Hinata looked at Adara, still smiling to be with Matthew again.
"Hello. It's nice to meet you." Kagami waved, grinning like crazy. Hinata turned back to Matthew.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that!"
Hinata looked at Adara, still smiling to be with Matthew again.
"Hello. It's nice to meet you." Kagami waved, grinning like crazy. Hinata turned back to Matthew.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that!"
"What's a Soul-" she was startled from her sentence by the fox jumping on her shoulder and nudging her. She blinked, but then grinned, stroking its soft fur. "Well hello," she said. She waved slightly at the other two, whose names she had already forgotten, and raised an eyebrow at Matthew. "…Tour?"
(Well, I guess it’s the perfect time to introduce some tension into the story)
Matthew gave Adara a small smile and a thumbs up.
”Ah, right, well shall we—“ his sentence was cut short when an explosion occurred somewhere in the hospital. It sounded critical as well.
The creature in the hallway was taken aback by the sound and rushed away as fast as it could. Matthew had instinctively shielded Hinata and Adara behind him from where he heard the explosion come from.
Turning the corner carefully, his eyes widened at the scene.
”Quiet…” he whispered, his arm guarding them from turning the corner like he did.
(For both Adara and Hinata)
(Look at what Matthew was seeing?)
(Stay quiet?)
(Follow the Composed creature?)
Kagami was completely shocked by what had just happened, but Hinata quickly pulled her close and covered her mouth with one hand. Making a split-second decision, Hinata's other hand went to Kagami's arm; in a moment, Hinata went from holding a young lady to herself to holding a katana. She held the sword close, edging out to see what Matthew was looking at.
When Hinata eyed the corner, she would spot a coated humanoid whose one gloved hand held what appears to be a small curved dagger, while his other hand did not hold a thing but was not gloved neither.
His face was covered with a hazmat mask with eye sockets glowing a neon greenish color.
”Doc…tor…… doc…tor…” the figure said softly with heavy breathing.
”Where…are…you…doctor…?” the figure held up the knife in their hand as they looked around, eventually turning towards the corner where the group was and tilting their head.
”D-Doctor……?”
Hinata's eyes narrowed, and she pursed her lips. She fell back into a defensive position, never taking her eyes off of the figure. This did not look like it would end well. Kagami, even in sword form, was freaking out. She didn't really actually fight that often- Hinata usually relied on Tatsuo and Katsuo to actually fight with, and Kagami would act as a spotter, keeping an eye on Hinata's blindspots and tell her if anyone was coming at her from there. Actually fighting, though… Kagami wasn't handling this well at all.
”Stay here…” Matthew stated as he stepped out from the corner, making clear sounds of footsteps to distract the figure.
When the figure looked up and saw Matthew, his ungloved hand lit up with sparks.
”Where…” the figure started pacing towards Matthew at a slow pace which quickly turned to a rush ”… where… is… DOCTOR?!” the figure screamed out the last word.
Matthew stood there completely still until the figure was about a meter or two away from him.
”If you’ll allow me…” a green and golden lance appeared from the ground and stopped the figure by piercing his neck ”…I’ll be your doctor as for now” as Matthew said that, a green and golden armor started forming on him, starting from his palm up.
Hinata would normally say something about how she would have done that anyway, but at the moment she was too busy trying to calm Kagami down. She watched the situation unfold, and quickly sheathed her sword- she quickly disappeared, and Hinata put her hand at her hip, where Tatsuo appeared. She kept her hand on his hilt but didn't draw yet. She watched as the armor started forming around Matthew, quirking an eyebrow up.
On the side of the rink, there were doors which seems to lead to outside… however, it looked like the doors were frozen cold. With that, the temperature dropped again, this time hitting way below the negative line to a temperature that would start harming internal organs. The door seemed like the only way out as well. Time was the only obstacle now.
Jade slipped and slided to the doors but in the process she had fallen a few times her breath turning into a cloud as she used fire to unfreeze the door
When Matthew pulled the lance out, the masked and coated figure did not look too physically satisfied with what he just did and so the attacked jumped above Matthew’s lance and attempted to touch him with their ungloved hand.
Matthew managed to dodge to the side and stab the figure’s chest.
”Kori!” the Knight yelled out as the icy fox jumped up and turned back into his human form, freezing the figure on the lance’s tip. However, the figure’s ungloved hand was activated and created an explosion which broke the ice created by the fox.
Not letting a chance go to waste, the attacker escaped by jumping from wall to floor to ceiling and so on, moving at incredible speeds down the hall.
(Suggest Matthew to follow the figure?)
(Let the figure go… for now)
Inside the silent Sapphire room, there was a wooden table with a small chest on it. Beside it was a key and on the chest a name was engraved on it; Cassius.
(Open the Chest?)
(Leave it as it is?)
Kye looked at the box, but didn't touch it. He was to busy looking around the room he was in. He'd heard the explosion, but from where he was it didn't bother him. He didn't think that it was something of importance. To him, an explosion was an explosion. He knew how they worked. Mostly. He decided that there wasn't anything important in this room, so he was going to try and find where the explosion came from.
Should we be letting the person get away? Tatsuo asked, cold and analytical.
For now. Hinata watched the figure dash away.
This will probably lead to complications later on, Tatsuo pointed out.
Oh, without a doubt. Hinata let out a little sigh, turning to look at Matthew.
"What the hell is happening?" Adara asked, through the noise. Her eyes tracked the figure as it ran. She did want a fight. She darted toward Matthew, feeling the familiar surge of fire going through her. "Let me help!"
Jade flung the door open and ran out of it into what looked like a maze or labyrinth "H-huh?"
Kye followed what he knew. Sounds of people yelling. He was pretty sure he could hear fire. And he definitely felt people running around. From what he could feel through the ground, there were four or five people near the explosion sight. He slipped into the shadows creeping along. Where? On the walls, near the ceilings. Behind things. He was a tricky person to track and follow. His footsteps were muffled half by his light steps and half by the soft leather that he wore. And he didn't follow a step pattern when he went places. Most of the time he looked like he was wandering aimlessly, while he actually always had somewhere he was going.
Kori stood beside Hinata, waiting for further orders from his ‘master’.
When Matthew heard Adara’s words, he turned around and gave her a smile pass the headgear.
”Let me help as well” he said as he casted a speed spell on both himself and Adara. It was refreshing to say the least.
”Kasai, Kori, protect Hinata and her Companions at all cost. Kohaku, come here” he ordered as the foxes nodded and turned to their wolf forms.
The cat, Kohaku, jumped onto Matthew’s head. Matt sent Adara a mouthing of the words Follow the waves before he sprinted down the hall, at quite an inhumanly speed.
When Jade appeared inside the maze, the atmosphere changed quite significantly. There wasn’t any chillness, it all became tensed and somewhat stressful. Echoes of screams and screeches can be heard around the maze. It was time to start exploring.
”Heading somewhere?” a somewhat familiar voice would ring from behind Kye. Though hard to follow, it wasn’t impossible when what you followed was scent and not sight. The figure who had called out was the young Knight who wielded two swords. He had bloodstains on his face, new ones that most likely came after he met Kye.
Hinata watched Matthew take off, putting one hand on her hip. She was perfectly fine defending herself, but it was sweet that he wanted to protect her. Plus, it would be advantageous to have Kori and Kasai around if some of the other locals dropped by.
Kye jumped hard. A purple sphere appeared around Aisen throwing the man away from him. Kye slid to a halt, ripping the knife from his pack, and turning to face the knight. The tip of the knife near the ground. The sphere around the Knight disappeared and Kye breathed out slowly as he realized who it was. "Apologies," he said. "I was headed towards the location of the explosion. To make sure that there are not any injuries. Or to help with what there is."
Kasai and Kori both sniffed the air, searching for unfamiliar scents.
”Three…” Kasai said quietly.
”Three not so pleasant scents… one definitely from that attacker, I’m not sure about the other two though” Kori added to what Kasai said.

Aisen was taken a bit back when Kye summoned the sphere around him.
”Right…” the Knight blinked a bit as he said that.

Kye Looked at Aisen and then in the direction he had been heading, then back to Aisen again. "Would you like to come with me to make sure everyone is alright? This is your home after all."
Aisen opened his mouth a bit at the word ‘home’ Kye said with certainty. He clenched his fists and grind his teeth a little before closing his eyes. Opening them again, they can be seen changing colors; from both of them being black, to one staying black and the other a ghostly white. He rested his dominant hand on the corresponding sword’s hilt and nodded.
”Let’s go…” he said, leading the way towards the building in the distance.
When Jade appeared inside the maze, the atmosphere changed quite significantly. There wasn’t any chillness, it all became tensed and somewhat stressful. Echoes of screams and screeches can be heard around the maze. It was time to start exploring.
Jade had made the coat into a dove and let it go away as she walked into the maze
"Thanks," Adara grinned. Her body started to pump with adrenaline, and she pulled her small folding knife, unfolding a blade and throwing it as fast and hard as she could at the attacker. The blade spun, golden trails of flames streaking from the ends, and lodged into the wall. It missed the figure by centimeters, and she cursed. She was out of practice.
The hall in front of Loki was relatively dirty. It represented sewers from what it seemed. There were mosses and aquatic plants growing in the corners and along the path. There were sounds of footsteps around along with the sounds of water droplets.
When Matthew saw the blade, he smiled and went quickly to pick it up. He jumped after the figure in the long hall and managed to catch up, grabbing the figure by his throat and stabbing it with Adara’s blade, twisting it before pulling out.
The cat, Kohaku, that was on him jumped on the attacker’s now motionless body and opened its mouth, swallowing gulps of blue substance which was evaporating from the body.
He then threw the dagger back towards Adara, missing her barely and hitting the wall behind her.
”Thank you, very useful”
Hinata nodded, listening to what they said.
"Great," she mumbled under her breath. Things always had to be complicated- she had wanted to explore a bit since had been a long while since she had been to the Labyrinth, and her memory was a bit… Rusty; but she also didn't like the odds of there being at most three enemies here and running into one.
We should wait for Matthew, Tatsuo advised.
Got it. I'm gonna go explore. Tatsuo made an undignified sound.
"Hey guys," she said to Kori and Kasai, "I think I'm gonna take a walk."
Kye noticed the change in Aisen, but didn't show anything until he'd turned and bit his lip. Clearly that was not the smartest thing to say. But he couldn't take it back now. So he kept going towards the area that the explosion came from.
The hall in front of Loki was relatively dirty. It represented sewers from what it seemed. There were mosses and aquatic plants growing in the corners and along the path. There were sounds of footsteps around along with the sounds of water droplets.
Jade looked at the plants in fascination "Wow I have never seen these" the footsteps finally registered in her mind as she heard them getting closer so she slipped into the shadows
Kasai and Kori were a bit confused at first but decided to take the risk. What was the worst that could happen anyway? This was Hinata we were talking about.
”Alright, we’ll be here. Just be careful” the two foxes nodded at the ice fox’s words.

As they took their stroll towards the area, Aisen gave out a loud sigh.
”Sorry about that—“ he brought up, still keeping his hand on his sword’s hilt ”—I wasn’t exactly pleased hearing the word ‘home’ describing this place… and as much as I’d like to disregard it, it’s the reality I’m in now” the Knight spoke in a much lower and quieter tone. They were about halfway to the area.
(Congrats! You’ve met with one of the several new Knights I’ve replaced with the old and boring ones)
The sounds of footsteps finally reached the end of the hall Jade was in.
”They should have some lights installed in this damn place…” a female voice complained about the brightness of the hallway. As she got closer to Jade, her features can be seen.
She had tentacle-like long hair which covered parts of her face, seaweed stuck between their strands, a pair of darkened green eyes which looked dead tired, soft and tender looking lips, and arms which looked infected by something. Soon, it was clear what the infected spots can do. The female looked down at them and smiled as the spots enlarged, turning one of her arms into a giant crab claw which looked razor sharp. She looked around the hall.
”Where… where is that scent coming from…”
Jade used a silence spell on herself to make sure she wasn't heard but the closer the female got the more worried she got so she back up as far as she could into the darkness
The female figurine looked around a bit more before they sighed and walked away. The echoes of water droplets still rang through that specific hall but now with only Jade in that hallway.
