.
"Well it seemed rude to call you whitey," She shrugged but still grinned, looking up at his pale strands of hair, "So I decided on blondie."
He laughed a little. "Mm. Alright." he replied, running a hand through his hair.
Delia seemed happy as she continued walking, though she kept glancing at the sky for any type of drone coming over them.
Jay looked over at her for a moment, a faint smile flashing across his face, and then he looked away again, sighing.
"What's your favorite color Jay?" She asked, watching Leo as he pranced back to them and started walking alongside of Jay happily.
Jay shrugged a little bit. "Blue." he replied after a moment. "And yours?" he looked over at her, then back at the road.
"Reddish orange, I think," She decided, thinking for a few seconds and looking over at him again. Delia shrugged again, smiling lightly, "That or something in that red yellow range."
He nodded a little bit. "Ah. Alright." he replied slowly.
“How about favorite animal?” She asked, realizing she really didn’t know a ton about Jay and wanting to get to know him better.
Jay shrugged again. "Dogs." He replied, with a glance at Leo. He smiled at the puppy, and Leo barked at him.
Delia smiled and looked at Leo too, nodding happily, “Dogs are my favorite too, especially Leo.”
Jay nodded. "Mhm. Aren't you glad I didn't actually shoot him?" He asked with a laugh.
“Very very glad.” She said, laughing lightly as well and looking over at Jay, “Thank you for having a shred of morals and not shooting Leo.”
Jay laughed. "In my defense, I heard noises and thought it was a person, not a squirmy, hungry puppy."
Delia laughed and shrugged, “Hey, that’s why you check. Sometimes it’s a little happy furball and not a hungry human ready to fight you for a piece of food.”
Jay laughed a little bit. "No, he's just a hungry puppy that would bite my fingers if he thought it would earn him food."
“I think he knows that it would not earn him food anymore though,” She said with a light laugh, looking over at him, “Maybe when you first got him, but now he at very least tolerates you if he still remembers you fixing his paw. Maybe he enjoys being around you now, like I do.”
He laughed a little bit. "All true." he replied, nodding his head.
(Should we timeskip to when they stop for the night? Or did you have something that you want to have happen before they stop?)
Delia chuckled a little and looked down at Leo, watching ad he looked up at her, tail wagging and ears perked as he listened for anything around them.
(Hm. Not sure. i didn't have any plans tho, no)
Jay kept walking, glancing over at Leo with a faint smile.
(Writing them walking is getting really repetitive lol)
She soon fell back into quiet, setting into the routine again and only glancing over when Leo switched to walking alongside Jay.
(yeah lol. What do you wanna do tho?)
Jay reached down to scoop up Leo when the puppy started to get tired. He petted the puppy gently.
(I’m thinking if we skip to them stopping, I have some ideas of things that could happen, good or bad)
Leo barked happily when Jay picked him up, nestling into his arms and watching their surroundings with alert eyes even as he relaxed in his grip.
(hmm alright! You wanna do that, or do you want me to?)
Jay held the little puppy gently, petting him for a moment, then continued walking.
(Up to you, I can do it with my next response if you don’t want to)
Leo’s eyes closed sleepily after a few moments and he fell asleep, tired out from walking. Delia felt the same, sick of walking, but she was going to keep walking for as long as Jay wanted them to. She could rest tonight.
