We see Larry, a bald Cucumber, have his hairbrush given away by Bob, his loyal companion and a Tomato who sees the logic beyond want, to a Peach who has hair and is in need of the brush. Bob, while acting a bit rashly, provided a government worker with a necessary provision that his companion did not need to own, for it was useless for him.
Although the question of why they need brushes (as they have no hands) is another one entirely.
