Betty sighed but nodded

”Thank you.” Lysander smiled at her agreement but noticed her reluctance. He wanted to kiss her to let her know that it would be ok but after she pushed away from him a moment ago, he held back. He glanced up Marie briefly before looking at his fiancee. ”Would you like to meet her? Or do you need some time alone for a little while?”

" I have an hour before sunrise I think I'll have a coffee with Henry and Tyler" she said

“Ok, love. Just don’t get into a fight with them.” He smiled, joking a little.

" I'll mange " she said kissinng his cheek before starting to walk past him

He smiled at her kiss and quickly kissed her cheek before she walked away. “I love you, my angel.”

" and I love you" she said before speeding aeay

Lysander sighed sadly at her swift departure but he understood that she needed some time to calm down and he needed to straighten out what was going on with Marie.

Seeing that they were finally alone, Marie spoke up. ”Comment le fils d'un fermier est-il devenu si raffiné?” she asked half teasing half genuinely curious.

”Marie, il faut qu'on parle.” he said turning to her.

Betty somewhat stumbled down the stairs . She swiftly laid her engagement ring and lysanders sun ring down on the counter I making a ringing sound that only vampires ear could hear , before she sped away

Lysander felt his heart drop as he heard the sound. ”That’s not giving me much of a chance.” he said softly.

”De quoi devons-nous parler?” Marie asked, not hearing the light ringing.

Betty closed the door behind her after whispering an I love you and then sped to Henry

Lysander’s lips twitched into a brief smile as he caught the softly spoken words but his expression became stoic again as the door closed. ”Marie, Je ne suis pas humain. Je ne suis pas humain et tu es mort. C'est ainsi depuis plus de trois cents ans.”

Betty pulled out her phone " hey hen can I stay over?"

”Bets? Yeah, of course.” Henry answered. ”Is everything alright?”

" Marie is in my room" she said.

”Marie? Who's that?” Henry asked, a little confused. ”And why is she in your room?”

Betty sped back to her room grabbing a couple things from her room ignoring the two in there " his first love" she said

”Wait. Marie Carrell?” Henry asked carefully. ”Elizabeth, where are you right now?”

Lysander and Marie were in a slightly heated debate so neither of them noticed Betty yet. ”Que voulez-vous dire que vous n'êtes pas humain? Bien sûr, vous êtes.” Marie argued.

" I'm in my room" Betty said ignoring them

”Get out of there. Now.” Henry warned. ”Don’t worry about Lysander. Just get out of the house.”

" why?" She asked locking herself in the bathroom

”I… It's not a conversation to have over the phone.” Henry sighed. ”Just… Please, come over to my place. I can explain.” he told her.

" Henry you better tell me what's going on " she said

Henry groaned a little. ”Bets, I’m begging you. You're safe as long as Lysander keeps talking to her. I don't want to know what she’ll do when she realizes you're his Eternal.”

" ok ok I'm leaving" she said accidentally knocking something over as she left the bathroom

Marie jumped a little at the unexpected interruption. She relaxed, however, when she saw it just that blonde girl from earlier. ”Lysander, qui est cette fille et comment est-elle rentrée chez toi?”

”Betty? I thought you left.” Lysander said a little confused but not upset.

" I um came to get some things" she said having a bag at her side

”Oh. How long do you think you’ll have to be gone?” Lysander asked, still sad that she was leaving for a while… Apparently, longer than he thought.
